Es ist wirklich eine Zweckunterkunft. Man nutzt es nur zum schlafen und duschen. Es liegt genau zwischen Long Beach und Coral Bay, was wirklich ein ultra Pluspunkt ist. Ist auch der einzige Grund, weshalb ich dieses Hotel nochmal buchen würde. Die Anreise mit dem Speedboat von Kuala Besut empfiehlt sich über Coral Bay (ca. 7 Min Fußweg zur Unterkunft).

Let’s start with the good. This place is conveniently located equidistant to the two main beaches. Around a five minute walk to each. The staff were kind and warm in their behaviour. Now the not so good. This is not a 2.5 star hotel. It’s not even a hotel. It’s back country lodging. For starters, they do not provide toilet paper. You can extrapolate from there. I am not assigning blame to the ownership of the hotel for the 2.5 star rating. I am assigning blame to whomever is responsible for the unstandardized rating system, as well as customers who play into this misinformation, with or without good intentions. The other piece is the walking path. It is extremely perilous at night. Someone is going to get badly hurt, if they haven’t already. At one point, the path turns from relatively flat terrain to stairs. You can’t see the drop off in the dark. A flashlight can solve this problem, but I would not walk it alone if I was a female. Otherwise, I am open to the possibility that this is good value from a supply/demand perspective. I just think it’s only fair that people know what they’re getting into, before they commit. El hotel está bien situado cerca de long beach, pero la limpieza y el estado del mismo deja mucho q desear. El baño estaba sucio cuando entramos y no lo limpiaron ningún día de los que estuvimos alojados.

Die Unterkunft liegt zwischen den beiden Hauptstränden der Insel. Es ist nur ein kurzer Fußweg und dennoch ist e nachts ruhig. Unser Zimmer war sauber und das freundliche Personal stand uns mit nützlichen Tipps zur Seite. Die Anreise empfiehlt sich von Coral Bay aus.

Great location near long beach. Wifi access very useful. Reception staff member was fantastic at helping us determine ferry times/confirming pickup jetty at the end of our stay. Would go back if I stay on Perhentian Kecil in the future.

Hôtel bien situé car proche de la plus belle plage. Par contre, l’accessibilité avec les bagages est un calvaire. On débarque sur l’île au niveau d’un ponton puis il faut traverser la plage avant d’entamer un chemin sinueux en montée sans lumière (quand on arrive à la tombée de la nuit). L’hôtel ne fournit pas de restauration mais une salle est à disposition si on vient avec son plat. Un peu cher pour ce que c’est.

Dies war mein viertes Mal auf Perhentianisch und jedes Mal, wenn ich hinging, blieb ich immer im Tropicana Inn, hauptsächlich weil es zwischen Long Beach und Coral Bay lag, weg von der lauten Musik auf Long Beach und nicht in direktem Sonnenlicht. Wir liebten die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter. Norman war außerordentlich hilfreich bei der Ideenfindung. Er kümmerte sich auch sehr gut um uns, so gut er konnte. Die Zimmer werden auf Anfrage gereinigt, aber wenn Sie auch Toilettenspülungen wünschen, müssen Sie dies erwähnen. Wenn nicht, ist es nur ein Wechsel von Bettwäsche und Handtüchern und das Herausfegen des Sandes aus dem Raum. Wir gaben hohe Bewertungen, vor allem aufgrund der Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter, der Lage und meiner Vertrautheit mit Tropicana Inn.

We had an unforgettable stay at Tropicana Inn. The Long Beach where this place is located is fantastic. In our opinion, the is the best beach in this part of the world. This resort has a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere which is exactly what one needs in such a location. The room was clean and comfortable with a clean ensuite bathroom. If you are looking for a decent place at a reasonable price, Tropicana Inn is without doubt the resort to choose.

