Dear Sir,We would like to thank you for taking the time to post this review.We are always genuinely proactive in trying to understand how our guests feel when they stay with us here at The Village.It seems that you were a little disappointed with the property, which is a terrible shame. Our only objective is to try to ensure that all our guests leave with the fondest memories. It seems that we came up a little short in this instance.There are some rocks piled along the beach front area where your villa was situated. Unfortunately, over the last years, we have witnessed first hand a significant rise in sea levels. This has had a terrible affect on our beach front garden areas. Naturally, we have to do something about this this to either slow it down or stop it. The rocks that you refer to are in fact a temporary response whilst we plan a long term solution. We do hope that our guests would understand this and be a little sympathetic when we are trying to slow down the affect of rising water levels in a natural and environmentally friendly way.I am a little surprised by your comment regarding the air conditioning. There are over 6 different units in that villa, it is highly unlikely that they were all not cooling. Was it that they were just not ice cold enough for you? We do have records of staff checking them for you and we found the doors to be open when our staff visited. Air con will not work effectively unless the doors and windows are closed.If a guest is not happy with a specific Villa or location, we will always try to move things around to change the location or outlook. Unfortunately in this situation, we were fully booked and that was just not possible in this instance.Thank you for the rest of your comments, I will be discussing them with the team in an effort to always improve our services. Dear John,We were very disappointed that we were unable to meet your expectations during your very brief stay with us. Please do accept our apologies, our only intention is to try to ensure that all our guests only have the best stay with us. It seems we fell way short in this instance. As we discussed and agreed with you at the time, we would process your refund and that it would take up to 14 days to arrive to you.This is still the case, we have authorised everything since 20th December, so you should receive your funds any time now. I have no idea about your conversation with Hotel beds, they are normally very efficient at managing these processes. It seems that there may simply have been some confusion at their end. What I would say is that anyone reading this review and hopefully others is that our feedback is normally exceptional, if something does go wrong (we are human), we are always very quick to react and try our very best to find a solution that makes everyone happy. Thank You for you review. We are very pleased that you really appreciated your welcome and your villa with special sea views. We agree, it is very relaxing and perfect for unwinding. Of course, being on an island, there is a certain factor of isolation, but that really, is the whole point. In order to enjoy and appreciated escaping from the very busy hustle and bustle of Phuket. However, with our water taxi running every 30 minutes, we hope it is easy to visit Phuket and enjoy its offerings at your convenience. I think that you are mistaken about the resorts facilities. Within the resort, there are 3 restaurants available for dining and a fully stocked convenience shop (Cocomart) that has over 600 items including wines, drinks, snacks, and ingredients for in room cooking. I have noted your comments about pricing and extra costs. I don't always understand why occasionally people believe that everything should be free? When i stay in hotels and resorts around the world, I always expect to pay if I want to partake in any extra activities, or if I need a transfer to get to the resort, then I would also expect to pay. I'm not sure why you feel these services should be free? The Thai baht is currently very very strong against all international currencies. Therefore, if one converts local pricing to their home currency, it will sometimes seem high. If however, one compares our pricing to standard local pricing in Thailand, then it is not expensive at all, in fact it is very competitive. Thank you once again. Baralio, Thank you for your review. It seems that you have followed up on your promise to try and destroy us online at the time of your departure. I would like to make it very clear to any Expedia readers that this is not really a true account of The Village Coconut island. Of course, the resort is located on a beach. This can be clearly seen by any pictures seen online, both on our website and on the many review sites taken by past guests. The water surrounding Coconut island and Phuket is tidal. This is a natural phenomenon. Whilst the tide recedes, the sea bed is exposed, this naturally gives a different view of the area. Fortunately this only happens at specific times of the month and the water always returns within a few hours. I can categorically confirm that every swimming pool and jacuzzi (200 of them) are tested, dosed and cleaned daily. I'm not sure about your comments of the local area. There is a small local community of mainly fishermen, boat builders and long tail boat drivers. They live a very simple quiet lifestyle. If their living conditions did not meet someones expectations, then I would query expectations before stating that it was unsafe. I have been here for 13 years and have not known of a single crime in that time. Amazing considering your statement. The booking terms clearly state that you booked a non refundable package. Anyway, your threat to destroy us was noted and I sincerely hope that ay readers take this review for what it is. Regards Mark

Dear のーん, Thank you for you review. I was very disappointed to read that your expectations were not met. We only ever aim to please and satisfy all our guests at all times. I do wish that you had mentioned these disappointments to us whilst you were here, we would have been very happy to assist. For the benefit of readers, I would like to clarify/ respond to your specific comments. We are an Island Resort. therefore it is necessary to travel on a 5 minutes water taxi to get to Phuket. We operate our water taxi every 30 minutes which is undoubtedly the most frequent water taxi service to any Island Resort in Thailand. We do this to ensure that our guests do not have to any inconvenience if they do wish to visit Phuket. I can name 10 other nearby Island resorts that only operate a water taxi 2-3 times a day, not the 48 times a day that we do. Depending who one books their stay with, the small charge for the water taxi may or may not be including in the daily rate. For those that it is not included, there is a small charge of 100 baht (not very much at all). Similarly, I can name 10 Island Resorts that can charge up 3,500 baht per way for a water taxi ride..... imagine that? We have over 200 swimming pools in our resort. Each pool is tested, checked and cleaned every day. It IS possible that some leaves may drop into some of our pools from nearby trees, we do hope that guests understand that this is nature and can easily be scooped out with nets that we provide.
