Disappointed
Good location, shame about everything else. Check in was perfunctory, as was service at breakfast. No hospitality at all. Room was the smallest I have ever seen, like sleeping in a caravan. Beds short, my feet were sticking out and I am 5'6", not very tall! No shelf or surface in bathroom for toiletries/make up. Very clean apart from finding an item of clothing left under the bed by a previous guest. This is an expensive guesthouse and we were overcharged on checkout, only by a couple of euro but still overcharged. Convenient location, otherwise I cannot recommend.

Das Zimmer ist sehr klein, die Tür vom Bad ließ sich nicht ganz öffnen! Fast keine Ablagefläche im Bad, evtl. größeres oder zweites Regalbrett besorgen.Tür- Garderobe im Zimmer wäre toll, um Jacken aufzuhängen, da keinerlei Platz. Lage sehr gut! Gastgeber und das Frühstück HERVORRAGEND! Wir haben viele tolle Tipps bekommen und der Besitzer ist super freundlich!

Minuscule et bruyant
La chambre était tellement petite que la porte de la salle de bains ne pouvait pas être ouverte complètement car elle poignait le lit. Même pas de place pour une seule chaise dans la chambre et aucun accès à un lieu commun pour s’asseoir.La fenêtre donnait sur la rue et on entendait les gens parler, crier... une bonne partie de la nuit. Excellent petit déjeuner et literie confortable.

La struttura e' molto carina e ben tenuta. I servizi sono ottimi: il WI-FI funziona benissimo, ha un parcheggio privato, la colazione e' molto buona. L'unica pecca e' l'ampiezza delle camere (almeno della nostra). Il letto matrimoniale era molto grande e comodo, ma gli spazi rimmanenti erano minimi, tanto che in due persone era davvero complicato muoversi.

We loved our time at the Elephant Guest House! Rooms were comfortable and breakfast was fantastic! It was in a great location. Our hosts were fantastic! If you stay here you will not be disappointed!

Where to stay in Westport
Lovely clean room with attention to detail. Breakfast was amazing with all ingredients sourced locally. Des even made the pork sausages. The owner has a wealth of knowledge having lived in the area all his life. When I go back to Westport, I'll certainly be staying at the Elephant Guest House.

Extremely noisy during the middle of the night. At 2:00 am someone was banging on the door to the premises, which is accessed by a code as there is no front desk or proprietor on premises. They pounded on the door for a good bit of time. Other guests were extremely loud and noisy---very rude--for a good bit of time as well. If there was a proprietor on premises, they didn't do anything about all the noise. We texted the proprietor twice asking them to deal with the noise but never received a response. The room was very tiny, but clean. The ventilation system made a lot of noise--a very annoying and loud humming noise. There was a tea kettle in the room but no cups or glasses.Breakfast was good and location is convenient. We will definitely NOT stay there again.

The place is immaculate; breakfast is wonderful, and Bernie is a terrific hostess. The location is in the heart of the town. Our room was a bit small but that is typical, I believe, in the heart of Westport.

Overnight stay
Advertised on Expedia as a Hotel. It’s a B&B. Damp mouldy smell throughout building. Room small but bed was very comfortable. Lovely hot shower but no hot water in taps in en suite. Breakfast served 8:00-9:30 which is silly or else a ploy for people who want to sleep in and not get a breakfast. Overpriced for what it is. Host was nice and friendly.

Great location!!
The hotel is in a great location. The room was extremely small. No place to even open a suitcase!! We never had the breakfast that was included due to our timing. Very clean hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

No Elephants allowed ...
Proprietor was not available when we arrived and House was locked up. We asked in the Shop next door and he held our bags while we waited an hour. On returning the shopkeeper next to our guest house told us the proprietor came and left again and instructed him to let us in. He was very kind but couldn’t answer our questions about what services were provided / available. That evening I spotted the owner in the breakfast area and entered to introduce myself. He smiled but was very curt and a few times said he didn’t know or couldn’t help us when asked about busses, etc . We were not told there was breakfast included but accidentally found out from others. Also, we had no instructions for the TV and ran out of bathroom tissue and did not know where any more was. When we mentioned this to the owner he told us he would tell his wife because she owned it. During breakfast his wife cane through the dining room but never acknowledged any of the guests eating breakfast. Our bus was leaving in an hour so we said we would be back for our bags shortly and were told to take everything from our room because his wife wanted to clean it and leave our bags by the door . As we left he was busy with other guests and never even a thank you passed his lips. Nice place, very small rooms, clean but lots of rules posted.

Don't let their photos fool you. The room was so small that we couldn't open the bathroom door without hitting the bed. It actually felt like a slightly upgraded hostel. We could use any light switch in the room without leaving the bed. When we arrived, there was one dirty face flannel/wash cloth on the floor of the bathroom, and one clean one available for two people to use next day. No body soap or gel, shampoo, etc. available. The only available shelf in the bathroom was so tilted that nothing would stay on it. The floors were slightly sticky. Our traveling companions' room lock did not work, and there was no telephone in the room to call for assistance. There was a small blood smear on our sheets, and a large spider web hanging over the bed - the spider having moved to another corner of the room. On the other hand, the breakfast was fantastic.

Triple room was in attic space,3 fights of stairs , very clean, beds were comfortable, this room would suit younger people only, Television not working. 2 remotes but not straightforward to switch on. Great breakfast

Top class!
Good value for money. Very handy to everything in Westport town and a good base for exploring the rest of the county. Breakfast was first class with lots of choice. Thanks to the owners Des and Bernie - we would definitely stay again!

Amazing hosts, great atmosphere
Bernie and Des were amazing bnb hosts! We loved the atmosphere every morning at breakfast, their wealth of local knowledge and kindness. The rooms were cozy and everything we needed was made available. Extremely highly recommend staying here!

Great location
We had a small room but a BIG comfortable bed so the room was a little hard to get around in. Loved being right in town and owner was very nice. Also liked the breakfast room and the breakfast.

Great Place in a Great Location
Stayed for five nights. Room was clean and comforatable. Great size double bed. Shower was very nice. Guest House located right in the centre of Westport. Very friendly owner, and staff, some great suggestions of what and where to visit. Very good breakfast choice and quality.

A great placed to stay
The Elephant Guest House was a friendly and well run B&B. The locatio near was right in the centre of the lovely village of Westport. Highly recommended.

Quaint and cute place to relax in Westport
I stayed at Elephant Guest House for 2 nights and it was super cute and very accommodating. Even though the owner has some serious health issues, he and his wife made sure to make arrangements for the hotel to still be staffed for our stay. The rooms are clean and newly updated and the breakfast is amazing! This was the first place we stayed in Ireland and it was a wonderful introduction to a cute town with friendly people! :)
