This lodge was a perfect location for everything we planned to do while on the Kenai Peninsula. It had amazing lake and mountain views and was very well maintained and clean. The restaurant had great food and service. I highly recommend this property.

Great spot. Comfortable cabin, tankless water heater, so you'll have a wonderful hot shower after a long day of adventuring, and good food in the restaurant.

Beautiful property and great restaurant with friendly staff. Only further improvement would be to add internet access to rooms. We would definitely stay there again.

What an amazing Lodge! The attention to detail was fantastic... from the cabins to the restaurant, it was pure high-end, yet still with a rustic vibe! Of all the places we stayed at during our Alaska trip, Summit Lodge's staff went over and above to help us plan our adventures.

A nice place
We didn't get a lake view room but regardless I was very happy with what we got. Our room was deceptively large, the beds comfy, the room clean and facilities good. The power of the shower was a little weak but was ok. The staff were very polite and service was very good. I do have to say I was expecting better from the restaurant. I mean there was nothing really wrong with what we got for our evening meal but people on here really built it up for us and I would say for the price it was not a good as we anticipated. Overall we would stay again, a good base for a first night or first two nights if flying into anchorage and landing at a reasonable time of day.

Very scenic spot on the Seward Highway. The cabins are great but the historic rooms are a bit small. Food is awesome. One big adjustment was there was no cellular phone signal and Wi-Fi was limited to main office

Summit Lake Lodge is in a beautiful setting and the cozy cabins are fantastic! Complimentary breakfast for those lodging was delicious! Definitely recommend! Just a beautiful place.

Check-in was easy & the cabin was so cozy & cute with all of the amenities we could have needed (stand-up shower, 2 modern sinks, separate toilet room, mini fridge, satellite tv, king bed, futon, extra pillows & blankets.) Taking a shower with a view of the mountains through the window & fresh, sweet, crisp Alaska air pouring in was an absolute pleasure! The bed was so comfortable, I closed my eyes and didn’t wake until morning. The restaurant & bar were closed Tues & Weds which were the exact days I booked for & I didn’t realize it, so that was annoying. There is a little deli/gift shop/espresso bar next door to the restaurant that was still open, but the Hours online stated 9am-9pm and we were informed they were actually 10am-7pm. Breakfast is served in the restaurant & has limited options, but the staff was good about allowing modifications to what was offered. The gifts were insanely overpriced (about $96 for a thin hoodie, bar of handmade soap for about $8) but I did buy a bar of soap because it smelled so dang good lol very limited food options in the deli. The property was beautiful with areas to walk & sit by the lake which had breathtaking views of the mountains. We saw a few people that rented out the canoes & that looked like fun. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay & would definitely like to book again if we’re ever in the area. The views just cannot be beat & the comfort & privacy of our own little cabin was so worth it.

We loved our stay at Summit Lake Lodge. The property was in perfect condition. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were extremely accommodating to our group. The free breakfast made to order was a welcome and relaxing bonus for us. We played horse shoes and kayaked on the stunning lake. There was a fireplace in both cabins. The extra bed was made up and ready for our teenage son. Even the bathroom floor was heated! Honestly this was one of the best places we have stayed at in a long time. We will be back!

Cute little cabins in the middle of nowhere, too bad cleanliness is not a priority for them. The bedding had big yellow stains, & hairs on them (clearly has not been changed). Every. Single. Towel. had some kind of stain on it... Such a shame, as the property itself is amazing. They do also have a great restaurant on site.

Staff is personable, friendly, helpful. Beautiful grounds. Cleanliness is excellent. Eating breakfast looking out at the lake was so pleasant, peaceful start to our day. It was nice to have a sit down breakfast. So many places that say “breakfast included” have those horrible breakfast buffets. It was an incredible peaceful stay. I wish all of our stays in AK were like this!!

For Alaska, this cabin overlooking Summit Lake is pure luxury. Great staff. Cooked to order breakfast included, not some horrible grab 'n' go. Get a cabin on the lake.

Perfect cabin in Alaska to stay over. Pleasantly surprised of the lake it sits beside and the option to canoe and kayak. Great ice cream parlor and the food was marvelous. The cabins are rustic decor which fits perfect! We will definitely make this place a destination stop on our next visit to Alaska.

Summer Stay at Summit Lake Lodge
Loved our recent visit. Cabins were clean, spacious & well appointed. we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the lodge restaurant one night and pizza at the more casual venue the next. the staff in both venues were supper friendly and attentive. Also enjoyed a late afternoon canoe paddle on the lake, so great to be able to walk up & have gear at our disposal. thank you!!

Summit Lake Lodge is a beautiful property with caring owners and staff. The lake is peaceful and there are boats for use by those staying at the Lodge. Breakfast was the best we had in Alaska!

Best bed and service— Alaskans’ hospitality
It was a terrible stay of two nights! Best bed (voted by the whole family) on the road; free breakfast dine-in with a variety of options; kids can have hot chocolate with cream; dinner can order fresh halibut and salmon; ice cream is always a joy; lake view and free boats for all hotel guests. Kids do not want to leave:)

Service was terrible. The food in the restaurant was bad and service even worse. The "free" breakfast is a scam. It's only served after 8am. if you're in Alaska you're likely getting up early to go fishing, site seeing, or whatever......so you'll not likely ever get their free breakfast. We stayed there two days and didn't get a whiff of the breakfast. I'm not sure how the place is so highly rated.

Sorry to hear you didn't like the food in our restaurant. Just wondering why you did not bring this to our attention at the time when we could have done something about it, As far as breakfast. we serve a sit down order off the menu breakfast from 8am to 10 am daily. This seems to work well with the vast majority of our guests. Most fishing trips, the guides ask that you be at the river at or before 5am. I am sorry but if you book a fishing trip, you would miss breakfast. The majority of all sight seeing excursions start after 9 and you will have time for breakfast. Sounds like you missed breakfast because you had a early morning fishing trip scheduled and decided to take your frustrations out on us.

This is a great home base if you’re looking to explore Seward and Cooper River. The family run lodge serves the best breakfast on the peninsula. Bring you’re fishing poles and take one of their kayaks or canoes out in the lake.

Wonderful stay. Our cabin was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly. The lodge’s restaurant is closed for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and there aren’t many options around, so if you come on one of those, make sure you bring dinner !

The cabins were very comfortable and homey. The Lodge has excellent food and very friendly helpful family run hosts. Nice little pizza and ice cream shop next door. We would visit again.

Great location if you plan to explore the Seward area or take a whale watching cruise or glacier cruise out of Seward.
