Very beautiful property, very comfortable beds. it is a bit out of the way so you either have to drive to access food and shopping, or are you have to be willing to walk a lot! Although it was called a B&B on the website, there was no breakfast included. That was surprising and disappointing That is my only criticism. Otherwise, it was lovely.

It’s basic, with good hot water. I thought breakfast was included, but not. Has bare necessities. People are kind.

very clean! Nice wooden beach and hammock outside of room, the room had a safe and hairdryer, no fridge. Extremely friendly staff. Better than the pics! The free breakfast was ok, eggs, toast, pancakes, fruit, etc., would definitely stay here again, I really felt like I was in the center of the rainforest with how lovely it was.

The owners of this bed and breakfast are truly some of the best humans I’ve come across in my travels. So so helpful and kind, I can’t say enough good things about them. The property itself was very comfortable with some kitchen staples included (i.e., salt and pepper, a large selection of pots and pans as well as plates and utensils so you can easily cook your own meals if that’s what you’re into. Great stay! We hope to go back.

Such a great stay at this place! Gorgeous location and very comfortable rooms. Wish we could have stayed longer! The breakfast was delicious, as well. Very satisfied with our stay here.

Esteban nos recibió super amable, nos explicó acerca de toda la zona con un mapa incluido. El desayuno delicioso. La habitación acogedora pero amplia. El establecimiento es pequeño pero demasiado bello y rodeado de naturaleza. Al final conocimos a más del personal y también fueron super amables. Definitivamente volveríamos.

Brilliant Breakfast
The rooms are quite basic but comfortable, there are a few mosquitos around but you are in a cloud forest so a few creepy crawlies are expected. Esteban is lovely and helped us book tours and transfers, the pancakes were amazing. The laundry service was so reasonable and so fast we got our laundry back and dry within a few hours! It is tricky to get to without a car but you can walk to the national park and to Santa Elena easily. We ate at a hostel up the road in the evenings, it is only a 5 minute walk.

Great Stay!
My wife and I had a really great stay at Mariposa! It was very simple yet memorable. There is no air conditioner or heater in the room we stayed. It's only 5-10 minutes from San Elena. It's located in the mountain, so you wouldn't have to worry about getting hot, but it can get little chilly. We definitely recommend this hotel!

Really amazing location, hospitality was excellent. The beds were among the noisiest I've ever heard. If I turned over, my wife woke up and vice versa. We used separate beds since one was a full size and the other a twin. Wish there was a king or queen option. Had some issues with bugs crawling on me during the night, but nothing major. Overall, a good experience.

It is a good place to unwind and the property is also very well maintained. We liked our room and there was also a safe available. It is a family run place and they do a good job, Stefan was very polite and nice he even showed Armadillo to my son and he was so happy. I would for sure go again.

Very well located nearby the Monteverde Reserve. This Bed and Breakfast is charming and the hosts are very welcoming . Breakfast was good . The lodging was big and the two bedrooms had their own bathroom .

I can't say enough great things about the accommodations and the family that owns and runs the b&b . It was fantastic! Definitely will be back in the future. Surrounding area very safe. Full of wildlife and things to see and do. They so want to share their beautiful country.

Great place to stay. Stefan was very courteous and very knowledgeable. The b&b even did our jungle funk laundry for a small, reasonable fee. Monteverde is such a beautiful place. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was tremendous. 5 minute drive to the cloud forest and close to the surrounding community. Recommend the cheese factory. Would definitely stay again. Pura vida!

We had an amazing stay at the Mariposa. We had a two bedroom apartment, with a kitchen and dining/living area. We loved eating breakfast looking at hummingbirds and flowers.

Beautiful property, quiet and peaceful. The owners were amazingly kind, when our rental car had a flat tire, they spent hours helping us fix the flat! Couldn't have asked for better, more helpful staff.

It is a nivce simple place to stay with great natural lighting. The staff is very friendly. Monteverde can get cold at night and very few if any rooms have heating, so bring some warm clothes. Extra blackets were provided and worked well.

Very close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Charming setting and room furnished in good taste. Good shower (hit and miss in some CR hotels). The host is very friendly, helpful with suggestions, and makes a personalized "gallo pinto" breakfast for you.

Convenient location, very near Monteverde reserve. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were bare but spacious. Unfortunately my husband was bitten by something while he was asleep and he woke up with a swollen eye that lasted for a few days. The rooms could be better cleaned.
