Bad Experience
The Hotel is closed and blocked off. The company that owns the property (Seahaven Beach Resorts) is up the street. But you do not know that until you arrive at the desolate building.

Palm Grove is the worst place I’ve ever experienced! When I got there-the office had a sign in the window saying they were closed with a note on the door saying to drive a mile down the road to another hotel to check in. So I did. When I put the key in the door of the room to open it-the door almost fell off the hinges! You actually had to lift up on it to get it to shut. The room had an air conditioner going full blast but it was hotter inside the room than outside! I went back & told them I couldn’t stay in that room so they gave me another room key-2202. I found 2201,2203 & 2204 but no room had 2202 on it! There was a room next to 2204 but it looked like the number identifying the room had been ripped off the wall. So I tried my key in that door and it wouldn’t work. So I get back in my car & drive back to the other hotel. I tell them I walked all over the property up & down stairs in the 100 degree weather looking for room 2202 and that I tried my key in the door of what I thought was 2202 & it wouldn’t work. They tell me they have no other rooms available & to get in touch with Hotel.com to get a refund. So I sat in their office in tears talking to Hotel.com for 45 minutes. They were very nice & put me up at a super nice hotel. I would not recommend Palm Groves to my dog!! Was the worst experience ever!

This place didn’t have a microwave, but one thing it did have was roaches and mold. They didn’t even mention that the office to the building was closed or that we’d have to check in at The Reef a couple buildings down.

It was horrible . Room was dirty and service nonexistent at night you get attacked by Roaches . I checked out a day early because we could not handle it another night . The pool was green and had to be closed by a manager. Never again

Horrible stay
We booked a 3 room suite period there was not 3 rooms. There was only 2 period the a room only had one window unit as well as only a fan. That was supposed to cover all the areas period then then when I tried to talk to the front desk The woman became very rude and said. They don't have any 3 room suites they could move me to. There was Mold in the window unit period the boards outside the door were very rickitty period the room smelled of Mold period there was no microwave period We got moved to another hotel. And when my agent tried to speak with the manager. /front desk person, she refused to speak to them.

Do not stay here. It’s a scam. We arrived at check in time and the office was locked and dark. We waited over an hour before booking another place. We drove by multiple times over the next few days. It was always dark and locked.

I have never been in a hotel so dirty, and uncomfortable. The AC didn’t work properly, the shower curtain and the tub had fungus, the smell of the room was horrible. I paid 200 dls for this crap. This is unacceptable and they should renovate asap and not provide service until is clean. I just don’t have words of how disappointed we are about the stay. My family and I couldn’t sleep due to the heat and smell. We left at 6 am just to get out of the hotel.

Overcharged me for key deposit, had to dispute with bank. NO WiFi, Palmetto Bugs everywhere, deluxe 3 bedroom is Only 2 bedrooms with a double in one and 2 sets of bunks in another. The ocean view from the room was laughable, I could only see the ocean if nobody parked in front of my door. There was no way to cook anything, no microwave, one pan with no handle. You could see daylight through the doors and heard cars honking all night. I only stayed One night at Palm Grove and was transferred. to Seahaven, which was a much better property, with an awesome view of the ocean, including WiFi and a microwave.The staff was a pleasure including Debbie, Taye, and Doug. The beach was right there. It's a shame someone doesn't keep up with the Palm Grove property better since it's historical, I heard it's being demolished in the Fall from one of the workers.

The Hotel is horrible, its broken, it has mold, the rooms smell damp if you dont want to have a hard time DO NOT RENT IN THIS PLACE, its scary, and if you have children dont go! Get what you pay for
Office is NEVER open. You have to go 1/2 mile away to another hotel for help. Inadequate a/c. Black mold in the bathroom. Holes in the walls. A bolted shut sliding door, not useable. A/C condensation leaking on the room floor. When built in the ‘50s, it was Peeks Beach Hotel. Not much has been improved since then.

