Nice Hotel in Quaint Village
Classic hotel, across the road from Blair Atholl Castle. Friendly staff, lively pub with great food and quick service. Nice breakfast included in reasonable rate.

Scottish character hotel.
We enjoyed our stay, breakfast was hearty and staff attentive in dining room. However, there was no one at reception on check out, until the breakfast waitress who spoke almost no English, took our key. Generally the hotel has atmosphere, but needs a refurb - with lots of annoying fire doors on the stairway and worn carpets.

The Atholl Arms has real potential but the room I was in was dated and the bed was uncomfortable. The mattress was lumpy. The Bothy Bar did basic food whic was very tasty but the bar staff were not very willing to do anything they didnt have to. It is a shame as it could be a very nice place. Seems to do well out of bus tours which I dont think is a good sign.

The bar and restaurant are really good. We eat and drunk two times there because it was so good. The breakfast could be better but was ok. The rooms are ok, but the whole hotel needs a renovation in the next years.

Old fashioned Hotel
This old fashioned quant hotel is what you think of when in Scotland!!! The staff are helpful and go about their work with a smile!! Roaring fires in all public rooms! But if you want modern facilities and all the mod cons...........then book in to the Holiday Inn....... this hotel has history and I really enjoyed my stay!!!!!

Great staff, terrible bed!!!
I had upgraded our room while booking and was told we were getting a superior room. I dread to think what the bed would have been like prior to upgrade!!!! We were there for our wedding anniversary and were given two single beds that had been shoved together so sleeping anywhere near my husband either involved us both on one single bed or one of us on the join in between, it was awful. I had a better sleep the previous night in our tent!!!!!!!! The hotel is dated and a bit dull but the staff were really nice and the whole place was very accommodating for our dog as well. Not really sure if we'd go back but as the only hotel in Blair Atholl you're not really spoilt for choice

Athol Arms Hotel
Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Room comfortable. Great menu choice and excellent breakfast. Would recommend.

Not Doing This Again
Our trip started with a condescending unhelpful individual at the front desk. He wanted to help as little as possible. Wifi didn't work in the rooms, my mattress 'popped' when I lay on it, the shower was weak and because of where it was mounted (at the front on the side wall) I was unable to stand under it. Trains right behind my room made it difficult to sleep and relax. My television remote didn't work. Front desk guy grudgingly came to help and then lectured me about how I needed to use the buttons on top of the TV to change channels (convenient when lying in bed) and that the remote was a cheap universal one because guests steal the real ones. Walls were paper thin allowing the screams of children ( the place was overrun with lots of families - perhaps because of the castle across the road). Rooms etc were dated, tired and expensive. On the positive side, the building is stunning from the outside, the food was quite good and the main dining room is stunning. Breakfast staff were quite lovely too.

Looks good from the outside.....
Rooms are smelly. (We had 2 rooms). Wall to wall carpet in the bath is not a good idea .... Ours was dirty, moist and smelly. The shower had no pressure and it was very hard to regulate the temp. Beds were hard and not comfortable. No hand soap offered at the sink or shampoo for the shower. Only shower gel in a pump container, so be sure to bring your own. Ok if you are looking for a hostel, but not for the price we paid. The pub/bar atmosphere and food was delicious and priced reasonably. Breakfast was good.

Fine for an overnight stay
Stopped off here on the first leg of a 3 day tour of the Highlands. Think it is more suited for short stays rather than longer stays which is fine as most residents seem to be in transit elsewhere or hillwalkers etc. Room was fine if a little dated. Nice dining room (had a lovely breakfast). Wifi not good and needs to be improved. Ok bathroom with non electric shower, bath and toilet. Bothy bar served ok food and drink but I found it a bit untidy - needs more regular uplifts of plates/glasses etc and tables need wiped properly. There was a smaller nicer looking "resident style" bar but did not go there - maybe should have. Nice comfy bed in our double room and a smallish (by modern standards) tv. Would come back again for an overnight stay if passing again.

Superb location as a base for a walking holiday
After a long journey to the hotel it was great to enter such a pleasant and well situated place. Blair Atholl is very picturesque and includes a castle. It has little through traffic although the A9 is within one mile. Pitlochry is less than ten miles away. I was able to leave my car in the car park and walk each day into the hills. Excellent grade D/D+ walks of between ten and twelve miles. Their Bothy Bar was open for food from noon til nine with a good selection of bar meals and locally brewed ale. For those who wish for a more formal eating experience the restaurant opens at six and serves a varied selection of food. An excellent breakfast was served in the restaurant. Just behind the hotel is a convenience store where I bought snacks for the treks.

Lovely old hotel, great pub attached
This was a lovely old hotel within walking distance of a local castle (can't remember the name) and a 15 minute drive to Pitlochery. Our room was very small (the door hit the bed when we opened it), but was clean and we were only there one night. Free wifi in the lobby. The pub attached had maybe the best meal I (as a vegetarian) had on our trip - a butterbean vegetable pie with this amazing fluffy croissant-like thing on top. SO good and was fun to have something that seemed traditional (lots of meat and fish pies in Scotland). The included breakfast was to-order and was great. Included their locally made honey (which was excellent, I bought a jar). Staff was very friendly. Great Scottish/hunting lodge-type décor. Would recommend.

Nicely situated. Nice log fire in lounge.
Tired decor. Toilet seat had not been cleaned properly. Some of the staff were OK. Food in the bar was good. Mattress was uncomfortable could not have stayed another night.

quaint victorian charmer
quaint victorian charmer with great location to bruar falls and surrounding area. the room was a bit on the smallish side, but nicely appointed and very clean. quite a busy hotel but staff attentive and no-one left hanging waiting for service in dining hall or when checking out.

