Booked the room in advanced using hotels.com, like always. Got non-refundable room, not an issue, we have stayed before. This was the 3rd time we stayed here and we're hoping to be able to use the hot tub again. "Hot tub was closed for the season." That was literally our main reason for staying. (We came in October 2021, November 2022 and then yesterday). It's hard to find a hotel in Mobile, AL that is reasonably priced WITH a hot tub. We get in around 7:30pm and much to our surprise there was a now REQUIRED $250 CASH DEPOSIT. (Guess new management rules?) Hotels.com did not mention that. They did NOT have an ATM in the lobby to use. Had to drive to the gas station and then sadly the gas station's ATM was broken. The cashier there told me to go by the KFC in the next parking lot over and there would be a big blue stand alone ATM. Sure enough, it was. Charged $4 extra. Came back and put the $250 on file and was given a paper receipt NOT signed by the lady, Brooke, who checked us in. (Guess management signature?) Yes, was able to get deposit back the next day as Brooke said, upon turning in the paper receipt to a diff hotel clerk. Did not get the extra $4 back from the ATM charge, though....Breakfast was delicious. Overall this was a very disappointing stay.
