Pleasant surprise
We were initially dismayed as we drove up to the inn, but were pleasantly surprised to find the inn spotless and bright. We would definitely stay here again.

Easy to find, right on the main street. Parking right in front of room. Check-in was quick. Room was very clean, but found out in early evening the heater didn’t work. We were quickly moved to another room. Rooms were quiet. We were there for two days in late fall. Dining options in town were limited.

We had a lovely time comfortable rooms even though the hotel is older it was immaculate and comfortable and the grounds were beautifully maintain with lots of flowers. The host was perfect. They even accommodated our request for wake up call because I forgot my cell phone number I highly recommend this place.

This was a great place to stay. Price was right. Older hotel, but kept up nicely and clean. Good location in Dunsmuir, walking distance to the market and dining. Would absolutely stay here again.

It was in a pretty part of town. The bed cover and comforter were dirty. On the sheets was hair also.

Family owned and operated with great upkeep. The owner is interesting, warm, friendly and cares for his inn. Wonderful attention to comfort with cotton sheets for the bedding. We’re glad to support a family operated inn.

Nice family owned property. Well kept grounds and building. Could use a little updating inside the room (furniture and popcorn ceilings) but it was clean and comfortable. The lady checking us in was friendly and helpful.

Convenient and clean but overpriced
Expensive for a late ‘70s room with screws in the wall where pictures used to hang. Very dated and old. The front desk people were very friendly and kind. The room was clean but the furniture and wall coverings/picture needs serious updating or pictures on the walls.

Wish I could of stayed longer to explore the town more but we basically just stopped, slept, and left before sunrise. Staff was very friendly at check in

We stayed at the Dunsmuir Inn in Suites recently. It was a good stopping point on the way to the bay area. It was over 100° in Dunsmuir that day, but our room stayed cool & comfortable. It’s an easy walk into downtown. We drove since it was so hot, but a nice walk on a nice day. It’s an old hotel on the old highway, but very well cared for. The proprietors are very nice folks, friendly, and accommodating.

Based on the outstanding reviews and a name evocative of a charming country inn, we expected more. The place is clean and OK, but it is basically a plain box on a relatively busy street backed on railroad tracks. A lot more noise than charm. Expect an Econolodge and you won’t be disappointed.
