It was an amazing experience. Pretty quiet and to get shopping or good food you need to take the warer taxi to boca Island but all in all pretty good experience.

Excelente ubicación, con acceso a la playa a unos pasos, cerca de buenos restaurantes y vida nocturna, con un dolar podíamos tomar una lancha para ir a isla Colon, pero estar en la tranquilidad de isla Carenero. Son unas casitas sobre el mar que no tienen nada de envidiarle a otras más costosas, aire acondicionado, ventilador, agua caliente, caja fuerte, una neverita y una linda vista desde el balcón con sus sillas para tomar el sol.

Great location! Lovely paradise ❤️👏 this place is amazing, being at this island is magical. No coffee in the room, but there is coffee in the restaurant included every morning. No water in the room, in the restaurant they have or small market they have bottle water. One of the rooms didn’t have hot water and no cable, but the second have it nice. We love the experience, the owner a great person and the staff very nice too. Best place to stay, we saw all color fish 🐠 just there in the room deck, safe for kids, lovely views great location

It was exactly what the reviews say, great town and ao easy to get around on water taxis. Loved the floating bar nearby too. We.left a few shorts and they sent them to us immediately in Panama City, great customer service.

El concepto de casita sobre el agua es muy lindo pudimos ver peces e inclusive una raya bajo la habitación, por desabastecimiento de la isla los servicios de luz y agua fueron interrunpidos sería buena que el hotel tenga su propia planta. El personal fue muy amable y agradable. Lo recomiendo.

The staff was truly some of the nicest people in the world. It hurts that the hotel itself was such a bad experience, because judgement on the people alone they were wonderful. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was not what apparently it used to be. There are roaches in one of the buildings (in one of our rooms), the showers were peeling or moldy with bad water pressure. The sheets on the bed were not always clean and the air-conditioning barely worked. The key cards to the doors easily demagnetized, and some rooms just wouldn’t open in general. We ended up having to get three different rooms (only 2 nights). The first room switch was because the staff couldn’t get us into the room, and the second switch was because we had roaches in the room all night.

Because first of all the keys of our hotel are not magnetic, they are normal the old one that has always been used, and here according to their reservation they were only 1 night and not two as it says, for me you are confused that you do not even know what hotel it is talking. In addition, we never had problems with cockroaches, but it could be that he saw one, but saying what he wrote seemed unnecessary, not to mention the other lies he wrote.

I had a confirmed, non-refundable reservation for this property. The day before I was to arrive at the property, I get a notification saying that my reservation was cancelled, and instead it was rebooked for 3 days later. I couldn't believe that the resort and Expedia would do such a thing without my knowledge or consent. I wasn't even going to be in the area in 3 days, so for them to cancel a non-refundable, confirmed reservation and then willy-nilly rebook me for a night 3 days later without even asking me was appalling. Expedia should not allow its hotels to rebook guests at their own discretion, without the guest even knowing about it let alone agreeing to it. Just appalling. It ruined my vacation, since not only did I have to find another lodging for the night that they cancelled, I was stressed about them charging me for a non-refundable night that I didn't even book!

Loved the owner Adriano and the over water bungalow experience. However due to our preference of crystal clear waters we were not comfortable jumping in off the deck when we saw a sting Ray under us. Also once you jump off you have no ladder or way to get back up so you would have to swim all the way to the beach to walk back to your condo. Loved the breakfast and water taxis noise did not bother us. Just not such a nice island or beaches like Red frog ( on Bastimentos) or we heard starfish beach ( on Isle colon) Enjoy it’s worth the cost and experience for a few nights

The property is a bit run down and could use some Reno’s. The concept was cute. We loved the deck off the back but there wasn’t any cushions for the wood lounger’s so it was pretty uncomfortable. The owner and his Dog are super nice.

