Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We do apologise that you thought the room was too small, you did book one of the cosy rooms which are sold as small bedrooms. We have taken your comments on board to try and improve upon.

Thanks for your review. You did book a cosy single room, which is of course our smallest rooms at a budget price. Our team at Riad Explore is a young team, as we believe in giving opportunity to new talent, they will only get better and more confident with time and experience. It is nice to see that you are a frequent visitor to the medina.

Thanks for your review, but it is somewhat misleading and OTT as Riad Africa was not overbooked. We upgraded your booking to a higher standard of room at our second riad, Riad Explore, due to urgent maintenance work to our water supply in your allocated room, and disruption caused by the demolition of a neighbouring riad. Riad Africa's new riad, 'Explore', is located just 3 minutes walk from Riad Africa. You were even closer to the medina's main attraction, Djemaa el Fna, in a safe and peaceful neighbourhood. Riad Explore is more luxurious, more expensive, and brand new. All facilities at Riad Africa were available as usual during your stay at Explore, including the Arabia Spa, Bistro Africa roof-top dining and Cooking School. Our card machine was working but your card did not work, so our staff asked for cash. Our policy, like most hotels, is to take room payment at check-in.

It is unfortunate that you have been allowed to make a review as you did not actually stay at Riad Africa. You booked late at night at 10.34 PM, arrived at the riad, then left immediately withour staying as the style of hotel and our room policies were not to your liking.

Thanks for your feedback. The medina streest are cobbled so it is difficult to roll your suitcase! There is always an option to have your case carried in a hand-pulled cart for 30 dirhams. The rooms at Riad Africa are always aired before guest arrival so I am not sure why you felt they were not. I understand from Faical that we upgraded your room for free as you were never happy with each room for some reason. To be honest I do not think a riad was a good choice for you personally. I note that you moved to a standard resort style hotel after your stay - hopefully more appropriate for your needs.

On the first night of your stay I understand that you were allocated our last available room, an economy room, as we were fully booked. You were then upgraded to a superior room (Okavango) rather than a standard room for the last nights of your stay. We are sorry that you were disturbed by smokers. We have a strict no smoking policy within our riad - smoking is only allowed on the roof terrace and in the streets outside the riad - so I am unsure as to why smoking took place. Usually it is due to inconsiderate behaviour from guests that smoke that ignore our no-smoking signs and warnings from staff.

Thanks for staying with us. As an historic old medina house we are constrained by existing room sizes so many of our rooms vary in size from cosy singles (10 sq metres) - our cheapest rooms, up to junior suites (36 sq metres). We allocate rooms based on category of room booked and price paid, so with your room I believe it was a cosy room - small, but as you mentioned everything you need is supplied. We hope to see you again one day - do let us know and we will ensure that as a repeat guest we will give you a free room upgrade.
