Nice hotel, but not up to five star standards. Pros: The staff. Everyone went above and beyond, from the dining staff (restaurants and bars), to the special activities personnel. All had smiles and were always willing to help. Beautiful beach area. Cons: Even though it’s “all inclusive”, there was a limit of 4 beer order for your room. No OXXO or minimart close by to get extras if it was needed. You need a taxi to get anywhere. The adults pool is a bit grimy, and in desperate need of an update. Old tiles falling in different spots.

This was are third stay at the Hilton. The previous two times (Fiesta Americana). Rooms have a perfect view of the bay and over look the pools and beach. Perfect sunset views every day. The beach is a bit small but it connects with a public beach to the south. Which makes for longer walks and more place to spread out. The pools are nice with one main bar in the center. The only outside bar? Makes it a hassle to get drinks. Although the pool and beach staff are right there when you need something. ( thanks Daniel, Jaun and Karmen) The food options are ok. Not excellent. We did have a nice dinners. The Asian, Mexican and steak house were good. I just was not wow’ed Nothing to brag about but good. I am not much of a buffet person. So no a la carte breakfast restaurant? The homemade tortilla quesadillas on the patio were great. Food trucks were a nice option for lunch. Hamburgers were good right on the beach. Cocos was perfect. Outside needs a walk-up bar. Again service is great, but sometimes I would like to just walk up and get a refill. Just a note this is a family resort lots of children. Property has a perfect location 8 minutes to town by taxi. 15 minutes to Boca Tomatlan for water taxis. Bus pick up and drop off right outside main gate. Over all we really enjoyed are stay at the Hilton

This was our 3rd stay at Hilton Vallarta. We love the fact that the rooms face the ocean and you have this gorgeous view. The access to the beach is so easy and the resort is walkable not overly spread out. Food is great variety and good quality. I felt that on this trip the housekeeping service was not as good as last 2 times. There were hair on the shower walls and the floors were not “clean.” We stayed 7 days and on the 5 th day when sheets were not changed I requested it to be changed. The cleanliness threw me off. One more comment the staff at the Starbucks in the lounge are all rude and not friendly at all. While the front desk and all the other employees we had contact with over 7 days were pleasant and hard working. Special shout out to Carlos at the front desk, Karen and Daniel at the beach. We will return hopefully to a cleanliness that we expect of a Hilton hotel.

Pool staff Alfredo was very good! Rooms had nice ocean front balconies. The ocean in front is pretty but has many pelicans that can make things stinky. The adult pool was refreshing each day as the water seemed to be cleaned or filtered out nightly.

This property was nice and, on the water! Beautiful ocean views! From the moment you walk into the hotel, they have a killer view with a nice bar in the lobby! The staff was always very helpful and nice. From the check in staff to ALL of the bartenders and cleaning crew, very friendly. At the breakfast buffet we had regular servers that were so cool! I remembered their names! This one server, Isela Pedro was especially kind and attentive! Before I would leave, she would grab me a "Cafe de Oea" in a to-go cup! It was the little things! I do tip everyone! So maybe that helped :-) I tip after our meals, to the bartenders, cleaning lady and the drivers.

Such a wonderful experience. Everyone was so kind, clean, respectful, positive - the whole nine yards. The servers at each restaurant was especially amazing. Specifically Sergio at La Lune and everyone at the Asian restaurant treated me with absolute grace. I can't say enough to them but they made my anniversary with my boyfriend an awesome experience. The resort is nice, however the cleanliness isn't the greatest. We arrived to our hotel room with a ball of hair in the room and pieces of random furniture/maintainence boards in our bathroom...everything else was great, the pools, the food, the nightly entertainment, the staff and services were great. wonderful vacation overall, but the cleanliness could use improvement.

The Hilton is a great property with great staff. The entertainment is well done. The buffet, at least for breakfast, is very good. We ate lunch and dinner elsewhere on the property. Dinners were decent, but definitely not gourmet. Reservations seemed fairly easy to obtain each night. Tip: Always ask for the better tequila in your margaritas, they are much better. The property/elevator locations are VERY confusing. You have to take 2 elevators sometimes to get to dinner and that's if you don't get confused in the process. Overall very nice vacation.

Smaller hotel, but most of the staff was excellent. Could use another restaurant or two option as it was difficult to get reservations for our large party every night. We had upgraded our rooms to be able to have adjjoining rooms. With this, we were told we would have access to the enclave, lounge and bottles of wine and all these extras. Upon arrival we were told only two members of our family could enter the enclave lounge, and there were no bottles of wine in our room. I was told to email the staff member we spoke with, which I did on day one and I still have never received a response. be careful with an upgrade as you’ll pay for services you don’t receive.

The hotel was nice and clean, I loved how close our room was to the ocean. On our last night we heard the whales swimming nearby. It is a bit far from the center where the Malecon is located so transportation is a must. The entertainment and shows were great. Food was okay, my favorite restaurant was Cocomar (seafood) but only available 12-5 so having any outside planned activities, it was difficult to make it on time. Arriving at the hotel from the airport, we were not greeted by front desk staff. The person who checked us in was a bit rude and forgot to mention a few important things..like the hotel website we need to make dinner or other reservations. It wasn’t until I asked about it that he sent us the link. The rest of the staff at restaurants, bell guys, concierge, bars and room service were polite. The Italian restaurant staff even sang for my Dad since we were celebrating his birthday which made him feel extra special. Overall I would stay here again.

