When we checked in we were shown our room did not lock. We immediately said we weren’t comfortable staying in a room without a lock and were offered a different room for one night. We were assured it would be fixed the next day or we could have a refund. To cut a long story short, the lock was not fixed. We spent all of the next day going back and forth to the door being told repeatedly it was fixed. When we asked for a refund the owner became aggressive and said “if you aren’t happy to leave all your belongings here without a lock, then we don’t want you here anyway”. This then continued until the owner walked off mid conversation and told us to “piss off back to England”. By this point it was clear we weren’t welcome, so we left without a refund.
In summary we did not feel safe here (two young female travellers). There’s no excuse for such rudeness. Owners clearly did not care of the guest comfort, well-being and safety and it was a relief to leave. If you are looking for a clean, friendly, welcoming, safe hotel… this is NOT for you.
