Nice room with kitchenette and balcony. In the middle of the action so music is loud till 3am. Very pleasant staff and there is a nice rooftop with a pool to relax during the day.

We chose this property as it is indicated that it is a hotel. I got the impression that as it is a hotel, it would have full-time front-desk staff service, at least during the day. It does not. They require a deposit. Frustratingly, they do not accept a credit card deposit. We gave them two twenties and he didn't have change. So our deposit was forty. When we were checking out, the maid was giving us thirty deposit. We wanted to speak to the frontdesk but there was nobody there. We went back and forth about the deposit, on the phone and in person - it is not the dollars but the principle. Two full days later, we just gave up.

Hello, sorry Sir Bradley but we cant manipulate the tickest that are printed. If you receive that says 30 and than a note with pen saying a differente amount " just in you tickets, " it ovbious it was manipulated! Sorry but we do accept credit card for the deposit , but depans on the guest who they want to leave the deposit. We are truly sorry for your incovinience, have a great day!!!

Not an option if you want to sleep at night
This would be an amazing place to say with one drawback the suites are all over a strip club (Wet) which begins its furniture moving bass speakers at 9pm and maintains full volume until 3 am. Even with earplugs there is no hope of sleeping. You are better to go watch the strippers until the club closes.

It's like having your own apartment right in the middle of the action. You can walk anywhere, restaurants and bars all over the place, and lots of services (grocery, coffee, pharmacy, laundry) all nearby.

Great If you want to be close to all the night life other then that it was not a pleasant experience. Beds were hard, absolutely No hot water in the shower, located next to a strip club it was so loud until 4am, the bathroom floor and shower were not clean, no one was in the office before 3 pm so this made checking out difficult I was not told how to check out in the morning there was no communication then the house keeper approached me in the morning and asked if I was ready to check out and she proceeded to help me.

If you are looking for an excellent location for LGBT culture & nightlife, then this is the place for you. Our room was lovely, the housekeeper was friendly & thorough, & the rooftop pool was gorgeous. The downside was that the A/C was not cooling enough, the water pressure was bad, & the TV’s didn’t work.

Great small boutique hotel
Staff was extremely helpful and fun. The bed was really hard but most are in Mexico. Place was clean and great location in the Romantica Zone. Rooftop pool is small but does the job of cooling you down. For the great low price this is a safe, clean and enjoyable hotel. Would stay here again.

It was really nice and had full kitchen....great air conditioning.....but, there are 3 bars next to hotel and the music is LOAD...boom..boom..boom until 3am every night.....very hard to sleep..great place but the load music killed it....never again

Zero Frills, in the heart of Zona Romantic
Large Rooms, No Frills, but exactly where the party is at. The hotel is located above Wet Dreams Bar, perfectly situated in the heart of Zona Romantic. Before our trip I got nervous because other reviewers stated that if the hotel is over sold they would be placed at the sister hotel, which is not located nearby. I tried using the number provided by hotels.com and their website, none would connect. I contacted hotels.com, and they could not reach the hotel either. However upon arrival, our they did have our reservation and where not over sold. Check in does not begin until 3pm, period. We where checked promptly, all CCs accepted, 200 peso deposit, 1000 pesos promise note if you lock out the safe. Our room had 2 double beds, we quickly unpacked, turned the AC on, went to grab essentials. Upon returning the AC did not function. We where moved to a new room, without issue. The new room was large, full kitchen, 2 tables & chairs, large closet, bathroom and washroom. The ac was able to cool the room through out the heat of the day, and very comfortably at night. The shower needed a new head, bad, and the hot water didn’t last long. The kitchen had all the appliances you would need, however dated, they all worked. If you want your deposit back, make sure to leave ample time to have your room inspected before departing. The bed was sleepable, but not comfy. The pool is very warm, and more of a soaker. Overall I had low expectations, and the hotel exceed them, would book again!

Pleasing studio suite, great location, good value.
Loved this place with it’s pleasing studio suite, good little kitchen, cute decor and roof garden. Morning coffee and filtered water provided.Great location in romantica zone close to restaurants, shops and beach. Suggest asking for a back suite as front suites face onto busy street with lots of buses and a gay bar.

Enjoyable stay
I was very pleased with my 10 day stay at La Iguana de Oro. The property is more apartment style with fully equipped kitchen and lock box in the room. There is key access to the building and the front desk is a small office with separate entrance immediately adjacent - its services seem limited. Morning coffee and water is provided at a station on each of the 2 floors. The housekeeping service is daily and is excellent. The units are older and the appliances show age but in working order. The AC works very well and there is no must or mildew which I have found in some older properties in Central and South America. There are probably fewer than 12 apartments - the building is on a busy street and also close a number of clubs. Units at the front of the building could be effected by louder street and club noise. I booked a bit ahead and the management were able to provide me with a unit at rear which was quiet as I had requested. The unit though had limited natural light. This property I found to be ideal for me. Good value for money - perhaps not everyone’s taste with somewhat limited front desk services and the rooms/apartment non standard.

Great location, lots of unnecessary noise.
So much extra noise. Housekeeping and grounds man were constantly talking in the areas outside my door and bedroom window. Housekeeper knocking on each door several times a day to ask if you need housekeeping. Just get signs already!

Great price, great location, but no frills
Location is great. Room is clean and friendly staff. Front desk was there “at times”, except when I needed to check out. I wish the appliances were updated. A/C worked great. Shower head could be better. This all said, price is great. I would stay again, but I do not understand the deposit which was not refunded. The pool area was very clean. No frills, yet practical. 3.5 stars is probably more accurate, 3.9 due to price and great location. Some simple updates would be advised.
