Lovely property and friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and well maintained. We had a junior suite which included a full kitchen. Food at on site restaurant was excellent. Beach is spectacular with surf for those who enjoy an active swimming experience. Walking distance to Gap Restaurants - but route has not great sidewalks and not well lit after dark, so you have to be careful.

This is a great resort. The property is older, well maintained, with flowers are everywhere. Our room was excellent, had a kitchen, and a modern bathroom. You could not find a better beach. The beach staff are great. Sandals is next door and you can also access its beach. The hotel has great live entertainment every night near the restaurant. Some negatives The hotel is in an isolated area with few shops/stores nearby. You have to to take a cab to shop or find an alternate restaurant. The food in the hotel restaurant is good but service is slow. If you want a coffee in the morning, you have to wait outside the restaurant for 15 minutes for your coffee which is then delivered in a box which is not needed. The hotel desperately needs a convenience store on site where you can grab a coffee, a cold drink, or a sandwich on the run - even at inflated prices - as time waiting shortens your vacation time. The big negative is the attitude of pool bartenders who are not friendly and make you feel you are bothering them. Bartenders are usually the life of the party. Not these bartenders. They saw us sitting at the bar waiting to be served but they did not do so until we aggressively spoke up. If a large crowd is waiting to be served, they make the drinks for everyone instead of serving customers individually. You therefore have to wait a long time for your bill as your frozen drink slowly melts. The attitude and work habits of the bartenders lets an otherwise great hotel down.

Perfect beach and pools . Great breakfast and dinner . Service on island time but food is excellent. Rooms were suites with living room and kitchen.

Charming hotel; gorgeous beach; friendly, attentive, helpful staff and very little turnover year-to-year. Very pretty - bougainvillia plants and shrubs everywhere. Can’t wait to go back!

The property was gorgeous, especially the lobby and pools. Our only disappointment was the kitchenette. The online photo for a junior suite shows the kitchenette in the back of the main living space. ours was in the entry hall to the room. It was very inadequately appointed as well. We are very active on vacation and prefer to eat breakfast and many dinners in our room. Cooking is healthier and more convenient for us after a long day exploring. This kitchenette made it fairly impossible to cook much at all. Our balcony had a lovely view of the ocean and the pools and the room itself was fairly spacious. One thing that wasn't mentioned on their website is the fact that there are no elevators. We were on the top floor and hiking up and down every day was a lot (especially with all our gear) and we felt that should have been disclosed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The property, rooms and facilities are all excellent and very good value. If you don't go for the all inclusive food package then any other decent restaurants are approx 15 - 30 minutes walk away. Only minor criticism of our room was that it was very dark and you needn't to have lights on the whole time

The property is beautifully landscaped, right on the water with a Caribbean feel. Staff, especially the front desk staff, were extremely helpful and accommodating and were, cheerful, friendly and polite. The deluxe suite we had was large and nicely furnished and we loved sitting out on the full size patio. Would definitely go back again!

We liked everything about this hotel. Great place to relax and enjoy your vacation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Recommend you take advantage of water activities the hotel has to offer, you won’t be sorry.

This was a small well kept facility. The beach was clean and the staff were very friendly. They had a nice gym, free ping pong, and free use of kayaks and paddleboards. Staff would help you use the kayaks and paddle boards. Some of the showers had lukewarm water, the restaurant was so so, with slow service. Good happy hours specials for those that like alcohol. Overall this was a great facility.

Smallish hotel set on a stunning beach, service is wonderful and the setting with waterfalls , swimming pool and swim uo bar are perfect. Breakfast was not included in my package and was expensive to add on we didn't and added it a la carte, which was ok, but wish it had been included at a sensible price. Still highly recommended and will be back

We were very pleased with the Bougainvilla Barbados. It is relatively small, but had a lovely beach close to our room, beautiful pools and a swim up bar. We enjoyed the restaurant for lunch and dinner. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel and it was reasonably priced.

I absolutely loved this hotel! I had a really enjoyable stay. I stayed in a deluxe studio and it was a good size. The bed was large and comfortable, the shower was excellent and it was great to have a kitchenette. Everything was in good working order. The balcony was wonderful and it was such a bonus that it faced the sea. Such a joy to sit on the balcony and listen to the fantastic entertainment the hotel put on! The beach the hotel is on is perfect- absolute paradise! great for swimming and also relaxing with a book. I couldn’t ask for more!

Beautiful facility and great staff. Our sole issue was that my wife is partially disabled and they had us booked into a 4th floor room with no elevator. The staff worked hard to move us, and it worked put in the end. The hotel should definitely make it very clear that there sre no elevators.

A very nice hotel
The hotel is a bit dated, however the lobby is spacious and beautiful. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The Concierge staff was also very helpful. The room I had was very large with a kitchen and a large balcony with an excellent view of the beach and ocean. The room was very clean and serviced daily. From the hotel you can walk along the beach for about a half a mile. I did not eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on that aspect. I would have no hesitation staying here again.

The beachfront is phenomenal if you’re an ocean lover. The property is pretty and beds are comfy. The friendliness and welcoming from the staff was mediocre. Some were great and some were meh. Overall though a lovely first experience in Barbados.

First time staying at Bougainvillea Barbados. Loved: 1) size - not a large impersonal resort, it was the perfect size 2) proximity to St Lawrence Gap, Oistins 3) very well kept hotel, the loungers at the front were well spaced and didn’t feel cramped. As it’s further south in the island, there are some waves at the beach, it’s not as still waters as further up the west coast. An excellent stay and very happy to have chosen this place, no regrets.

I stayed for a 3 day trip for my 21st birthday and am anticipating my trip back! Bougainvillea was a beautiful resort itself, the restaurant was amazing, it was on the beach and was the Cherry on top. The water was breath taking literally crystal blue. The staff were soo friendly and polite and I can’t stress this enough the foooood was top tier, make sure to try the curry and the captain’s catch!

Lovely stay!
I enjoyed my stay here. The facilities were up to date. You can easily stay on the premises because it has everything you need from multiple pools, a bar and a restaurant on site. This hotel also has free water activities which is led by an amazing coordinator who is attentive and ensures guests are enjoying themselves. Overall, the staff are all kind and dedicated to ensuring guests have a great time. I would absolutely stay here again!

Other than needing a tiny bit of a touch up here in there in the room, our stay at Bougainvillea couldn't have been any better. Great location to explore the island from, breakfast with a view, incredible service from all staff members... I really can't fault it at all. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