I had a private room which I booked at very short notice online and it was very expensive compared to other accommodation on the island, and even for the same accommodation if booked in person. The room was clean and spacious, two clean towels provided. Bathroom was clean. The water wasn't hot but that wasn't too much of an issue given how hot the island is. The room was a good temperature (fan worked well). There was one window with not much of a view. Overall I think this is good accommodation for an island. It is a short walk down to long beach but there are no lights on the path for half the way and so as a sole female traveller it's a bit scary when returning in the evenings.

Il a des insectes de partout, mais ça encore c'est le moins dérangeant je vous assure. La salle de bain est affreuse ! Le wifi ne fonctionne absoluement pas. C'est extrèmement cher pour le service rendu... Vraiment déçue ! Je ne recommande pas.

Horrible, desastroso y asqueroso. Entorno lleno de basura y con olor a podrido. No habia ventanas, solo unos cristales abatibles y se oían durante todo el día y la noche gritos, conversacio es, pisadas, etc. Bichos y lagartos entraban y salían por la ventana. La ropa de la cama olia fatal y las toallas de la ducha!! Muy lejos de todo.El camino sin iluminar. Fue imposible dormir las dos infernales noches que pasamos ahí. Desastroso, penoso y asqueroso. I came to stay here twice in two weeks because the price is one of the best and also the hotel I wanted to book is fully booked. Came here second time with a kid at 4 years old, he slept fine for 3D2N. This Inn has all the basic things you need to stay for the night - decent bed, toilet, towel, blanket, pillow which is quite okay. I saw many bad comments but actually it is not that bad at all. I stayed in the bad condition chalet before too on this island, but wont give bad comment because it is expected. I would recommend people who bring baby or kid to bring your own kettle. There is no hair dryer too, so bring your own if you must dry your hair with a dryer. Oh, we saw a huge spider in the room too as expected as the inn is in the middle of the island. Remember to choose the closest jetty which is Coral Bay Jetty NOT Long Beach jetty. I would recommend this place for people who are on budget and big group :-)

Till det här priset kan man innebära sig mycket men det är inte fråga om hotellstansard. Snarare hostel med enskilda rum. Dyrt att lägga till AC på plats. Tropicana ligger ett par hundra meter upp från stranden. Du drar inga resväskor dit. Vägen/stigen är kantad av skräp, flaskor och glas.

My new home in the Perhentians
I have been staying at Tropicana Inn for at least 6 years in a row now during peak season. It has consistently deemed an excellent value because of the room quality and service. I always get a good night's sleep on their comfortable beds. Wi-Fi is quite good but only at the common area. The guys at the front desk are the same people I see every year and have always been accommodating. You can't beat the location. This place is located near long beach and only a few minutes walk to coral bay. You can be at all the restaurants, and the night spots within a couple of minutes. The place has been extensively renovated and looks like a brand new resort now. I would definitely recommend this place for those who want to go to the Perhentians.

Arriving with no accommodation this place was the only hotel to have a room for all the nights of our stay on the two islands. Not as nice as other hotels due to being set back from the beach so no lovely view. We didn't choose to stay when other accommodation became available. However nice and quiet for long beach!

Larm fra Long Beach. Sengene var ellers komfortable nok. Jeg synes hotellet var ALT for dyrt ift. hvad man fik.

Wouldn't Recommend this Spot even to Worst Enemy
Nightmare experience started as soon as we got to room: it smelled heavily (musty) and there were disgusting stains in supposedly cleaned bed covers (see attached pictures). We complained and receptionist, as well as hotel manager (tall, skinny guy with mustache), refused to change the bed sheets and covers, and much less to move us to another room, arguing in terrible manners that there was something wrong with our sense of smell (only reason we stayed is because it was a long holiday weekend and everything else was booked). We insisted the next day and managed to get a new room for the following two nights (we had prepaid three nights through Expedia). Nightmare continued regardless: as we came back to room from dinner, we found rat feces on bed and bed-site table, and actually heard the rat in our bathroom (there was no one in Reception to whom to complain that night). The following morning, we finally could complain and receptionist literally responded that it had been our fault because we had failed to place a water bottle on top of the bathroom drain cover and "had to understand we were in the jungle." Do not be mistaken: this was not a "cheap hotel" by any stretch of the mind. For what we paid, this was nothing to be expected what so ever. So if you really want to have an awful experience and feel cheated and frustrated, go ahead and stay at the Perhentian Tropicana Inn.

