The fabric of the hotel is gorgeous and the grounds are stunning. Our biggest disappointment was breakfast. We had a full English and the bacon was awful. It was over cooked and had then kept in a warming drawer for too long. The result was cardboard that we couldn’t eat. Also the white toast was so dry that it was like a crisp. So disappointing as we always look forward to breakfast when we’re away for the weekend.

Beautiful Location
A beautiful old hotel in a beautiful location. Lots of charm but looking tired in places. Be aware that Breakfast is not included as I didn't feel it was transparent and expected it would be at the rate paid. Some of the staff were really friendly, and welcoming.

The stay was great with very friendly staff and the Dale's grounds are very good, the outside seating are comfortable and great views and can enjoy walks around the Dale's and sheringham park, with sheringham and holt nearby, food was great and tasty

Great country hotel
Lovely hotel Great staff, dog friendly, excellent restaurant. Walk straight from garden into Sherringham Park. Near the coast. Comfy room. But Slow wifi, south facing rooms very hot if sunny. Quite busy with lunch/tea visitors on Sunday Would definitely use again.

I was greatly disappointed, Having seen pictures it quotes of an upgrade I was hopeful, sadly old scratched furniture cannot be an upgrade the only new looking bit was the carpet and curtains. A tiered old corner shower and bathroom with dirty grout on the floor made me want to wear flip-flops in the small corner shower. may I add I paid a premium to get the quoted benefits of a Supreme double, I got a scratched old four-poster bed with a winter duvet in Late humid July, the room was pretty stuffy when I entered so clearly holds the heat. the be and other furniture are pretty outdated and really scratched!! I also booked on behalf of my brother for him a standard double which would mean a double bed. I thought a twin is 2 singles correct? As a fully grown over 6ft man he was presented with 2 singles, when I commented to reception I was told he could have said something and they would have moved him, but that was not really the point I booked in good faith a double. Fawlty Towers could be a good name for The Dales! Sad to place such a bad review but you asked!

I am sorry to read that you were disappointed with your stay with us. We do offer the option to have sheets on the bed, I am sorry if you found the room to be too warm. This is an Edwardian building , and while we can't offer air conditioning we do have fans in all the rooms. The room your brother had is one of our zip and link rooms which was made as a double bed, I am sorry if he was disappointed in this room too.

Wonderful staff, who went out of their way to make our stay perfect - they succeeded! This is the most pet-friendly hotel that I have ever experienced, which took away any stress of having our cocker spaniel with us. The room was large and well equipped; the bed was very comfortable; the dinner was excellent (which the staff served especially for us in the gazebo on the lawn outside our room); and the grounds were scenic. We will stay here again.

Special Anniversary treat
We have visited The Dales many times before and had Sunday lunches and afternoon teas. This time we decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay. We had a lovely room with garden views. It was a very sunny day so we enjoyed a relaxed afternoon sitting in the beautiful peaceful tranquil gardens. The staff were very friendly and polite and the food was good also. Just marked one point down due to very soft pillows which are not to our liking. However we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked again for later in the year. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Dont pay the money for this hotel
Room supposed to be supperial it was very bad just because you put two dressing gowns and two bottles of water in room does not make it good. Thd price paid for room was very expensive and did not include breakfast.we can not say what was wrong with room it would take too long. Meal in evening not good we complained obout one of the meals but no one came to see us two young waiters who were not experienced.we refused to pay for one meal next morning and left before breakfast

I was sorry to read that you were disappointed with your stay with us and that you felt that the room wasn't a superior room. Our superior rooms are our larger rooms and this is one of our popular rooms with a coastal/village view. Breakfast could have been added on when booking with Expedia if you wished too, I am sorry you felt it was too expensive. I have spoken to the team regarding the meal you had, and I apologise hat this wasn't as you expected.

First visit and felt within the first footstep into reception we were going to have the best time! Incredibly, genuine, friendly staff, amazing food/drink/service! How did we sleep?….just imagine being snuggled in a marshmallow 😍. Can’t wait to return ………

Pretty good, but not perfect
Nice and quiet Room was too cold though. Radiator was on but still cold in the night Fish and chips were ok but chips were crunchy undercooked, and all but one were left uneaten Other dishes were good. Menu is excellent, staff are welcoming