El dueño fue muy atento y nos dió recomendaciones. En general nos gustó la estancia y dormirse escuchando las olas fue una maravilla. Los únicos puntos negativos que podríamos mencionar son que las sábanas de la cama tenían manchas amarillas y que un día el agua de los grifos salía marrón, pero entendimos que el problema del agua fue un problema general de la isla y no específicamente del hotel.

Terrific 1st Time Stay in Bocas
This was my first visit to Bocas, so I don’t have the greatest barometer in comparing different places to stay in the area. Having just been to Costa Rica & Nicaragua in the weeks previous though, I’d say this was better than what I’d experienced in the neighboring countries. Staff were the nicest people and my little yellow cabin on the water for a week was magic !!

Location was amazing, right on the water. Easy to catch water taxi to any location. The only draw back is the water taxis travelled close to the location so there was some noise.

The convenience of being close to surf breaks and to the town of Bocas was perfect. The staff of Adriano and Angel were absolutely amazing and beyond friendly. Breakfast was included which was a nice surprise. I would absolutely stay here again

Our cabin was great. We swam in the water around our cabin, and enjoyed sitting out on our private deck over the water. The staff was friendly, and helped us book a wonderful tour of neighboring islands with a pickup at our dock. The property is on Carenero island are provides a tranquil alternative to Bocas. It is only a $2 boat ride to Bocas town. Bibi's restaurant is walking distance and excellent. You can hear the boats go by, but it was not annoying at all. The water all around soothed us to sleep!

Fui con tres amigas y nos quedamos en una de las cabañitas en Faro del Colibrí por 3 noches. La estadía fue estupenda. La isla se encuentra a 3 minutos en lancha del pueblo y cruzar es sumamente sencillo y económico ($1 por pasajero). La atención fue de primera y la isla de Careneros tiene playas muy bonitas que se pueden disfrutar con tan solo unos 10 minutos de caminata. Super recomendado. -------------------- I went with three friends and we stayed in one of the cabins at Faro del Colibri for 3 nights. The stay was great. The island is 3 minutes by boat from Bocas town and crossing is very easy and cheap ($1 per passenger). The service was first class and the island of Careneros has beautiful beaches that can be enjoyed with only a 10 minute walk. Highly recommended.

Pésimo alojamiento
Pésimo alojamiento. Decidimos darnos un "capricho" y hospedarnos aquí dos noches con el objetivo de conseguir lo que anunciaban: relajación y vistas inmejorables. Las vistas sí son bonitas y reales, pero de la relajación nada de nada. La música de las discotecas colindantes se escucha incluso con tapones hasta las 5am. Y desde las 6am empieza el ruido infernal de los motores de las lanchas de paso, ya que es un sitio de mucho tráfico y pasan literalmente por al lado del alojamiento. Así que conseguimos dormir 1h cada noche. Por si fuera poco, la ducha no tenía agua caliente, y su infraestructura se encontraba en pésimas condiciones: con celo alrededor. Por otra parte, en el baño había un cartel que te informaba de poder ser multado con 100$ si quedaban restos de arena. En el checkin te informaban de una ducha exterior, y de usarla antes de entrar al alojamiento. Pues bien, cuando fuimos a usar la ducha para quitarnos la arena, el personal nos dijo que no malgastaramos agua... ¿Qué pretendían entonces? ¿Que entrasemos con arena y aprovechar para cobrarnos los 100$ de multa? (Algo cuya legalidad me parece bastante cuestionable) El propietario nos contó que la propiedad está a la venta. Sin embargo, eso no es motivo para descuidar a los clientes. En definitiva, no recomiendo en absoluto este alojamiento, y mucho menos por el precio que tiene.

buon giorno solo un vendettaa per il fatto che non gli ha piaciuto hotel, e secondo loro il prezzo a Natale era molto caro, sicuramente lo stanno confrontando con gli HOSTAL dove sono abituati, e per noi i clienti sempre sono e saranno trattati bene anche se SI vorrei vendere lo Hotel, pero se vi sentite bene scrivendo tonterie, meglio cosi.

