The property was run down and unclean, the photos on Expedia are deceiving and not reflecting the hotel actual/current poor state.

Stuff are unfriendly. Room are dirty. No towel. Bathroom is stinky. Room service never response. By the way if you are from English speaking country then don’t ever think to book that hotel. They can’t speak English. Hotel manager Kamal is one of the a……h… and never listen the problem. Every other days room lock do not work and you have to go all the way to reception and fix it. Stay away from that hotel.

You get what you pay for. The hotel is just about avertage and nothing more to it. Best advantages was that it is close by to some restaraunts, including the local bus stop. There were no tissues in the room, had to request towels and slippers.

I had found nothing to like the property except the city view from my window!!! None of the stuff could speak in English, not even basic !! So we really had a bad experience to communicate!! One of the tap had only hot water could not use it for washing face or hand! So staying was not worthy and I deserve to get my money back!

I booked a deluxe suite in makrem Al bait and my experience was good. Friendly staff and house keeping was great. It has bus service to haram that is available 24 hours.

Dirty and unpleasant hotel
I strongly advice everyone against booking this hotel. It was very dirty in the room and no service at all. When we checked in they also didn't accept payments with visa card. The room card stopped working several times so we had to go downstairs to get it renewed. We had to take the stairway a couple of times as well due to elevator not coming. 0/10 mostly because of the dirty rooms.

This was my first visit to SA and I chose this hotel based on the reviews I read on Expedia. The staff was very cooperative, nice and responsive. The hotel rent is very reasonable, they did not charged me for the early chck in although I wanted to pay for that. The place is very much acessable by public transport to Al-Haram. Makkah Bus No 4 and 8 ply day and night from the front of the hotel, they also provde a shuttle bus service for 5 prayers to Al-Haram which is convenient and fast. Hot water is available all times, environmental friendly heating and cooling, lighting, free wifi, hair dryers, toiletries and towels are available. The rooms were clean and tidey, equiped with new furniture, electric kettle, iron and ironing board, fridge and lockers. Good concierge service, plenty of elevators and ascalators and business center. The only thing they need to concentrat is to improve deep cleaning of corridors and deep cleans the batrooms more frequntly.

Poor service at Makarem Albait
I have been staying in the hotel for over 7 years but the service is very poor this year. You have to go to the reception and request for cleaning and if the person on duty forget no room cleaning for you that day. The service at the restaurant also is poor. No varieties and the food served are not all that hot because the kitchen is no more located in the hotel. Generally the management performed below average.

Overall it was a good stay. They let us check-in slightly earlier than we were scheduled to. However, the room was quite small for three people and room service is not a given as we expect in Western Europe. However, they would always clean if you especially requested. The hotel is considerably far from the Haram, but the shuttle service was excellent and always on time. However, the bus stop, where they drop you off is also considerably far, so be prepared for a long walk especially if you're going in the summer.

Ok hotel far from the haram
The hotel is below average for the price. It is far from the haram so you are better off paying a little extra to save you time getting to and back from the haram. Room is below average in cleanliness and we had an experience where the toilet had a plumbing issue that smelt the whole bedroom, however, this issue was solved and they swapped for another room.

Advise, Choose Another Hotel
It was one of the worst experience ever I had at this hotel. Stay more than half an hour to check in, room, was one bed even though we ask for two beds, and many other issues. Also, there are two families enter the room which is was wrong room since the recepition give them a wrong room.