This place is a SCAM
Do not stay here they rip people off all their photos on their sites is not what you're going to get everything is old and falling apart. We have had our vacation scheduled for 1 month and all they wanted to do was try to take all of our money and then tell us that they can accommodate us and made us leave and we had to find something else which there was nothing until the next day We had to stay in a motel 6 miles away from Panama City Beach because of this hotel

The only thing i liked was the lady who checked me in, debbie. This place is terrible. Dont waste your money because you won't get a refund, not even the $50 deposit for a key! I had to book another hotel the next morning. It literally smelled like sewage. The balcony door wouldn't open. I could see daylight through the front door. The room was so very hot, the window a/c unit blew against a wall in front of it. It's just so very bad and i didn't feel safe with just myself and 16 yr old son. A refund would have been nice but nothing.

This place was absolutely disgusting. Multiple roaches in the rooms, a group of roaches by the pool, crawling everywhere outside. The pool was filthy. No one to work front desk for any of your needs during certain hours/days. Not to mention the many people that walked up to us outside of the hotel room telling us they’d recommend staying somewhere else cause the place was “sh**” … no plungers in the bathrooms, no trash cans. A bunch of people on drugs knocking at our door at 2 in the morning… you name it, it’s ridiculous. Also, we were told that this is the last year of the hotel being opened, which is a good thing! :)

The Palm Gove Hotel should be called Palm Grove Hell. For starters, you get an email telling you to check in on site which is a lie. Had to drive to another location, ok I sucked it up. We booked a large room with plenty of space to be put in a tiny room with two full beds. Three adults and three kids couldn't fit. Since all other places were booked, we either had to stay or drive 7 hours home. Our family had to buy an air mattress and clean bedding. The room was disgusting and had wires coming out of every wall. We had a sliding glass door with broken curtains but it was bolted shut because of pool access. The pictures we saw weren't even close to what we walked into. The staff all looked like they were on drugs and were not in any way helpful or willing to reimburse us for any troubles we had. The website offered a microwave, but we didn't have one. The parking lot had sinkholes and smelled horrid all the time. The only halfway possible thing I could say is how close to the beach we were. Other than that stay anywhere else if you want a clean and relaxing vacation.

The pictures must be from when it was originally opened. Run down, poor condition, phone number was disconnected. Had to go to another location for check in, lots of excuses of why. Do not recommend for any reason. Pay the extra money to stay at a better place!

Old, old old building. Some areas did not look safe, rotting boards on walkways. Workers were kind and helpful. The lady that checked us in and out was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I think her name was Debra (but can’t be for sure). Our room did not have any bedside tables, unfinished repairs in kitchen area, just overall a dump!

Worst place i have ever stayed. Holes in drywall, mold in shower, no toilet paper holder, sliding doors that don't open along with holes where old door handles were. No Wi-Fi in this modern age as well. Told to use the restaurant across the syreet. No persons on dutyy 24 hours!

This place was just okay enough to justify staying there. It smelled weird, the TV didn’t work, sheets were scratchy, and it was really loud and lights from the street were pouring in all night. All that was in the room is a double bed, a bunk bed, a mini fridge, a lamp, a chair, and then the bathroom. That’s it. We definitely thought about going to a different hotel. Staff was really friendly but I feel like they have to be. This place is fine if you literally just need a place to crash.

We stopped and saw the property as it was on the way to check in at the Reef. Filthy! Falling apart. Blinds broke in almost every window. Horribly dirty pillows pressed against window that was used as a headboard. Rotten boards , people sitting in cars behind building that was the parking lot on beach side smoking marijuana. Went to check in and was able to get room at sister hotel. Should have read reviews before but didn’t. Lady at check in admitted they used the best room for pictures in the inside and the ones from the outside were taken 6 years ago. The property is to be demolished after this summer to make way for houses. Do not book this property!

This needs torn down! DO NOT STAY HERE
So terrible, we left right away and booked another hotel. This hotel should be condemmed. It was filthy, disgusting and no person would ever want to be inside. There were scary looking people outside of the building, heckling us when we walked in. This place is not safe. It should not be allowed to operate as a business. There was stale food in a drawer. Mold and rust everywhere, exposed pipes, torn and dirty floors, old crusty bedding. The smell was so awful. The locks on the doors werent secure. The blinds were torn. The outside looks terrible also. We booked online and paid 150.00. I have never seen a hotel in this shape.