Otroligt fina stugor med havsutsikt och någon minut till huvudön med båt. Fantastisk service, god frukost och mat på hotellrestaurangen. Hummern med curry och kokosris rekommenderas. Personalen och ägaren var mycket serviceinriktade och gemytliga.

Good stay near Bocas Town with less noise
I had a good stay. The staff were friendly and the units over the water were really cool where you could look down and see fish, unfortunately there were small gnats that made it difficult to stay out too long (in late Nov). I'm a light sleeper but slept well in the room, which was a short water taxi to the much louder bar heavy parts of Bocas town. There were a few bar/restaurants you could walk on the island but also seemed like some rougher areas nearby. I found myself generally water taxiing back to Bocas town.

Perfect if you want to be Central without Town
Great location, easy water taxi to the main town. Stay right over the water, only just be aware that you can hear the water taxis going back and forth..but that is also part of the ease of transport.

Home on the water
We stayed at El Faro Del Colibri for four nights during the first part of February. It was an unique experience sleeping on the water. A small nuisance for the sensitive could be the water taxis speeding by nearly all hours of the day and night. But that is a matter of opinion. At times, we enjoyed waving to those in the boats and also enjoyed the swaying of the home as a result of the boat's waves. When we revisit Bocas Del Toros, we will happily stay at El Colibri. We enjoyed being on the small island versus Bocas town. It is a short $2.00 boat taxi ride for a couple to travel back and forth. Everyone on the small island is pleasant and welcoming. We were even invited to a poker night by a group of locals at a nearby pizza cafe. Wifi was decent, showers were warm, and we had a little refrigerator in our room. I would recommend more shelving in the bathroom for convenience. But overall, we loved our stay.

Quaint Bungalow Hotel over the Water
We had a great experience at El Faro del Colibri. There are six bungalows over the water and apartment style condos in the back on the island. Check in was quick and easy. The receptionist showed us to our rooms and explained everything. The housekeeping was great. Fresh made beds/amenities every morning and breakfast was included. The housemom, I considered her the host of the property, was very nice! She cooked a freshly made breakfast every morning. We even woke up late after the cut off and she graciously still cooked us breakfast. She only speaks Spanish, so if you don't know some Spanish it may be difficult to have a conversation. The menu's are in both English and Spanish though. There is a market nearby on the island 5 minutes walking to the left where you can buy water/beer or snacks. There is a great restaurant called Bibi's on the Beach that is 5 minutes to the right. Try the fresh Ceviche. It's a must. You can rent surfboards/paddle boards from Bibi's 15/30 per day respectively. Those complaining about trash on the island or it being dirty have obviously never been to a underdeveloped country. So if you're that type of person go stay at the expensive resort further up Bocas Islands. Carenero Island is perfectly fine if you want to get away from the main island and it also has nice beaches. You can walk from the airport to the main town in 5 minutes or less. From there take a dollar per person water taxi. I highly recommend this hotel!

Beach hotel
It is a very nice hotel over the water and on the beach on the island of Carenero. Very good food and the restaurant is over the water. Staff was very helpful, pleasant and always smiling. I would definitely stay here again.

On the water!
We stayed four nights. Owner and the other help staff were nice, don't speak English. Weekend the nearby hostel blasted "music" till the wee hours, and the zooming taxi-boats were not the highlight ... But then, the island is much more quiet and classy than Bocas Town, yet very close [500 yards away by water taxi], the view is superb, and each room has its own deck/balcony on the water, everything in the room worked, and the staff was very nice.

Amazing Bocas experience
This place was amazing. The staff was awesome. Breakfast was great in the morning. Definitely staying here again. Fell in love with the place so much decided to extend our stay.

Beautiful cabin.
I would have given 5 stars but we had issue trying to pay with credit card. There is only one ATM in Boca town and it ran out of cash, we had hard time trying to figure out how to pay. Had to withdraw cash from Chinese store paying 10% commission. Hotel's credit card system was broken. So they have to figure out this credit card system, if they want to provide better service. Other than that, everything was great.