Each room has an unobstructed view of the ocean. Magnificent! Beds are 5* quality. 7 restaurants and 5 bars to choose from. Excellent spa facilities (I had a deep tissue massage). Location is stunning. Right on the beach. A couple of whale spotting occasions that helped with the appeal. If you prefer being closer to the action downtown, it's about a 10km distance.

We traveled with our 3 teens for a vacation. The location is beautiful. The beach is gorgeous and the rooms all have incredible views. All the staff were very warm and friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and the patio is nice. The air works great and fridge, coffee and snacks were stocked and replenished regularly. The "needs improvement" were definitely the food. There were lots of choices and options but the quality was not great. We ate at the steak house, the sushi, La Luches, both buffets. The best food was the little bus that had hamburgers. At check in, they stated the different areas that children were and were not allowed however this was not enforced what so ever. The adult pool with the swim up bar had more children then the children's pool and the Sky Bar had children in the hot tub and the Mojita bar had kids in the swings. It did not bother us but some people were really annoyed with the lack of enforcement. All in all, wonderful hotel and great vacation. Just don't have high expectations for the food.

Nice hotel. Great food options but you need to make reservations for restaurants upon arrival which could be hard to get. Only 2 pools. Beautiful views. Ocean access. Close to downtown. The children/kidsclub needs to update their availability - kids under 3 can only go before 11am which is so hard during vacation, by the time you wake up and eat it’s already 11am. Liked the night activities offered. Would recommend.

Firstly, I will say that the location and hotel are in a beautiful spot. The staff was excellent. I did expect more from the food. The buffet was very average but what was most disappointing were the specialty restaurants. Hilton really needs to up their game here. The spaces were vey nice but the food was pedestrian. The Steak restaurant served the toughest piece of steak I have ever had and the Mexican restaurant was a complete joke when it came to food. Please don't get me started on the 24/7 room service food. That was the poorest excuse for a pizza I have ever tried. Hilton...Improve your food!

The staff is very slow. There aren't as customer centric as you might expect at a resort like this. Booking restaurants is a chore and good luck getting them on the phone. Getting special requests for birthdays etc aren't always met with smooth reception, they look like they begrudgingly help you. Beautiful property though.

Property restaurants and bars were closed at times. Sushi bar was closed two out of the 7 nights there. They required reservations at the steak house and they would turn people away without them even when the restaurant was maybe half full. The other restaurants they would tell you its a 50 min wait and you could the place was not busy. Buffet opens at 7am but much of the food wasnt ready until 730 must be a bacon shortage as they would bring one plate of bacon out every 20-30 mins. The staff in the restaurants and around the pool was excellent particularly Martin and Jose.

The property is exceptionally unique with oceanfront facing rooms. The hotel is an excellent place for people with mobility issues as all the restaurants, pools, and even the beach are easily accessible. The food is of high quality; although the buffet doesn’t offer a wide variety, even picky eaters will find something enjoyable. During our 4-night stay, we dined at the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant, both of which served very decent meals. Lastly, the staff and entertainment crew are outstanding, going above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special and receives excellent customer service. A special shout-out to Brenda, who greeted us by name every day and ensured our lunch experience was exceptional. Also, a special shout-out to Alan; what a hardworking guy! Hilton should give all their staff special recognition.

The location is great, about a 5 minute taxi ride from downtown. Food options were not the best. Breakfast buffet had limited options and did not change in the 4 days we stayed here. Very noisy mornings if you are the type of person that likes to sleep in. Staff overall were very friendly.

Poor facility for Hilton brand. Limited eating experiences, never know when or if cleaning person is coming daily. Front desk can’t make change of American dollars say breaking an $50 or $100 bill. After staying at Secrets last year there is no comparison and for about same money. Won’t be staying at Hilton again. I give Hilton a poor -below average rating.

Overall, fun, beautiful, great food. I loved the activities and nightly entertainment. The staff for the activities, bars, restaurants, housekeeping, and maintenance are very friendly and helpful. My favorite restaurant was Maxal, where they serve Mexican food. They even had a full vegan menu! However, I had issues with my room that I had to ask at least 3 times for them to fix. They charge extra for small things, which seemed very strange. For example, someone in my party had to pay extra for almond milk for their coffee at the buffet, and I would've been charged $4-5 USD for hot tea in the lobby, meanwhile you can drink all the alcohol you want at the bar in the lobby. They also charge you extra ($20 per person, per hour) if you want to stay past 2pm on your check out day. Be aware of this if your flight is later or if it gets delayed. I've never heard of this at an all inclusive resort. It definitely put a damper on the trip when I had to negotiate this with the front desk, who had to follow this rule and probably deal with unhappy customers about it all the time, and therefore understandably unfriendly about it. My final complaint is that several of the restaurants are closed on any given day, so make sure you plan ahead. You have to make reservations and they fill up quickly since there aren't many options each day. According to the online schedule, you are supposed to be able to use the kayaks each day, but when we went on Sunday, they said they were closed.

This is my first time as The Hilton. Before it was the Grand Fiesta Americano all Adult I stayed twice at that property. Hilton needs to rethink all adult and keep the SkyBar open past 10:30pm? Guests come to party, if you want late night, Romantic Zone. The food was good. All restaurants, except Asian. Didn’t hear good reviews? The breakfast buffet is great, and the staff is extremely professional and friendly. We would definitely recommend and return again.