Hostel a precio de hotel cuatro estrellas
Por 60 euros la noche no tienes limpieza de habitaciones, ni aire acondicionado, ni wifi en la habitacion, ni servicio de lavanderia, ni desayuno incluido, etc. Si, puedes considerarte un privilegiado, porque la mayoria de locales ni sueñan con poder dormir en la isla. Aun asi estás pagando un precio de habitacion superior en hotel bueno lo que en realidad es una habiacion con baño privado en un hostel muy justito. Salvo raras excepciones, el staff deja mucho que desear, intentamos ponernos en contacto con ellos via email, facebook, wassap y por telefono y no hubo manera...No recomendable salvo que sea tu ultima opcion y nunca para mas de tres o cuatro noches. Seguro que por un poco mas de precio puedes conseguir algo mejor en cualquiera de las dos islas.

Simple pied-à-terre
Chambre spartiate avec un lit double, la SDB est un bloc comprenant lavabo, WC et pommeau de douche. En cas de chaleur, c'est un sauna. Les grains de sable sont en permanence présents sous les pieds. Ménage non fait durant le séjour de 3 nuits mais possibilité de demander un coup de balai. Pas de moustiquaire. Couverture fournie très petite (valable pour une personne). Les serviettes de toilette et couverture sont en location. Pas testé le petit déjeuner et autres repas proposés. Hôtel situé en hauteur et mal signalé. Quand il y a une signalétique, indique surtout la guesthouse du site.

Una passeggiata di qualche minuto dalla spiaggia all'interno dell'isola. La sera un po' buio, ci si arrangia anche con la torcia del telefono. Le camere sono graziose, buona pulizia, comfort accettabile. Wi-fi non sempre efficiente.

2016年の夏休みに行きました。 ホテルの場所はコーラルベイとロングビーチの真ん中あたりで、島を横断する小道の一番坂がきつい所。 荷物をバックパッカーもどきにしないと大変です。 でも従業員は親切で気さく。 部屋には天上プロペラ扇風機だけでしたが、涼しく快適でした。 それと、冷蔵庫やテレビはありませんので、ビールを買ってきてはフロントで冷やして頂きました。 帰りにジュースを子供にプレゼントもしてくれました。 SO・・・・朝食付きだったはずが、毎朝「ないよ」でした。 コーラルベイ側のレストランが朝8時からスタートで、これだけが問題だったかな。 もし値段があえばコーラルベイ寄りのもっと安い宿でもよかったかも・・・・。

Too pricey for what you get
We only chose this hotel because it was one of few places left available for the weekend we wanted to travel so we went for it. The location is fantastic - 5min walk to long beach and 10mins to Coral Beach. The staff were also very nice, but we felt ripped off for how much we paid for such a basic room. It cost 75SGD/night for a fan room. AC was not even provided for that price. It would make up for it a little if there were some other kinds of amenities provided, but the room is extremely basic - we had no bedding provided (only after we asked twice did we get a bed sheet and pillow covers, and the bed sheet didn't even fit the mattress!) and there wasn't even a bar of soap to use in the bathroom!! We also never got clean towels and we stayed here for 3 nights. The wifi was also non-existent in the room and in the common areas it hardly ever worked. We are fine staying in hostel-type accommodations, but if it's going to be hostel standard, then we expect to pay hostel prices, NOT 75SGD/night! That was way too high for what we got. When we go back to the Perhentian islands we will definitely book our accommodation in advance so that we can stay somewhere else that is worth the price. Unfortunately we will not be recommending this "hotel" to our friends. The island itself is beautiful though.
