Hi Tiffany! I have lived in Nantucket for almost 20 years, you get used to island living and it feels very safe! We’ve never had a problem with the front door being unlocked and it makes it more convenient for guests!I did speak to you about the lock on the shared bathroom door all u have to do is un-click it and it locks, I guess you were sharing the bath with a bunch of girls and everyone has their own way of doing things. Hopefully it wasn’t too disturbing. We have many rooms with private baths. Hope you can come back again and enjoy all the new decorations! it was a pleasure having you! We appreciate your feedback

Dear Joseph, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the size of your room, people pick our most reasonable rooms which have the smaller rooms and micro baths:-) For only $23 more we could have offered a larger room w/ larger bath and distant water view. Let us know next time directly and we can discuss room sizes and their amenities. Hoe you enjoyed the island! off-season...

People like coming in off-season because there are less crowds, and they can enjoy the beauty of Nantucket! But unfortunately some of the restaurants can’t afford to stay open with staff as the season gets quieter! But there’s always enough to keep all of the islanders going along with the visitors:-) Hope to see you on your next trip over!

Dear Jeanne, Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! I think you were in a small standard queen even though the bed is a high four poster bed! I always write on the back of the reservation envelope that there is a stepstool, if needed, and that the bath is tiny! It’s always good to call the innkeeper ahead of time and ask questions about the rooms you are interested in, And whether it fits your style & needs. The health department wants us to use as much packaged materials as possible for less chance of other guests touching your food! Sugars have to be wrapped etc. during Covid we started to wrap the pastries, so they’re would be less touch, Along with presenting small juice bottles rather than pouring out of a community pitcher! According to our health certificate we can’t serve eggs and such. I hope you come back again to the periwinkle, and we would be glad to accommodate your needs!

Periwinkle has some old fashion charm along with some modern amenities, it is a great location right next to downtown with all the great restaurants and shopsAnd a short walk from the Ferries. We are so glad you enjoyed our inn and hospitality!

So sorry that you did not have a good experience @ the Periwinkle Inn! Wish that you had spoken up about any issues that you had, and we would’ve try to accommodate if possible! It’s always good to call the Inn as you Book a room and ask any pertinent questions that may be of concern to you!

The periwinkle is an historic older home! We are constantly improving things! Thank you for your input we really appreciate it! It seems like the nature of the window air conditioners is that they are a little noisy! We change the filters often, we will check on it if we can figure out which room you were in! When we “that there is a Harborview we always say distant Harborview, and I’ve been in those rooms that have that view and have enjoyed seeing a ferry going by but it is distant! There are not too many hotels on Nantucket so close to town w/any water views! If it’s the room I’m thinking about we recently put in a new vanity, mirror, tile floor and all new towel fixtures, The room also has deluxe robes, nice cosmetics, Frette linens & A personal safe! We have a room above it that has a more panoramic view also distant but lovely! I hope you can stay with us again!

We are so sorry that you found the room a little small for your needs! I can’t think of any room that doesn’t have at least a little table next to the bed? In the future, please call the innkeeper directly and ask questions about the size of the room, people generally pick one of the three standard small rooms because of the lower rate, we do have deluxe queen rooms that have more walking around space , an extra chair and a table and larger bathrooms.
