Oasis in desert.
Calvinia hotel was like an oasis in the desert. Comfortable, cool and comforting. We had to book for our return trip as well.

The overall impression of the hotel is old and that it needs attention. The wals need paint, the screws of the door handle needs to be tighten, the water pressure of the shower was bad, there was a smell of sewage in the backyard. The new tiles in the bathroom were poorly fitted. The bath showed wear and tear.

Old and tired
Hôtel could bé nice but aging. Swimming pool empty (of course). There are better option on Calvinia. Same for the restaurant.

Thank you for your visit and your review. Due to being a drought stricken area we have very strict rules to abide by. Hopefully the pool will have water - and so our little town - the next time you come visit us. Kindest Regards The Calvinia Hotel Team

Hotel in poor condition, we had room facing into a passage and the bar area, could not sleep till after 11.30pm.
