Essentially a private room hostel, it’s a safe and easy spot to stay, great location in Panajachel (just a couple minutes walk to the lake). The staff is friendly and responsive.

Good value
Staied in large room on top with own terrace. Great reception by hotel staff. Good value for money. Only cold water in shower.

La habitación muy cómoda al igual que las camas y muy bonita y limpia, muy bien ubicado en toda la vía Santander varios restaurantes cerca con muchas opciones de comida, los embarcaderos para los pueblos al igual que para sta cruz muy cerca a unos pocos pasos, la atención muy buena, tiene agua y café todo el día y cocina y nevera a disposición aunque no las usé se veían muy bien y limpias, hay un loro hermoso Capricho. Viaje inolvidable
Un lugar muy acogedor, muy limpio, la atención como huésped fue muy buena, los trabajadores del hotel muy serviciales. Tienen agua y café gratis todo el día. Lo mejor del hotel es su ubicación, tuve acceso al centro de Panajachel pude realizar mis actividades muy comidamente.

This hotel is in good condition, nice rooms and ambiance. It has a great location along the main road and close to the lake, easy access to food, shopping, ferries. The main intersection of the road plays loud music, but you are at the opposite end so it is quiet except for a rooster that continuously crows all through the night...bring ear plugs! :D This place was safe and great value.

Hotel muy bueno, con excelente ubicación!
El hotel tiene una limpieza impecable, en el lobby Cristian muy amable nos asesoró con respecto a las actividades en mis alrededores. Excelente ubicación.

Location is great. Room is good size for 3 people. 5% credit card surcharge is very high and not necessary. Bathroom lacks privacy with window directly looking into neighbouring hotel.

I had reserved a third floor room with private rooftop terrace but when we checked in at 2pm we were told that the only room available was on the main floor right next to the office, kitchen and washing machine. We were not given a discount . The beds were comfortable but it was noisy with people talking by the office very early in the morning and some kind of pump going on and off constantly. The small courtyard was pretty and it was set far enough back from the main street that we didn't heard the Saturday night party crowd.

Súper limpio y céntrico. No comimos en el lugar. Tienen agua y café gratis por las mañanas. En el mero centro del pueblo. Recomendable!

Ok budget hostel
We had booked a room with 2 beds but we ended up with one queen size. I was traveling with my brother so it wasn't too comfortable to share the bed. Also, you couldn't close the bathroom door. However, the room was clean and the place was very cosy. The location and the Wifi was great. I also like that they had free water and coffee.

An ok hostel
El Viajero is a very charming place at the first impression. Me and my boyfriend were put in a very nice private room with an ok private bathroom. Breakfast was not included, which it was fine, though for the price (USD35) it should be. We wanted to stay another night, but the room was not available anymore, and they wanted to move us to another room a bit more expensive. We decided it wasnt worth it and went to a 20 dollar hostel next to it, since we would only spend the night and be out the whole day. The staff was not very friendly, they did not have any map or helpful informations about the city, and for sure, if you want to book any tour or shuttle, you have to go out to some agency on the streets, since the hostel doesnt seem to provide any of those services. Overall, an ok stay that could be way better if the people working there wanted to.

buenas tardes gracias por su comentario, déjeme informarle que lamentablemente el siguiente día solo tenias disponible una habitacion triple y pues si estaba un poco mas cara, sobre información y mapas pues lamentamos que ese día no teníamos para dar pero bien tenemos varios mapas que tenemos en recepcion sobre la informacion de los pueblos y el mapa de panajachel, ademas tenemos letreros ofreciendo transporte hacia cualquier parte de Guatemala e información y venta te tickets para conocer cualquier lugar del lago atitlan o bien realizar tour guiados, lamento el inconveniente con el personal y gracias por el comentario.

It was a pretty good hotel. The location was perfect, you can walk around town, eat at a good restaurant or even buy colonial art near by.

Small hotel or Nighttime daycare for family's kids
The first room that was booked was on the garden, and the room was despicably small. OK, I thought, can make do with this. The bathroom was clean, though the room had dirty floors near the corners. What was most difficult to comprehend were the owner's family's kids making noise and screaming in the evening. Wanted to get an early rest and make it nearly start of sight seeing in the morning. Could not get to bed until after the kids were sent to their rooms and had an extreme migraine and wondered why I am staying in this place. Very inexpensive, on the strip... Though no sleep. Also, there was a group that came into the place very late and used blender at 11:30 pm and none of the staff walked into the kitchen to correct them. I was about to ge tout of bed, then the blender stopped, and just heard a little chatter until 12 am..... I paid to switch rooms the next day and was away from the first floor garden.

Very warm, welcoming, and hospitable.
Located just minutes away from the lake and right on the main strip. The staff are very accommodating and overall has a very welcoming home feel to it.

Worst night in Guatemala
This was a terrible night, i wish i could see the reviews before. The hotel is also a home of a family so that comes with noise from downstairs (children, tv, and a parrot...). As for the room itself, the bed sheets were so old and used that you wake up at night because it's so itchy, the pillows could not even support your head. There's sign on the door says that hot water available from 6-9 am/pm. There were no hot water. After asking twice and hour later there were hot water that lasted for 10 minutes. Also, the shower windows are not covered so people can see you from the next building. Wifi was terrible too. Do yourselves a favor and book somewhere else.

convenient location hotel
The place was pretty with tropical plants around and a cute parrot that greeted you but the rooster crowing from 3 am on was not pleasant. The online price was more than they charged to others who showed up without a reservation. It was set off the road which was nice and the location was convenient to the lake, restaurants, ATM's, etc.
