Being the weekend before the total solar eclipse, the hotel was pretty full and the staff was kept busy. Raji manned the front desk on Sunday morning (by herself) and she was amazing when it came to handling the variety of crises that arose that day, from a broken hot water pipe resulting in the fire alarm going off in the dead of night (and the loss of hot water to guests the next morning), to a problem with a broken bed in our room. She kept her head and calmly kept us informed. I can't say enough good about her. The rest of the front desk staff was equally gracious and helpful. We appreciated their efforts to make our stay comfortable.

Toilet didn’t flush and no hot water on the second day. I know it’s under renovation, but the construction crew and/or hotel can keep the work zone “cleaner” since you walk through it to get to your room.

Construction was a mess. Dust and construction materials were right outside our room. The whole floor should have been closed. Noise from the traffic outside kept us awake all night. We have stayed at Hampton inns all over the country but this was a very disappointing experience.

Deceptive. Was warned about construction during the hours of 10am-6pm. Was not warned about the following: I was right next to the construction and would be waking up to scraping of the walls and drilling at 8am. No fridge. No hangers. Toilet didn’t work properly. Smelled like paint because it was just painted. Staff was nowhere to be found. Staff wasn’t apologetic. Come back in a year when it’s all done. Stay off the 3rd floor for now because they are doing it all everywhere. 2nd floor is probably next because it needs work. No idea about the first floor. As an aside, it was probably the worst breakfast I’ve ever had at a Hampton. I’ve been fine with them for enough times. This place was a a disaster.

The rooms were extremely filthy. There were complaints of bed bugs and it smelled horrible. We left and requested a refund.

When I arrived at the hotel they did not have the suite I paid for and gave me a smaller room. The room smelled like urine. It was not a good experience. Don’t recommend staying here.

It was under renovation but what bothered me the most is I PAID for two queen size beds and at the time it showed that 8 were available. After a long drive and at check in they had none available and I had to share a bed. There was no communication at any point that I wouldn't get what I PAID FOR IN ADVANCE!!

We stayed for 2 nights, the first night we noticed we had no shampoo and the restroom light didn’t work, but we didn’t complain at first. The second night the restroom didn’t flush, and we had a horrible night, we were in the first floor, and there was a lot of noise in the upper floor. We called to complain but nothing happened. This is my first time writing a bad review, and it’s sad that we come to Mansfield often, we loved the area, but not the hotel.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. The window coverings did not close completely. The bathroom fan didn’t work well. Also, the cover for the drain in the shower was not secure. It was inconvenient to not be able to enter with our keycard at the nearest our room but I assume that was for security reasons. I will address the room charges separately.

Would recommend.
The staff was friendly, the room was spacious and clean. The laundry facility was a plus. I had 1 load of laundry to wash before our flight the next morning. It was an affordable pleasant experience at this hotel.

Clean hotel
Needed a room to hold our family of 5, they had a large suite. Breakfast was hot and tasty. I wish they had brown sugar for the oatmeal but it was still good. The hotel was clean and even had hand sanitizer outside the elevator. Very nice. I would have liked to know about the $50/day deposit before our arrival. I hope it doesn't take the full 30 days to refund it.

The wrong room was booked. The beds are horrible they are not pillow top. They were on a metal wire base. The breakfast was horrible. The air conditioner made a horrible noise all night.

Needs a lot of work
We were in town for one night with our 3 kids under 10 for a series of hockey games. Had a queen suite on the first floor. I don’t normally leave reviews, but this was one of the poorer stays we’ve had at a hotel. First off, our room never fully cooled and the entire building was extremely humid and smelled of mildew. We arrived to check in at 2:45 and were told our room wouldn’t be ready for at least 30 minutes. The upholstery on the pull out couch in our room looked and felt grimy and dirty. A host of raisins fell out of the pullout when we opened it. Barely any water pressure in the shower. When someone went number 2 in the morning, the toilet would not flush. We couldn’t get the tank to fill with water. At breakfast, the cooler that milk and yogurt was kept in did not reach a food safe temperature and one of the small milks we opened had curdled despite not yet being out of date. The gravy for biscuits and gravy was also kept warm in a crock pot which I thought was a bit unprofessional.

Excellent experience. Most impressive was the cleanliness of the rooms, lobby, and breakfast buffet areas. Coffee is available as of 4am for us early-risers, and the breakfast buffet selection was terrific. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a long day and just wanted to get to sleep ASAP! Got into the room and it was already hot, ironically it was cool at night. I adjusted the thermostat like I usually would while we took our shower. The AC unit stayed on literally for 1.5 mins! By this time, it was already midnight and we were passed out. I kept adjusting the AC at night and it would not get cooler than we wanted it. And the mattress was not comfortable at all. This is the worst nights sleep at any hotel/motel Ive ever stayed. To be honest, the only way to make me happy again, would be a full refund! Really sad! We did find out the unit could have been adjusted the unit, which is the opposite of what the note said. Talk about a complete slap to the face, when we woke up. Breakfast was good and the gentleman helping did a great job.

Room was dirty. The bed sheets seemed to have not been changed as there was pubic hair in between. Sure was NOT ours as we aren’t blond. The bed seem to be broken, made loud squeaking noise as soon as you set on it. Walks were dirty, bathroom had dead bugs on the floors like it hadn’t been swept in a while. Carpet was also dirty like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. Room served the purpose, but most definitely not staying there again. Don’t recommend it. Staff was not all that great. I’ve stayed at many other Hampton inn and have had a great experience unfortunately not at the one in Mansfield.
