No longer the Hotel San Marino. The Maranatha Group purchased it in October 2023. The hotel is now two hotels: the Delfin and the Vista Pier. We upgraded to Vista Pier upon arrival, as Delfin room was below expectations (dark, noisy street side, unclean, unrenovated).
Delfin Hotel comprises the largest section of rooms in both towers, except for the Junior Suites and Deluxe Junior Suites (which are now the Vista Pier).
Pros:
- Great staff all 'round...everyone was very friendly and helpful!
- Location: in the Zona Romantica if you want to be close to all the action, the beach, the pier
- Complimentary coffee, agua fresca and pastries all day long (Vista Pier side)
- Nespresso machine in the room with coffee pucks replaced daily, along with 2 bottles of water (Vista Pier only)
- Adults only (Vista Pier side). This is only a "pro" if you're not travelling with children
Cons:
- Vista Pier is over-priced for what you get... 5 star prices for a 3-star room
- No table lamps in the rooms, only VERY bright overhead LED pot lights. At night, there's no way to have low lighting that's comfortable on the eyes
- No towel holders in the bathroom. Towels take up space on the bathroom counter. Wall-mounted shelving for towels would solve this issue
- Our room (for 2 people) only had one plastic faux-rattan chair on the balcony, which broke after 2 days and needed to be replaced with 2 sturdier plastic chairs
- Upgrading from Delfin to Vista Pier will set you back 1,000MXN per night!
