The staff welcomed me warmly, opened the room and showed me the workings of the blinds, etc. The property is very clean and has been updated. It is well worth the cost - I would recommend it in a heartbeat and have already done so.

Property is a unique roadside motel that you don't see much anymore, but the owner is working hard to keep it relevant to today's modern traveler and our expectations. OK for a place to rest and sleep for one night.

Great Stay
Our stay at Mount View was great. John the proprietor was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. He was also very informative about the town of Oliver and the surrounding area. He made some spot on recommendations of some great wineries to visit. Our room was newly renovated comfortable and quiet. We’ll definitely check in again the next time we’re in Oliver. Steve.

Great find!!
John was very welcoming at our arrival. We found everything, including extra pillows all ready for us. The kitchenette, newly remodeled bathroom and WiFi were all wonderful.

It had a dulky equipped kitchenette which was very handy. The owner who ran the motel is very friendly. The place is also dog frindly which was important to us. Overall a nice pleasant stay in the heart of Oliver.

Mount View was a fantastic motel, the rooms were very comfortable. Although we did not use the kitchenette, it would be a great addition if you are staying longer term.c

The outside appearance was not impressive. The motel has 7 rooms total. Was disappointing when I first arrived, however, the room we had was freshly redone and the beds were comfortable.

Thank you for your stay at Mount View Motel. It takes time to rebuild a 70 year old Motel. The rooms and guest comforts are high priority, exterior lower priority.

There was a mutual error made between my mom and the owner/manager. Not a hello, not a “oops I think we made an erro”. Instead he approached me aggressively, pointed and started yelling. I was confused as I was not a part of their conversation. I rented two rooms through Expedia. When my mom phoned she said “two rooms under (insert my name) and he said “oh that’s unusual”. So. When we got their, he came and stood at the door of my truck and stared at me. I said “hello” and pointed at me, stated my name, and yelled “when you phoned you stated two rooms for you, and another one for your parents”. Well we certainly did not. I said “I guess it was an error sir” and he says “well YOUR error cost me $160! So my parents to bring as kind as they are, wanted to make peace so they offered to pay the $160. (I wouldn’t have). And he was still terribly rude to my elderly parents and told them he did not want their money, to leave $20 for the housekeeper. “Tomorrow leave your key on the table and just go”. I’m not sure where he would have lost &160, because out of 9 rooms, 4-5 were unoccupied all night. Moral of the story is; he would have gained a lot of business approaching this subject kindly, as we will be making a lot of trips through there coming up. So, he lost way more than $160, as he will never get our business again. Treat people with kindness folks. It doesn’t hurt, and in this situation the so called error (just look on Expedia SIR, only two rooms were rente

If anyone is interested in hearing my side, how I turned people away, losing revenue because a guest insisted that she had 2 rooms in her name with a phone call confirmation, when she had 1 one in her name and totally different reservation in a different name. I saved her 2 rooms, the other reservation wasn't in her name but it was her's as well.I took the lose of revenue, pissed off.If they would have never called to confirm anything, all would have been all good.
