Cozy and quaint, nice staff. Area had no family restaurant's, hard to find anything. Inn had no ice , no batteries in remotes we had to figure out remotes because there were three and nothing to identify, the spa and sauna are not private and not really useable unless you like 6 people at a time, mattress was very old, faucets leaked, tight areas not for big people at all and worst, its pet friendly, but when we turned on the furnace you could smell, I am assuming it was pet urine, faint but it was there so don't go barefoot. There is absolutely no parking. We had to drive to fort bragg for a store and food and yes they have all of that but again you have to walk at least a half mile up hill or all over town and back with your groceries and carrying ice is not fun when its 40 out. lol

For accuracy’s sake, please allow me to clarify a couple of important facts: Our Sweetwater Eco Spa offers private as well as communal tubs and saunas and, off street private parking is provided for each of our cottages and water tower units. We love being pet friendly and enjoy our returning furry friends! We hope we have the opportunity to host you and “Sugar” your sweet dog again when Mendocino holiday crowds have wanedand the weather is warmer. October is a purr-fect month to visit Mendocino!

best little retreat
such a gem! we stayed 2 nights here to spend a day at orr hot springs (we had a dog, who we rover'ed). from check in to muffins in the morning, everything was so lovely! the spa in the back was amazing; call ahead if you want to book a massage. and definitely go to luna trattoria (through the garden gate) while you're there!

The hotel does not have a place to park your car, the beds are very old, the mattresses, the place in Mendocino is beautiful, but I would never return to that place to rest, nor do I recommend it

We had an enjoyable stay at the Sweetwater Inn. It's in an excellent Mendocino location and is quiet at night. The furnishings are mid century which was fun and fresh muffins were delivered each morning.

views from roof deck are wonderful. Muffins in morning were soo good! Everything was really clean. Landscaping is beautiful. Very quiet at night, so could sleep easily. No complaints at all.

We have stayed here several times and will keep coming back! The staff is friendly and the units are adorable. Plus you get fresh baked muffins delivered daily. This time we stayed in the Sears tower, which is right next door to a phenomenal Italian restaurant-Luna. I’ve also stayed stage Redwood tower which is the best place to star and ocean gaze. Most units are pet friendly as well.

Best Inn for a quiet getaway
The Inn was as cute and quaint as you can imagine. Perfect location across from the beach and close to hiking trails. Will definitely stay again and upgrade to one of the cottages in the back.

This was a charming cottage with gas fireplace, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. It is associated with a spa and a hot tub experience is included with the room. Overall very comfortable

Beautiful location and our room was rustic. Delicious fresh-baked muffins each morning brought to our room was a nice treat. Parking was a little tight, but manageable. Convenient for walking, shopping and dining.

Sweet water sweet vacation
We originally had a VRBO in fort brag through vacasa vacation rentals but they canceled on us 3 weeks before our trip.(I think vacasa is a scam) It was a blessing in disguise as Sweet Water was awesome. Great location, great staff. Relaxing spa. World class muffins in the morning and the Luna restaurant next door is legit authentic Italian. We are in the Mendocino area every summer and you can bet we will be back at Sweet Water. Look no further. if they have a room available, book it!

Fabulous until we asked for a one hour delay in our departure as the spa dud bit open until 11 am. This would still allow 3 hours for housekeeping to prepare the room before check in fir the next occupants. Very disappointed.

Our room furnishings were very old they were dirty comforters were dirty had crumbs on them back of chairs were dirty table tops were filthy we had to clean them down We believe the pictures on the Internet were photo shopped or edit it somehow to look better. And owners were rude don’t stay in the suite we the tower the Sears Tower terrible terrible place to stay ourselves before eating on them

Attic-like room. Hard to access. Worry about fire in such a tightly enclosed space. Not the Inn’s fault but one night fighting and screams from the only other room at the top of the stairs. Slightly terrifying so hard to get back to sleep.

This Inn is nice and comfortable. The cottage was big enough and very clean. the location near town was perfect. A lovely Headlands walk is literally across the street and two nice restaurants are next door. It is really easy to walk to town, which is small but charming and traffic was slow. It is very easy to find and the hosts were great

Quaint Inn in a great location. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Peekaboo view of the ocean from one window in the River Gate Room. Amenities a plus: gas fireplace (could not adjust temp., though), daily muffins, tea/coffee in room, mini-fridge, microwave. The room was fairly large for the age of the house. Expedia information is not quite accurate- there is no shared deck or anywhere to sit outside unless you book certain rooms. There was no BBQ or picnic area on site. No iron/ironing board in the room and the bedding was not premium. The Inn is a bit tired and dated. It needs a refresh. The mattress needs replaced and the loveseat has seen much better days and should be replaced. The carpet needs replaced as well, while it's a No Smoking inn there were clearly burn holes in the carpet. The bathroom needs more hooks or some kind of table or shelf to set things on. While we were generally able to park out front, it would definitely be difficult as business picks up. For the location and price, I would consider staying here again.

We got there right at the beginning of the Coronavirus shutdown. Unfortunately for us, this meant the spa was closed as was the hot tub so we really didn't get to take advantage of the amenities we had hoped for. The cottage was cute though and I would like to come back when the business is more upbeat.

Like: Beautiful location, Very good restaurant nearby Dislikes: Difficult steep steps to room, no secondary exits from second floor, no amenities available with power out, proprietors didn’t offer much to the guests who came. No drinking water provided when electricity to water pump went off. Generator for electricity operated sporadically. We do understand that the Northern California fire season caused much of the problem but this may become a common occurrence and proprietors will need to provide other incentives for guests to stay

Thanks for your feedback, we're working on making improvements to the issues regarding forced power outages that for us, have just started to become a problem in our area with the last shutoff event caused by PG&E. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Mattress was a bit lumpy and instead of a light weight comforter, the blanket provided was too thin to keep us warm. Muffins in the morning were a nice touch and the staff was friendly.