The hotel was really homely, with a lovely open fire. Staff were friendly, although when having dinner in the dining room, we asked for biscuits and cheese and was told it wasn't on the menu and this was for one of our guests. Also we was given room 405 the smell was really bad from fumes of the boiler, we were given another room, but I feel this room shouldn't have been offered. We were in room 407, beds were comfy, soap bath was rusty, toilet seat broken, carpet stained and a hole in the ceiling of bathroom. Breakfasts were really nice and Maggie the waitress was very helpful. We would come back again.

we were both very happy about the hotel,room etc. cleanliness was second to none,very happy about that. downfall was the lack of standard food.room service was no later than 9,30pm but had been waiting for the reception phone to be answered for 10 mins. only to be answered with a lady saying they cant answer phones and be in the restaurant at the same time. very disappointed about the attitude. no atmosphere in the bothy bar or hotel in terms of music,especially with it being valentine weekend. all in all we did enjoy out stay but would prefer to eat elsewhere.

Pleasant stay - hotel clean & friendly! For me a major issue was the area had no 3G so needed good WIFI which this hotel doesn't have but everything else was good !!

Lovely Location
Friendly, clean and comfortable hotel. Open fires and comfy seating just what was needed. Bistro food excellent. Staff helpful and polite. Well worth the visit.

A grand old lady
Impressive old building with open fires, tartan carpets and stags heads. A pity we could not eat in the great hall which was not open because there were so few guests but we will try again in the future.

Bed and breakfast at the Atoll Arms
My friend and I had an overnight stay at the Atholl Arms Hotel. The room was cosy and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We will definitely be back!

Decent place for a small break
Booked so we could go to the Enchanted Forest so we weren't planning on staying in it that long. Stayed longer than we thought, not luxurious but for the price it did what was needed, slightly twee with the tartan everywhere but I guess that's for proper tourists :)

We stayed as a break on our journey south. The Hotel was beautiful but in need of some TLC. The food was fabulous as were the staff. Overall we had a fantastic time.

Overnight stay after visiting theEnchanted Forrest
Warm welcome on arrival,, very nice staff who explained all the details on meals,, either in main hall of through in the bar,, room was cozy,, clean and tidy. Had a lovely meal before our trip to the Enchanted Forrest,, the restaurant staff were excellent,, upon our return a few drinks in the bar,, bar staff very friendly. All in a really enjoyable stay.

Lovely setting
We enjoyed our stay at Athol Arms but felt the Hotel was in dire need of some overhaul and there were a few cleanliness issue's under the surface which could have been addressed. Staff were lovely, very friendly and food was excellent.

Bizarre Hotel
The hotel had no sauna as advertised below, obviously we were too young to be at this hotel as their first question was "are you sure you at the right hotel?" then they said the restaurant was open until 9.30 however at just after 9 and just after our arrival they said the chefs wouldn't be happy to cook at this time so why not visit a take away in Pitlochry so a 15-20 minute drive to a chinese and then back again to then find the meal was cold. Highly disappointed. Hotel Features. This romantic hotel offers a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast each morning. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. Additional amenities include a sauna, multilingual staff, and room service (during limited hours). Self parking is complimentary.

Welcoming and warm hotel. Clean and traditional.
We stayed 1 night with our 2.5 yr old twins. Very clean and comfortable room. Brilliant breakfast, welcoming staff and a lovely bar serving dinner in the evening. Could not fault our stay. Only shame was the weather as it would have been great to sit in the garden which also looked lovely.

Disappointing room, staff trying their best
We checked into the hotel for an event that was happening in Pitlochry and booked the hotel as it came up in the listing as being in Pitlochry Blair Atholl. It is in Blair Atholl, seven miles from Pitlochry. The hotel was full and we were given an attic room. We had to sleep with the windows open as the room was very hot even with the heating off. The television was faulty and had a burnt out screen but they were persuaded to change it after some discussion. The bed was under the roof slope. The bath tap was rusty and a glass shelf was missing from the bathroom. On the plus side, the hotel provided a 5.15am breakfast for us prior to the event and I felt that they were working hard to make the stay enjoyable but at £96 a night, we won't be back.

Clean, typical mid-level country hotel standard
Staff a little direct, but actually very friendly and helpful when time is taken to engage properly. Hotel is clean, organised and has a nice dining/breakfast room. Adjoining pub a bit quiet and basic. Breakfast is fine as long as you are more into cooked versions than healthy ones. Bathrooms in room are a bit tired.

Old fashioned hotel
Can't say too many bad things about this hotel, it's very traditional throughout and rooms are quite basic and old fashioned. The shower in the room is probably the worst I have ever had, but pressure and temperature of the water makes a perfect bath :) the hotel pub is an asset - excellent service, excellent food, nice surroundings. This was a good stay but I was a bit disappointed by paying extra for my superior room which didn't feel any better than a regular room.

Tartan and friendly
We were very content with the warmth of the welcome and the comfort of our room .All of the staff worked hard to provide a good service with pleasant, friendly manners. The room was clean and provided plenty of space for three people. We look forward to returning to enjoy ourselves again.

Booked for a romantic valentines night away, booked the 'superior double room' expecting four poster bed as in the advertised images but got there and had two singles pushed together.

Hotellet teiser vi tilbake hvert år på vår ferd i Scotland. Alltid hyggelig service, og spesielle hensyn blir ivaretatt i den grad det lar seg ordne. Romantisk og hyggelig hotell med varme i omgivelser og fra ansatte. Maten er alltid frisk og fantastisk. Ølet og hyggelig bar i kjelleren et absolutt must.
