It has excellent staff and a little older hotel, but it is a great experience.

The hotel, lobby and restaurant are beautiful! The rooms are lacking. Scuff marks and holes in walls, dirty bathroom with hair in tub and on shampoo bottles. Beds are without comfy bedding, thin duvet. Area is fantastic, but wouldn’t recommend.

Being historic, the hotel is old - which is a great unique value proposition but lot of things are swept under the rug - bathroom sink did not drain well, the flooring in the bathroom was lousy in the corners, top floor rooms (we had 2 rooms) do not have full windows so, it got gloomy. These are the could be improved bits and hence the value to cost IMO is not great. The staff is simply amazing! - punctual, professional, always helpful. The lobby is nice and has a fireplace for winter days. The walking score to waterfront & shops is pretty great. Parking is convenient. We did fell safe and enjoyed the time.

Lovely property in an excellent location in Old Towne Alexandria. My room was lovely with beautiful linens, a big bathroom and a quiet location. The staff was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommend.

We always stay here when we visit Alexandria. However, this weekend, we were given an attic room that was spacious but devoid of character (decor) and had only one tiny window with blinds that malfunctioned. It was near a loud humming noise that I eventually slept through. The blinds were only somewhat repaired after we inquired. Friday night front desk was outstanding. Wish every hotel had a super helpful and welcoming team like that. For the money, it was subpar. But, I know they have better rooms, so I will come back. I need to bring my dog. The canine guests looked pretty happy!

Hotel was nice. The front desk staff let me check in early, and was accommodating. One thing that I did not like was the charge for a destination fee. Essentially, I was forced to use their restaurant twice, and that was awful. If I have to return, I will think twice about staying here because of that.

Staff was incredibly kind and informative while helping us prep for our first visit (navigate parking, early check in, and even just finding a wine bottle opener on a Sunday night). Beautiful decor and style to match a gorgeous colonial area, walking distance to too many restaurants and shops to get to if you had two weeks to invest. Many thanks for a great stay.

Sehr angenehmes Hotel was aber auch seinen Preis hat. Bei meiner ersten Übernachtung ( 2 Tage) war ich im Zimmer 210 untergebracht. dort hatte ich ein ständiges Klopfen, wenn der Fahrstuhl unterwegs war. Später auf meiner Rückreise in Zimmer 445 und das Klopfen war nicht mehr vorhanden.

Had some noise coming from ceiling in our room, not sure what it was but it was happening all night. Otherwise the hotel is really nice and great location. Parking isn't too bad but DO NOT drive a tall vehicle in there. I think the max height is under 6 ft. The Wi-Fi wasn't free which I thought was the most annoying part.

December 31st reservations. Upon arriving at the hotel parking garage we discovered there was absolutely NO vacant parking spaces. We learned that free public fireworks were taking place and that people watching the fireworks with no hotel reservations were using parking spaces intended for hotel guests. It was more than disappointing. Other than that our hotel stay was excellent.

Starting to charge mandatory “credit” for food at restaurant, etc. I find that very off-putting. Since I travel their for work often I think I’ll have to find another place. They’ve consistently gone downhill in my opinion over the past few years.

Beware of inconsiderate dog owners
On the second night of our stay we had an issue with the dogs that were in the room next to ours. We returned from dinner to barking that we figured would stop over time. After an hour and a half, contacted the front desk and were told they would try to contact the occupants. An hour later my husband went to the staff at the front desk and was told they had not heard from occupants. Forty five minutes later, at 10:15pm I went to the front desk and was told they had tried the contact numbers for the occupants, got voicemails, left messages but they were being ignored. I told the staff that I either needed a different room or we were leaving, we would not be able to sleep due to the dogs. The staff found us another room, and at 10:30 at night we packed up all our stuff and moved. The dogs clearly had separation anxiety and their owners who were out for the evening , leaving the TV on to console the dogs, were inconsiderate of other guests

This is very very basic hotel with limit services .. rooms on king street side was extremely noisy could hear everything from street .. diff need to update windows and also the heat/air units unreal loud … also do not use hotel parking as lot bossier hotel only $10 per day .. street park east also ..
