Dear Michael,We appreciate your feedback and would like to provide some further information to address your concerns.Regarding your statement about being “sent into a continuous loop”, our records indicate that you completed our digital registration three days prior to your check-in, which we appreciate. On the day of your arrival, you received your check-in code at 1pm and within that message we clearly stated that the check-in time is at 3pm. We emphasize that the check-in time is prominently displayed on our website, in our policies, digital registration (which you signed), as well as in the text/email messages and external websites we utilize for communication.Based on our camera footage, it appears that you attempted to check-in around 230pm, but your code would only work starting from 3pm, as per our check-in policy. We then gave you a backup code which was already installed on the lock so you could check in early. In regard to your mention of the locked lobby door with a sign stating "be back at 2 PM" when you arrived at 12:30 PM, we would like to clarify that our official check-in time is indeed 3pm. Our management team is currently on the property attending to various tasks and may not always be readily available at the office. We have implemented an automated system to communicate all necessary information to our guests.Furthermore, you mentioned that your room was close to the road and experienced loud traffic noise. Please note that our property is situated off the main road, accessible from one of the two entrances into town when heading northbound. It is worth mentioning that the majority of motels in this town, with the exception of one, are located off the same road. Additionally, due to the ongoing July 4th holiday weekend, our town experiences a higher volume of tourism. As a result, increased traffic is expected during this tourism season. We understand that this may have affected your stay, and we will consider addressing this concern with the city of Mt. Shasta, exploring potential solutions such as additional entrances or alternative measures to mitigate noise disturbances.Regarding your comment about our location being surrounded by run down and deserted properties, we would like to provide some clarification. It seems there might be some confusion in this statement.On one side of our property, we have a restaurant, which offers convenient dining options for our guests. Behind us, there are newly built houses, indicating ongoing development in the area. Across the street, you will find a natural setting with trees and other elements of nature. Additionally, on the other side, there is an empty dirt parking lot, which unfortunately, we have no control over.We would like to emphasize that it is quite an exaggeration to claim that we are "surrounded by a bunch of rundown and deserted properties." Hello Russell, We will look into the heater situation. My best guess is that it hasn't been used since March so some type of residue built up in the vents which caused some odor when heated. We will look to update cleaning protocols to avoid a situation like this in the future. Furthermore, our prices are adjusted according to our local market and the current market for standard of living. Our motel is the most inexpensive in the area and we are just trying to keep our head above water as a small private business.Hope you can understand our perspective. Thank you for your business.

Hello Deborah, Thank you for your feedback. We just recently installed the key pad locks (roughly 2 months ago) along with the text message alert system. It has been great thus far in terms of communicating important information with our guests. However, we agree that you should not be woken up from your peaceful sleep due to a text message alert. Our initial thought was most people would have their phone settings on "silence" until they were ready to wake up. And we thought it would be ok to send these messages early to catch the early birds who check out. Unfortunately, that is not the case. After collecting data the past few months and listening to our guests, we have decided to change the times on our text messages. They will be sent so early. We apologize for any inconveniences that may have occurred and always look to improve our protocols to better serve our guest. Hello Dan, Sorry to hear that your experience with us was not a satisfying one. We take our guest feedback seriously and review all points to make sure we are doing everything we can to provide the best service. However, I would like to go over your feedback/complaints and put them in a proper context. Regarding our beds, we have been trying to update them for sometime now but due to supply issues we have been forced once again to push the date. Obviously this is none of your concern but I just wanted to provide some context here. Regarding our tv, we provide over 30 channels so I do not fully understand this comment. Can you offer more context? Or perhaps I could send you our tv guide to review our channels? Regarding the musty smell, we have protocols to ensure the room does not have any lasting odors but we will investigate that room specifically to find the cause, if any. One of our best amenities we provide is our hot showers and guests often rave about it. Recently, we installed brand new water heaters to withstand the demand. Considering you had 4 guests in our 2 queen bedroom, the water heater may have just needed a few minutes to catch up. It's similar to cell phones, if you are in an area with few cell towers but with loads of people, your service will be slower. Imagine being at a concert or sporting event with thousands of people. In addition, according to the CDC, data shows an average shower should last about 8 minutes. Furthermore, you and your party stayed with us on a Friday and Saturday night which had a 60% and 92% occupancy rate respectively. We were not near empty. $169 per night for 4 guests on a summer weekend in a tourist town (let's not forget the current state of inflation here as well), in my opinion, is a great rate. Our competitors charge anywhere from $20-100 more than us. I understand you may have not been happy with some of our services but it is not ok to slander our business with false information. I hope you visit Mt. Shasta again and I encourage you to stay at one of the other fine motels in the area. Mt. Shasta is a beautiful place. Thank you for your business. - A1 Choice Inn
