We enjoyed reading by the fireplace in the gathering area. The breakfast was plentiful with many options and very good.

The Terrace Inn was a beautiful spot to stay in Petoskey. The neighborhood was quiet but still very close to downtown. We will definitely book here again on our next trip!

This is a historic hotel so you need to be able to appreciate that. Rooms are small by today's standards but normal for over one hundred years ago. Walls are thin as well but the property has quiet hours which were well respected by the guests around us. A good breakfast is also included in the restaurant with both hot and cold selections. We did not have dinner but we did enjoy a happy hour cocktail along with some crab cakes in the lovely lobby before heading into town. This was very enjoyable and other guests told us that dinner was fantastic. The staff members we interacted with were all friendly and took care of our requests promptly. If you want a Holiday Inn Express a lovely one is right down the road. If you want a unique experience out of your stay and appreciate classic architecture definitely give this place a try!

Short fall trip
Despite atrocious weather, we had a good time during our short fall trip to Petoskey. The inn is comfortable, clean and charming. My rather short wife appreciated the stepstool to get into the high bed! Really good breakfast, too. Only real complaint was the wi-fi was poor in our room on the 3rd floor; I had to take my iPad to the lobby to be able to access most of the websites. But overall, we are very pleased with the Terrace Inn and will likely return in the future.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the amazing dinner at Restaurant 1911! Perfect portions, excellent drinks, wonderful staff. Bonus to the stay was a very delicious breakfast which was included in the stay. Looking forward to staying again. I highly recommend!

Very lovely and unique old inn nestled in an area of cottages that also are very unique. It was a quiet stay with very friendly guests and staff. The inn, terrace and grounds are well kept and sparkling! Dining room is cozy with wood floor, chandeliers and antiques. Complimentary breakfast was nicely presented. You can eat indoors or on the terrace. We were unable to have dinner there due to the end of season and restaurant only open on weekends. But we have enjoyed their very reasonable three course dinner before. Excellent food the last time we stayed. If you are looking for out of the ordinary from the mundane chain hotels you will enjoy the charming Terrace Inn!

Small rooms but plenty of character
Just keep in mind that this is an older hotel and as such the rooms are not as spacious as you may be used to. That being said, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The lack of an elevator should be a consideration if you have mobility issues. Buffet Breakfast was included and was very good as was the dinner we had in the 1911 Restaurant. All of the Staff were super friendly and bent over backwards to assist us in whatever we needed. All in all a pleasant stay!

The history of the Inn and surrounding charm of the area, which easily allowed an after dinner walk. Had a wonderful dinner. Will be having an included full breakfast. Just a sweet glimpse into a calmer life.

We have come back, year-after-year, to enjoy this vintage place of enjoyment. Turn back time, welcome the creaking of the steps, the sloping of the floors, and even the smallness of the guest rooms. Sit in the beautiful, chandeliered indoor dining room or on a long back porch with tables that overlook a quiet park and bay. And don't miss the amazing hardwood-planked whitefish meal that will melt in your mouth, topped off by vanilla bean creme brulee. The Historic and Hospitable Terrace Inn.
We stayed at the Terrace Inn for two nights the first weekend in August. We stayed in a very nice second floor suite with a king bed, corner fireplace, mini fridge, microwave, and wet bar. The room also had a small table and two chairs, along with two dressers. It was very clean and bright, which I really appreciate. Belinda at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had an issue getting the tv to work and she suggested how to fix it. Afterward, it worked fine. We also had dinner in the dining room on Saturday evening which was a very enjoyable. The food and the ambiance were excellent. I highly recommend the Terrace Inn.

Loved the historic nature of the property and the restaurant was very good. On the less than desirable side, being on the 3rd floor with no elevator was a challenge, especially for my wife who had a stroke recently. They should have at least a dumb waiter for your luggage. Also, the window unit air conditioner didn’t do an adequate job of cooling the room at night. Overall, the good outweighed the bad and I would recommend it for the ambiance and history. One has to realize that the building is over 100 years old and we cannot expect perfection in the building.

My favorite part of the vacation? Our stay at The Terrace Inn. This beautifully maintained 1911 hotel in the Bayview area gives guests a chance to revisit the past in a quiet, beautiful setting with 3 terraces among the breezy trees. Our room was vintage sweet yet comfy and lovely. Guests receive wonderful breakfasts and be sure to reserve a spot for dinner which was memorable. The wagyu steak and the apricot ginger gastrique pork chop meals were heavenly.
