The day before check-in, I got an email saying Holiday Inn was unable to honor the reservation, and offered to move the reservation to Springhill Suites. I confirmed via email and phone that this was acceptable, and got a confirmation number for Springhill Suites. At check-in with Springhill Suites, I was informed that the Holiday Inn called that hotel to cancel the reservation as they had a room open after all. They did not call me to give me that option, or inform me in any way.
