When we arrived to check in the hotel was closed. There was a big swim meet in Gresham and all surrounding hotels were sold out! No notice or email canceling reservation!

I arrived and there was a sign on the door saying the hotel was closed due to maintenance. I never received any notification of the closure so I had to scramble to find other lodging for the evening. Not fun to do after a very long day of travel. Terrible situation. Would never recommend this location!

No housekeeping service, inquired at the front desk desk as to why the room was not made up and no towels, was informed that the place was closing and that they laid off the housekeeping staff. If we would have known that they were closing, we would not have stayed there.

Lot of misinformation. First we were told breakfast timings from 6am to 10am at time of checkin, then next day morning they mentioned it starts at 8am. Later one more executive said no breakfast due to understaffing.

Sorry, we're closing.
Things were ok until it came for breakfast. Waffles and instant oatmeal. Coffee from a k cup. (not bad if you are the only one in line). That's all, nothing else available. "We're out, we're not getting anymore, tomorrow is our last day so we didn't re-stock" I could say the place was the best, or the worst, doesn't matter they aren't open anymore. They will be student housing for Mt Hood.

Nice but noisy traffic
The room itself was very nice. It was clean and no odors. The shower was very nice and bed comfortable. The refrigerator was very small. Also, we had a room that backed up to the road, so the traffic in the AM was very noisy.

The staff was very friendly and professinal and answered all my questions. The only issued I had was the the shower was not working and it was too late to fix it as the maintenance crew had left for the day. Other than this, the stay was good.

The improvements I would make are just 2: Better variety of heathy breakfast choices. The manager insisted on cartoons and old sitcoms on the breakfast room TV. There were no children the entire week I was there! News or business programming would have made a better experience

Young lady at the front desk was great! Didn’t get her name, but she was so nice!! Property is older, but definitely a gem.

I like the friendliness of the staff. I did not like the way the towels smelled like if they have been stored away for months. They would try to clean super late in the day and they did not do the bed.

Check in/Check out was quick and easy. Staff were welcoming. Room was stocked but felt dirty. We reported ants/bugs in the room especially bed and staff was indifferent stating they were aware and its not as bad as it used to be. My body was covered in hives and there was no sorry or compensation for the state of the room.

Great place... Dimond in the rough
I was really great service the front desk lady was absolutely wonderful and very understanding of my situation I had a problem with my card and there they may be processed just so much easier trying to check in place looks nice it's really beautiful on the inside very comfortable on the inside as well it doesn't look like much when you first drive up but it's really great

This is my favorite place southeast of Portland. Rooms are nice and clean, staff is friendly, and I particularly like the comfortable lobby and coffee bar.

I stayed at ponderosa cause it was affordable and conveniently located. I would go out of my way in the future to stay there again vs hotels further into the city.

We just needed a quick overnight stay. This is an older motel (1969) that’s had many makeovers over the years. It’s very clean. Reminds me of staying at a grandparents house that’s been redone on phases. You’re between major roads, Fred Meyer, etc. fairly quiet given the area. It’s a good place and a good price.

It is very beautiful and peaceful inside. Very friendly staff and the coffee bar in the morning with snacks all for the best price I've seen lately. They also accommodated my need for a handicapped accessible room at no extra charge! That is the first I've seen ever, I shouldn't have to pay more because I am handicapped.

As described. Clean, new fixtures but older carpet and doors. Very good deal for the cost. Our room was checked before they sent us there and it they found some stains so they offered us a different room. That was most appreciated, checking before we got sent there.
