Super property but only issue we had was the room temperature. So hot. Heating was not on in the room but was in the bathroom. Even with the window open didn't make much of a difference. What it would be like in the summer!

A perfectly positioned hotel for exploring the national park. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was amazing, couldn’t fault it! Breakfast basic but all good and fresh, could maybe have been a little hotter. Was upgraded to an executive room which was amazingly spacious. Great comfy bed and coffee/tea facilities. Would highly recommend

Lovely hotel. We really enjoyed our two night break. Room was very clean but small. The breakfast was great. We were given permission to use the car park hours before check in - which after a five hour drive & before climbing Snowdon was much appreciated! We would love to return one day! Keep doing what you’re doing Royal Victoria!

Good service from staff at reception and when ordering food from the bar. Rooms clean and tidy, good shower. Single room a tad small but did the job.

Bed from hell.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was OK. The bed was literally the least comfortable bed I have ever (tried but failed) to sleep in. Like a wonky cardboard box full of broken springs. Room was like a sauna despite turning off radiators and opening window. Hardly slept a wink. Felt awful in the morning. If that bed and mattress are less than 20 years old I'll eat my hat.

Just what you need
We stayed in the annex building (the coachhouse). Twin room. Room was clean and tidy with modern bathroom. Beds comfy and breakfast included. A great stay.

A superb one night stay
Our visit was for a trip on the Snowdon railway, the hotel is conveniently situated almost opposite the train station. The hotel gardens are beautiful, tables and chairs provided for outside drinks, our room was excellent and the food was great. A really enjoyable stay.

Pros - staff were lovely. Room was clean. Cons- room was too small and claustrophobic. Beds not made properly next day. No proper window it was caged and could not open it. Like being in a cell. Very disappointed as looking forward to staying here. Food was badly cooked. Several other people complained about it. Considering it was AA accredited! Greens were raw. Steak overcooked. Fish meal oily. No afternoon tea offered or sandwiches that i could see. Never been to a hotel that does not off sandwiches. If they did they werent on the menu or in book in room. I have been all over the world and this hotel room was grossly overpriced. Would not recommend.

Myself and my wife stayed at the Royal victoria Hotel in seprember 2023. The hotel itself is in an excellent position for walking snowdon or taking the train up .there is ample free parking at the hotel. The hotel itself is clean and tidy , area's could do with updating but overall very good.

Was looking forward to a nice dinner with my wife over the weekend, but sadly disappointed with the quality of the pricy but poor quality food. We think the chef must have mistakenly overly added salt in large quantities to both the soup and lobster dishes which completely obscured any fine taste. In fairness the reception desk have agreed to look into this and I wait with bated breath for their feedback.

Hottest week of the year and given a small fan to keep room cool. Sorry but in todays age air conditioning is needed. Bar area was nice but corridors etc needed a spruce up as it could be a lovely hotel

My short stay at the Royal.
Really enjoyed our stay at Royal Victoria, it’s an old building but well maintained. I loved the walkway from the coach house to the main building, quirky but great if the weather outside weren’t good. Greatly positioned for those looking to climb, or use the steam train to go up Snowden as the Llanberis path along with the station is only five minutes away. Looking forward to going back, this time probably will take the train to the top. Had a great time.

Lovely old house, but was tired and worn. The floor boards were loose so made loud creaking noises every time a guest walked past my room, loud enough to wake me up! The extractor didn't work and carpets were well worn the decor was just very tired. The food and drink was also expensive but the pizza I had was tasty. Breakfast was excellent. But the staff 10 out of 10! very nice and friendly, excellent service. Would I use it again! Yes

Very disappointed, considering cost, not 4-star!
Very disappointing stay. Was by far and away the most expensive hotel I stayed at during my North Wales trip, so expectations were fairly high. Room small and in average/ok condition, nothing special. Hotel is a complete maze, corridors in poor condition with several decade old carpets & could do with repainting. Dinner in the bar was ok… odd that the lovely outdoor area is no where near the bar. Breakfast was dreadful, literally a cafeteria where you stand in a queue to a serving hatch to be dished up typical eggs/bacon etc. Felt like I wanted out of there ASAP. Shall not be back.

So generally hotel was ok as far as room went , and staff very friendly and helpful , the let down for me was the very bland tasting breakfast , been away quite a lot this year , and it was by far the worst breakfast we have had , think it’s just cheap ingredients they are buying , resulting in a bland experience when eating it , shame !
