Oakwood was awful. We had a fantastic stay with them last year, so we chose to use them again this year, but there were changes over the last year we were unaware of. We had to break into a construction site to get our keys from a lock box, a process that took over two hours. They keys didn’t work and intermittently kept failing throughout the week. There was no one on site to help, as there had been last year. Also they erroneously charged us an extra charge of more than twice our correct charge, on top of the correct charge !!! They charged us for our stay AND the erroneous charge. And we didn’t see that charge until we saw our credit card statement. When we contacted them, they didn’t believe us about the charge. I emailed them the screenshot of our statement, and told them if they didn’t fix it immediately, I’d report it to my credit card company as a fraudulent charge. Then they magically found it, but it took 7 days to refund us. The interior was great, but it was hard to ignore all the failures of the service. Also for all the problems, there was never an attempt to compensate us at all. We will never use this hotel again, and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
