Not happy
I was refused a continental breakfast before 8 am which also needed to be ordered the day before. No personnel on duty out of the hours of 8 am and 5 pm No mattress protector despite requesting one.

The location is pretty handy as it’s walking distance to Chapel street. It’s a quaint little hotel & good value for a clean basic room. We could hear people coming in late at night, so it’s not very sound proof.

Good value and well located in the suburb.
The Toorak Manor was pretty much as per the photos. Our ground floor was a decent size and nicely decorated. There is a nice breakfast room. Breakfast is $10 pp for cereal, toast (including raisin toast) juice,, tea and coffee. They have a decent coffee machine. It was good value. There is also a lounge room if you want to read or chat to other guests. There is free parking - which was big attraction for us, but it is very well located for public transport with a bus stop going to the city across the road, Hawksburn train station a stones through away and the tram a block or so away. There are a few pubs up the road along with restaurants, a super market a fish and chip shop and McDonalds nearby.I would definitely stay there again. Good value for the money. The reception team were also very nice.

I really like the heritage nature of the fittings and furnishings. The rooms are roomy, wth heavy drapes to keep out morning sun, and the bathrooms are large. My room was very quiet. I heard nothing from the rooms around me. I was there for 5 nights and my room was only serviced once. so my waste bin got very full, and I ran out of milk for my morning coffee. I spoke to the receptionist about this and he said this was not meant to happen. The rooms should be serviced daily. This was my only complaint.

The building has a lot of character, old world charm. Well positioned close to the railway station, trams and shops. Staff were friendly and helpful. Outside is a different matter, difficult parking with a larger vehicle but worst of all is the ‘rubbish’, the owners would do well to get someone in to clean the place up, the exterior is just as important as the interior.

Room was very quiet even being right on the railway line. The pillows were a bit flat but otherwise good value for the location. We stay there pretty much every Christmas as there is nothing else in the area. We don’t do the breakfast so cannot comment on that

The property is a beautiful old building and maybe could do with better lighting in the bathroom but overall comfortable and location is great 👍

A different style of furniture and building which was expected being described as a manor. Room was a bit dusty, the shower wouldn't stay at a consistent temperature and the smoke alarm on the roof flashed all night.

Affordable and in a good location
This is in a great spot w free parking and good wifi. It's an older property but lovely and well signed. I stayed in Room 1 - which appeared to be mid renovation. No probs - but expect to visually be underwhelmed. Reception staff lovely and informative, the meals room and sitting room very sweet. Will stay again :)

This is a very Charming and clean Friendly Place. It is dated but it has a very classic style in which you can enjoy having the convenience of being able to park freely and walk to shops and public transport.

I was originally worried that the proximity to the train line would be a concern, but was pleasantly surprised to see the strong double glazing - I didn't hear a thing! Had one of the best nights sleep in a long time. Overall great stay.

Disgusting hotel and poor customer relations
This property was filthy and the room smelled so bad my family left. When they requested a point of contact to complain they were told that the owner didn't want anyone to know they owned the hotel. AVOID THIS PROPERTY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Location was great. Williams Rd very busy and divided road so could only get to driveway when heading East. We ordered breakfast for both Saturday and Sunday and PAID. for 8.00 am. No one turned up on Saturday until 8.15 to set up. Then Sunday no one turned up at all. When we rang, they said that nothing happens until after 9.00 am on Sundays...annoying they did not tell us. All their literature and onsite signs say 8.00 am till 10.00 am 7 days per week!

Delightful olde worlde English country house charm. The garden isn't what it once was though. Removal of those dead cypress tree trunks on the railway side would be a good idea.

The property is old and reasonably clean. Our main issue was the bed was broken and there was no staff to report this to. Our bed was missing a leg and sagged and it could not be slept on one side - we had to utilise a handy iron as the replacement leg! When we reported this to the young man the next morning - he was not interested.

This property is desperately in NEED of a jolly good cleaner. Cleaning is done by young, inexperienced people. They looked like students to me not cleaners more interested in IT than cleaning. The carpets need a good clean. The place is very tired. When I first arrived they gave me a room that was far from clean and could not possibly stay in it for 5 nights. I asked for another room that was much better but still needed a good clean. Sheets and towels were clean in my opinion and location great.

Old but cosy and cute. Could do with some upgrade but overall good value for money and perfect location. Plenty of free parking which is a bonus for Melbourne. Will stay again.

Love the high ceilings and location. Mattresses were really uncomfortable. Sheets weren't very nice quality. Sound proofing was non-existent!
