Enjoyed Our Stay!
We enjoyed our cabin. Only a couple of concerns: the air conditioner was old and never stopped running (it didn’t interfere with out sleeping) and the shower was more of a mist instead of a spray. My wife was afraid to wash her hair. She was concerned about being able to wash out the soap. However, we would consider staying there again if we were in the area.

Cozy Cottage on the Lake
We loved being right on the lake and taking the boats out this morning was a highlight. Though smaller than we expected, this was rustic stay on a beautiful lake.

I loved these cottages. It felt like a little community right on the lake. Everyone was friendly, staff and other guests included, and the proprietor Nancy even gave us a customized mug for our stay. The lake is serene and is great for boating and swimming. They have a lot of kayaks and water toys for your use. The cottage itself was cozy; we loved having the front porch to relax on and watch the sun over the water. It comes with a pretty complete kitchenette that we would have utilized more if we were spending more time in the cottage. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, it was too firm and our muscles definitely hurt after a few nights on it. We also wish there had been more hooks/shelves to put things like wet towels and bathing suits. We would definitely return!

Lack of upkeep on the property. Kayaks just left on the ground( not clean.. brackish water inside. Beds were horrible!!

Unique and beautiful stay on Harvey Lake. Owners were very kind, communicative, and accommodating! The cabin was well stocked, clean, and comfortable.

I didnt need to bring a thing except clothes and food. Cottages are clean and well equipped and remind me of something my grandparents might have stayed at which I liked. The cottage was literally 3 yards to the lake. I had fun kayaking in the kayaks they had provided. Nancy and Lee are great hosts, and I really enjoyed my vacation.

The owners were accommodating. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable. There are good places to eat nearby. There is also a grocery store, not too far away. They have nice gas grills at each cottage and screened in porches. But...the salmon cottage was just too small for the two of us. The cottage was leaning toward the lake and sits just off a busy highway. It is a one room bed, and kitchenette with a dorm type refrigerator. The "beach" area was a small area in front of another cabin. The kayaks and paddle boat left a lot to be desired, but they are free to use. There may have been better ones already in use? Owners are very sweet, yhey check on you and make sure you have everything you need. House is clean and perfect for our family. The lale is clean and taken care of you can even take out boats for no extra fee. We had so much fun, we can't wait to go back.

My boyfriend and I went up with our dog, the cottages were truly pet friendly, the cottages were clean and comfortable!! We ended up having the best time while we were there and plan to book again next year!

Clean rustic cabin. Simple kitchen with basic items. Internet with Netflix. Each cabin had individual gas BBQ as well as fire ring. Sandy beach for young free use of Kayaks. Owner was on site and quick to check on guests. Price per week for reasonable. Not anything I would complain

Right on the lake. Very small but functional beach. Somewhat near a main road, so you get traffic noise during certain hours. Nothing that impacts sleeping etc.

Perfect place to take kids. Children were up at the crack of dawn to take out kayaks and paddle boats. They went fishing all day long and had a blast. Great start, Nancy texted me to tell me my cabin would be ready before 11, and she would check up on me after I had arrived. Cozy little cabin, was perfect for a day to myself, wish I had more time to use lake and boats.

If you are looking for 5-star accommodations, this isn’t for you.....HOWEVER, if you are looking for a 5-Star experience, this could be perfect. The cabins are rustic, but ours (the orange cabin) was clean and just a few feet from the lake. Since we are on a road trip and eating out most places, we decided to go to the store and picked up some ribs to cook and eat on our porch overlooking the lake. They have a bbq and basic needs for eating utensils (plates, cups, etc). We had a very pleasant experience. There is a small beach entrance, and water toys - paddle boat, kayaks, floaties. At 9:00 the morning of the day we were checking in, I got a message from the owner Nancy, saying our cabin was ready for us any time we would arrive! (Have NEVER had anything like that happen before!). We weren’t able to arrive until around 4:00, but once we got settled in and we’re sitting outside on the provided chairs looking over the lake, Nancy came to greet us and we had a very pleasant conversation with her. As we were just passing through on a road trip, we won’t likely be going back, but this will be one of the most memorable stays on our trip! 😃

We booked for 2 nights but left after the first.
This is a poorly maintained old place. The beds had seen better days and we really did not get any sleep. The hot water heater under the bathroom sink is barely big enough to get one quick shower. The place is poorly lit and when we arrived around 8PM I could not see a large rock that was in the path to the front door. No outside door light although the porch light was on but it did not light up the entrance door into the porch. There was no curtain in the bathroom so my wife took one of the towel's and made a make-shift curtain. The entrance door on had no deadbolt and the only security on the door is small sliding lock which did not align properly and was very hard to lock plus really did not provide adequate security. I could go on and on with various issues. We made reservations for two nights but left after the first and lost the payment for the second night as per the agreed up contract. I really do not know how they stay in business.

I booked our stay about six months in advance, and we were really looking forward to a relaxing getaway with a great view. I want to start off by saying that this cottage had everything we would need to have a good weekend. It even had WiFi and Netflix, which worked fairly well even during the rain. It had great access to the lake, and plenty of kayaks on site! Checking in was a breeze, we literally just arrived and the cottage was open for us. With all of that said, the pictures on the website are a few years old, the bushes were so over grown in front of our cottage that we could hardly see the lake from the porch. The location was directly on a main road, so if you're looking for some serenity this isn't the place. We heard the cars passing at all hours of the night. Cleanliness was our biggest issue with our cottage, which I hope was a fluke because the other reviews seemed to be all positive at the time of booking. The plates, utensils, and frying pan were all visibly dirty, and we ended up cleaning them all before use. Finally, there is a reason that there are no bathroom pictures. The cottage provided plenty of towels, bars of soap, and shampoo - but the shower was approximately 2 1/2' x 2 1/2' and the floor in our shower looked like it had mold. This wouldn't have been a huge deal is we were able to take full showers, but the hot water only lasts for 3 minutes at a time. This has the basics, but if you're looking for any sort of glitz or glamping, look elsewhere.

The pictures must not be any where near recent- there is not one cabin that can actually see the lake from the porch as all have shrubs and trees grown between the cabin and the lake. The swimming area is small as there is only a small section in the water cleaned out to swim. The twin beds are uncomfortable, and let me say that I was almost scared to step in our teeny tiny shower area- we actually went out and bought a bath mat to stand on and I ended up using the flash light on my phone to see while showering (propped on top of the shower). We picked this place to stay because I really just planned to relax by the water and use the boats (nice perk). So the price was right and I got to do as planned. The owner is nice and checked in on us a couple of times. The place is dog friendly which is another plus (though on a busy road). If you plan to do anything other than relax you will have to drive about 45 minutes. But hey for less then $100 a day, I got what I paid for and we had a fairly good time.

Absolutely loved this place!!!
Recently booked 2 cottages while on a road-trip with my family. I can't say enough good things about our stay. The cottages were clean and ready for us, check-in was as easy as it gets. We stayed in the blue and orange cottages, both will plenty of room. The setting on the lake was beautiful and we even grilled out that evening on a gas grill they provided. We went out on the lake in their canoes and kayaks. And all that for the price of about $100 per cottage. If I am pleased with a room while road-tripping I normally say that I would definitely stay again if in that area again but the Cottages at Harvey Lake have me thinking of coming back to New Hampshire on a future trip. Excellent, A+++, 5 stars. This place was amazing! Thank you Nancy for having us

Rustic but good value.
Great little rustic cottages. If you don't mind old school do-it-yourself lake cabin living, this place is great for the price. If you are into elegance and upscale interior design, this place will horrify you.
