The space was ok. I could not get the cable to work. Thank goodness one of the residents came and helped me. The front desk was not able to help me and told me to call the main office, after staying on hold for about 20 minutes someone came on the phone and said they will call me back, but never did. Check in was very confusing. I was told to go to a building that was not labeled. The front desk was no help with anything but recoding my room key. Only one elevator worked in the building I was in, in heavy usage time that one did not work. I was told the motor had to cool down.

The property was old and had mold. I didn't receive any instructions before arriving and that lead to calling to office 3 times and 1hr 1/2 of driving around and trying to find the place. Very unpleasant experience.

Unit I had was very noisey! Unit above me must have had no carpet. Therefore, kids running and rolling toys plus adults walking and talking loud made for a very nosey stay. My unit was next to entrance stair door which added to noise level.

Don’t stay here
Oakwood was awful. We had a fantastic stay with them last year, so we chose to use them again this year, but there were changes over the last year we were unaware of. We had to break into a construction site to get our keys from a lock box, a process that took over two hours. They keys didn’t work and intermittently kept failing throughout the week. There was no one on site to help, as there had been last year. Also they erroneously charged us an extra charge of more than twice our correct charge, on top of the correct charge !!! They charged us for our stay AND the erroneous charge. And we didn’t see that charge until we saw our credit card statement. When we contacted them, they didn’t believe us about the charge. I emailed them the screenshot of our statement, and told them if they didn’t fix it immediately, I’d report it to my credit card company as a fraudulent charge. Then they magically found it, but it took 7 days to refund us. The interior was great, but it was hard to ignore all the failures of the service. Also for all the problems, there was never an attempt to compensate us at all. We will never use this hotel again, and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

BAD NEWS
After booking a 4 night stay on Hotels.com we expected the standard email confirm. Instead, we surprisingly got a rental contract we had to sign & return as if we were renting an apartment. There was no Oakwood office as the Hotels.com photo deceptively shows. We were given a code to get keys out of a lock box. The apartment was spacious and appeared clean in the bedrooms and living room. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING. I had to go out & buy cleaner to clean them myself. See pictures attached. The rental contract said parking is free and open yet, the 1st evening, our car was towed. We got it back at 2am. The only onsite mgmt is the apartment complex mgmt which is not Oakwood & they are avail. only during the day. They told us we needed a specific hanging tag parking pass to be displayed from our rear view mirror. This was NOT mentioned in the contract or provided by Oakwood. After repeated emails, phone calls, etc, Oakwood refuses to pay the $160 towing fee stating they are not responsible for towing. We were NOT given parking passes by Oakwood. We followed all parking signage by our building and still got towed. We are still in dispute with Oakwood on the towing weeks later. Elevator in this building was intermittently working. One night, we saw a shopping cart (real classy) left in the hall as the elevator door opened. It was there for days. Oakwood is a large brand and I have used before for corporate. Really surprised they treat folks this way on Hotels.com.

This is not hair from me or my family.
All you need is bleach! Stained toilet bowl. Yuck.

I liked the space of the unite and the location of this hotel in Falls Church Va. Did not like the fact I cannot get 2 separate beds (any size for 2 adults).

Customer service was first class. Lovely one bedroom apartment with fully functional kitchen plus waching machine and tumble dryer. Free parking in the on-site car park. Absolutely no complaints at all. Even offered late check out at no cost.

DC stay
The room was great. Our room was switched from the last email to check in, had to carry entire luggage up and back down to find new room. The room only had one roll of toilet paper, we had to purchase extra, same with trash bags. Finally, a notice of the entire complex being under construction would have been nice. Overall, nice room, just a few quirks.

Check in was horrible. No person available to check us in, 30 minute fight with a key box to get it open, no information. On the flip side, the apartment itself was good. Once in the apartment, things were great- if you could look over all the construction.

I liked being able to stay in an apartment community. The check in process was a bit confusing and the property was under construction/remodeling. One afternoon, I returned to find several cable boxes and remotes on the kitchen counter. Apparently, someone replaced the boxes without taking away the old boxes. It surprised me that someone was in my unit without giving me prior notice.

The building I stayed in was undergoing repairs. Elevators were not available at times. Workers used all the luggage carts. But there is now a swimming pool and the location is excellent.

The code to obtain the keys was wrong and it took an hour to retrieve the keys. The beautiful swimming pool with its magnificent landscaping is now gone and replaced by concrete

Blood stained mattress...yuck.
Although this property was convenient, and had free parking, I would not recommend it. There were blood stains on the mattress (see photo); the door had been jimmied, the chain lock had clearly been breached. The property was not dirty, but there was ample evidence of deferred maintenance. Not one chair in the room was safe to sit on. And it gave an impression of being outdated and poorly maintained. My credit card was charged in advance, and I had to sign a contract as well. We took photos on the way out for fear of retribution.

Comfortable and a little unconventional.
This place was very comfortable. Will stay at again. Just so you know, it's a residence apartment complex. Checking in is a mixture of a hotel check in and a vacation rental by owner kind of deal. Not as awkward as a vrbo type and not quite as smooth as a hotel check in. There's some additional paperwork you don't have to do at a conventional hotel, but it's not bad. The comfort of the place more than made up for it.
