I wish saying that this was the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel was a joke, but alas, it is not, and it has ensured I will never book with a La Quinta ever again.
1) we checked in and the clerk said he tried to run our card earlier in the evening when we weren't there, and it was declined, so we had to provide a different card or pay cash because that card can no longer be used. (Called bank the next day and card is fine...?)
2) Every day, we had to go back down to the reception desk and have our card for the room changed because it no longer worked.
3) we got room service on Tuesday but Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday nothing. We asked about it on Sunday morning and our room was so passive aggressively cleaned that day, it was comical. The beds had literally just had the blankets and sheets thrown on them, new cups had been tossed onto the microwave, and all the towels (including the clean ones) had been taken.
4) Sunday, I get an alert from my bank that the hotel has charged my card. Um, we paid cash at check in. Oh apparently the first guy told us the wrong amount and my card got charged for the difference without ANYTHING being said to us... and they charged the card that was declined and was said that could no longer be used.
I will say, the shining spot of this hotel at the moment is the woman who works in the afternoon/early evening. She was absolutely wonderful, and so apologetic by the end.
