Fab location and gorgeous property. No watdrobes in the rooms. Noisy fridge in bedroom. Dinner amazing. Breakfast not so good. Expensive for what it was. Staff were lovely.

5 star service at 4 star prices. Excellent meal prepared and served with characterfull professionalism. Beautifully cooked and Jude's Ice cream a perfect choice to serve.

Wonderful pub with castle and large rooms. The food was excellent and the view at breakfast was superb. The only thing was that the hot water is on demand electric but didn't work very well.

Best way to describe this stay is unique. The suite was spacious, enough room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Basic continental breakfast (croissant, cereal, fruit yogurt, orange juice) was provided in a little box, and were able to eat in our room. This helped a lot with having one child with ASD. Staff were friendly, best that I have had in a UK hotel so far. Would have loved to spent more time here, so could experience the restaurant.

Awesome!!!
We stayed in the Cromwell Suite, oh my goodness!!! Absolutely awesome, a huge living room, with comfy sofas and a huge tv. The bedroom was beautiful, such a comfy bed. Bathroom can only be described as brilliant.

Excellent stay
We stayed in the Cromwell suite for a birthday trip. The room and property was beautiful. The staff was amazing. So helpful and friendly. The restaurant downstairs served excellent food. Overall the stay was amazing. Would definitely recommend! It was the highlight of our stay in England.

Our family of 5 stayed here for 1 night. My children loved staying in a castle! The staff was very nice, especially the bartender who checked us into our room. Beautiful views of the area from the dining room. We stayed during the weekend so had the pleasure of the full English Breakfast. The suite was updated nicely with the exception of the flooring. And the shower caulking was in dire need of replacement as it was black all around the shower pan. We did appreciate the sofa bed and cot being set up prior to our arrival and my kids loved the free juice in the fridge. The parking could be challenging as they have a small lot and was full when we arrived, although this was during the dinner rush so probably a big part of it. Definitely a unique stay.

Pre-Wedding Stay
We stayed at the Castle for the 2 nights before my wedding at Hadsham Farm Weddings. We ate dinner in the pub/restaurant, and had continental and cooked breakfast. The food was delicious on all occasions, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful. We've already recommended the hotel to others to stay and we will definitely be back

Overall an enjoyable stay; but 1 - check-in time is totally inflexible (we flew in overnight and we’re up for over 24h when we arrived, exhausted) and 2 - the bathroom had an unpleasant smell (a bit like cat urine?). Once checked in though, the room was spacious and comfortable. The grounds unique and historic and the staff was great!

I was in the Sir Jacob Astley suite which was lovely. The only fault I had was even with lights on the bathroom and dressing table area was very dark so I ended up doing my makeup by the front door. I appreciate the darkness may be caused by the renovation work with the scaffolding etc outside the window by the dressing table.

Such a beautiful place, staff were lovely, attentive and friendly. The views from the garden and dining room are stunning. Food lovely and enjoyed the cocktails. The garnish was gathered from the garden by the barman. It was a hot weekend and our room was wonderfully cool and we had a good night's sleep. Minor issue with the bathroom but hopefully they can be fixed. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends too.

I was more than a little concerned on Sunday night when I realised I was probably the only person staying at the Castle - no other cars in the parking lot and Castle dark. I was in the Vesey room with a glass door directly off the driveway. Not a safe feeling. The property is unique and the view incredible.

Great stay … apart from the mattress
Really great and quirky building with lovely staff, lots of amazing features and views to die for. Slightly surprised by the DIY Continental breakfast (but the ingredients were very good). Very sadly disappointed that the mattress was not at all comfortable. We had a superb afternoon tea at the hotel and some great local walks. Would certainly recommend if the mattresses were all upgraded to a Premier Inn standard at least!

Loved the room and the views were amazing. There was quite a lot of noise from room above on first night. Large room but needed a table to eat breakfast and do some work. TV was a little small to watch from bed; text was small for information. Food in restaurant was really good. Service delightful.

Terrible room but nice restaurant and staff.
Food at the restaurant was good but the quality of the room, its cleanliness and condition was very poor. Black mould in the shower, terrible water pressure from a poor electric shower which tripped the electric. The vinyl flooring was not secured so was torn and bunched up in areas, the shower riser rail was broken and it is in no way worth the £101.00 fee. Nice location and the staff were pleasant but somewhere that could be great is just run down and poorly maintained. Food was very good in the restaurant but the room let it down.
