The room was spacious clean and comfortable. Our unit felt a bit like a basement suite. The hotel is out of the main town area so you have to drive to restaurants. A quirky thing was charging $2 for a coffee pick. This was even though breakfast in your room was included.

The room which we enjoyed had a wonderful view, the amenities were thoughtful and convenient, and the large bathroom area offered great water pressure --- something we always love when traveling. Our host, Lauren, took the time to offer great suggestions and give us helpful information related to the area and New Zealand that made it easier for us to get settled and comfortable. Lauren also did a wonderful job providing fruit and keeping our space ready and clean. Many thanks to her. Overall, Tahi Lodge was a wonderful place to stay and we definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Laura greeted us upon arrival and helped us with a small load of laundry as the unit no longer has a washer/dryer. The unit was quite warm and had only one fan so my son’s bedroom was quite hot and muggy during the night. The breakfast provided was good- 4 assorted jams & honey, butter amd a loaf of bread, plus assorted cereals. The TV was quite small but fortunately was a Smart TV so we were able to access Netflix. Overall, I would highly recommend Tahi Lodge was the only caveat being the lack of a fan in the second bedroom.

Hi Thomas, We are sorry that we don't appear to have fully met your expectations which is contrary to most guests we have to stay. Our continental breakfast has a range of cereals - tailored to dietary requirements - wherever possible, a wide range of fresh seasonal fruit, a mix of yoghurts, a large bottle of fresh milk, a full mixed grain toast bread loaf with a mix of fresh toppings, a large bottle of quality orange juice, a wide range of teas/coffees (Filter/Instant and Nespresso). We note that most of the items above had been consumed to some extent.We monitor our pricing regularly within the Region and find that we are cost effective - especially for parties of 4 guests such as yours. We will review our listings and continue to do all possible to ensure we fully describe what we offer with the aim of meeting or exceeding our Guests' expectations. I had a very nice stay. I found the place to be very comfortable and clean. The owner was very welcoming and provided helpful advice. I enjoyed the sunrise view from the patio and I would recommend this place to others.

Our thanks for your review.. We don't think the smell you experienced was related to the carpeting which is in excellent condition and cleaned regularly. It may have been from the products used to disinfect rooms between guests which we have done since reopening from the COVID pandemic. With normal room window ventilation in use this has not been an issue. We'll review our cleaning materials to minimise the chance or any such issue re-occurring. Thanks/kind regards Lauren & Warren.

Only stayed one night, but the apartment was excellent: nicely furnished and immaculately clean. Owner was really nice and gave us lots of local information. Would recommend without reservation, but plan to stay more than overnight.

I have stayed at a lot of 5 star hotels and even thiugh this one isn't, it felt a lot like it. Room is nicely sized. Great amenities that will cover everything you need. Good views... Stayed for just one night but will come back for sure.

The property is nice and spacious with a lovely little patio outside the bedroom which is nice and secluded and has a lovely view. A great place to enjoy breakfast. Dear Marco, We have previously responded to your real time feedback and do not believe the low rating that has been submitted is fair. 1. You booked and arrived on the same afternoon and did not stay with us after deciding to continue travelling North to the Bay of Islands. 2. On arrival you were welcomed into the Matakana Suite you had booked but then requested to view our 2 bedroom Kawau Apartment as an option for additional privacy and wider sea/rural views. 3. Lauren advised you that the Kawau Apartment had yet to be serviced and that it would take approximately 45 minutes if you wished to swap rooms. The Kawau Apartment may have had a slight smell reflecting that our previous guests had cooked inside the Apartment which would have been readily addressed once the Apartment had been serviced and aired. 4. From discussions with Lauren we were not aware that the smell was of concern to you and understood that you had decided to drive on to the Bay of Islands in the available daylight that afternoon/evening. 5. We pride ourselves on the presentation of our property and are disappointed that we were not given the opportunity to present the alternate apartment once it had been fully serviced. Nice accomodation with great few
Nice apartment with great few! Breakfast was fantastic! Very friendly owner - we have got some cake on arrival. There are no shops or restaurants in walking distance

Lovely views. Quiet. Separate bedroom and lounge plus an outside seating area with a great view. Continental breakfast with delicious home made banana bread. Very informative hostess. Would highly recommend staying here.
