There was an internal door in the room that gave access to the room next door, which made it possible to hear clearly what was happening on the other side of the wall. I don't recommend it if you want a quiet night's sleep. Other than that, the hotel staff was very friendly.

Great value old-style hotel rooms, really comfortable bed with modern ensuite, comes with Netflix and is close to heart of Launceston.

Sporties has everything you need at a great price, a private bathroom, your own room with a fan, a TV and a fridge. Geoff, who runs Sporties, is a great guy who is friendly, helpful and extremely kind. He allowed me to check in early so I wouldn't have to carry my bags around and sent me a precious photo I accidentally left when I had to leave early for a day trip. Thank you Geoff !

Nice enough, streetlights shining through the shades and reflecting on the mirror kept the room bright at night. People trying to get through the connecting doors several times. Still a nice place.

The pictures were nothing like the actual accommodation. There was not toilet or bathroom in the room like advertised. Ended up leaving and finding alternative accommodation. Absolutely catfished!

Its a budget accommodation premise, an old public house, with seperate but not shared "shower / toilet" facilities, bed linen and provided towels very clean and fresh, water pressure and hot water VERY variable, often runs cold, so not the best. Depending on room location, can be very noisy, as on main road. Access and stairs to upper floor very steep and could be problematic for older people, doesn't appear to have any disabled access to any second floor rooms. Smells a little musky and I remember on a previous overnight stay,the mice/rats under the floor kept me up all night and I wasn't very comfortable with them running amuck under the floor under my bed ... hope this has been resolved! It's cheap and the beer is cold and the meals downstairs are quite good ... OK for an overnighter, but wouldn't want to have an extended stay. Never leave valuables in the room as the door hardware is not very secure and the quality of the locks make for easy pickings!

clean and despite central location street noise and noise from the pub was not an issue. secure area for the accommodation with keyed entrance made a safe space to stay

Bargain rooms esp if youre going to visit the pub
Bargain accomodation with free parking. Toilet and shower was seoarate to room. No kettle but fridge and water/glasses. Best thing is the pub downstairs, lovely friendly staff and great atmosphere especially on pub trivia Tuesdays

Location and staff excellent. The room was clean but mattress was brocken on one side, blind was brocken and didn't keep out light, the window was proped open with a pice of wood and couldn't re open when taken out. No fridge in room but water provided.

Property was in a great location, was clean. Unfortunately blinds need replacing, room was very bright from street light all night which made it hard to sleep.

The hotel met all my expectations, the price was attractive, the friendliness of staff was EXCEPTIONAL when booking in, even though well before the 2pm book-in time, had the key and access to the room.

I am very disappointed with the behaviour of the staff. It is written there is air conditioner in each room but there is none. No ensuite, you have to walk all the way out to the bathroom. Poor customer service. After hours number didn't pickup the phone not even called back.

Firstly, the room is absolutely disgusting. There are still previous guests’ hair on the sheet and significant amount of spit on the ground. Secondly, the reception is extremely lazy. Guests should go across a long, dark and narrow corridor to get outside the hotel after 5 p.m. Thirdly, most of the residents here are not “backpackers”. They are probably homeless junkies who made poisonous loud noises during midnight. Finally, the shared bathroom are also sickly disgusting. Drunken people are vomiting in the sink and toilet, no hotel staff are going to clean it. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!

Location excellent. No A/C is criminal. Tea / coffee making facilities essential as a start. No curtain in shower / toilet looking directly to street is totally unacceptable. Can’t even keep the windows of a non-a/c room open. Easy fix so fix it. Female staff were exceptionally lovely.

Better than expected
Everything you need. The staff were all excellent and very accommodating. Bed was comfy. It was a little inconvenient to have the bathroom down the hall but totally fine, given the price. The only minor issue I had was with the shower, it took a long time to get going with hot water at a flow higher than a dribble and seemed to be affected by other people using the hot water in other rooms as it went cold a few times too.
