Thanks for the review Shanna. Each guest has personal needs that we do try and accommodate. We are undergoing a renovation and looking forward to the new design. Come back after the renovation and things will look fresh and new again. I believe the plans still have the ice machine in the same location but a new one will be more quite for the guests.

That is the plan.To bring it back the Hill House Inn to its former glory. Renovations will be starting soon. We will be checking out the room you were in. Thank you for letting us know about the paint and wallpaper those things can be tended to. The furniture does have that well used look but is clean and polished. Newer sofa and the mattresses are new. Thank you for the review.

Usually the weather here is very mild and moderate and rarely do we get request for fans so when I didn't have enough fans to give out, the guest was a bit irate and I told her that I could not help her but maybe she could open her window as I sit in an office with 3 doors open and rarely see a bug but she had a room full. I don't know where the false advertising comes in except she is right to complain about the hedges behind her room which have not been attended to. I have requested the landscaping team address this situation, but it has not been taken care of. We rarely get complaints about dirty rooms which she never mentioned to the front desk. Management is planning to do room renovations this winter so let's hope some of these problems get addressed. As far as the weather, I have no control over that.

Currently the unused areas of the hotel are blocked off due to staffing. The unused restaurant is ocean view and has been blocked off to keep unknowing guests from roaming the property. As you walk or drive around the parking area when you look to the right you will see the ocean views that sweep the back area. We would have been happy to show you one of the ocean view rooms if you were interested. You had booked into a garden view room. Upgrades are an option if available. Sad hear you say our gardens are unkempt as the landscapers are here each week. Due to water limitations we are not allowed to water currently but looking forward to some winter rains. Thanks for the 'Murder She Wrote' mention -- our wall of movie stars were either the murderer or the murder-ee. Were were the Hill House Inn of Cabot Cove.
