At the age of 70 my husband and I had our first experience with our student granddaughter in a hostal. It was fun. Granddaughter fluent in Spanish, I am not, but the family who were our hosts were kind, patient, and very accommodating . The breakfast was Ecuador cuisine and adequate, but the morning fruit drinks were wonderful. My suggestion, take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The roosters are very vocal all night, which has no bearing on the hostal, just a tip. We are glad we had this adventure with our granddaughter.
