Lovely stay
Really nice room, kids beds had been made up. It was comfortable and clean. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Would definitely stay there again. We used it as our base while visiting Longleat.

Our only criticism is that the food offering in the evening was very basic and overpriced otherwise everything was very nice especially breakfast.

Great Pub, lovely rooms.
Lovely place. Peta was really friendly and went our of her way to accomodate my odd schedule. I was diving at nearby Vobster Quay and will definitely stay here again when I next visit.

A truly delightful discovery. We stayed in Shaun, a converted shepherds hut, which was warm (wood burner), roomy with an en suite. We had facilities to allow safe catering, along with seating and a fire pit outside the hut. All the freedom of camping, with all the benefits of hot running water and an en suite shower room. The Inn did breakfast if you wanted it, which was great value, plentyful and tasty. Also the evening meal option was fantastic. Best roasted quail I have ever had. The welcome was warm and friendly, bit do be prepared to carry bags up a steep hill if you are in either a yurt or a hut. Views from the top of the hill in the morning with a cup of tea in your hand are well worth lugging your bags up the hill though!!!

Weekend away
Unfortunately the weather was awful the whole weekend, but the Vobster Inn was warm & comfortable. The restaurant was quiet with limited menu but food was good. Landlady very pleasant & knowledgeable about the area. The Inn was a few miles out of Bath, but we used the Park 'n' Ride service. I had booked Tour bus prior to visit apart from the weather all went quite well. Would definitely stay here again.

First impressions were not good, key to room outside in a shed ( COVID precautions) however never go with first impressions. Each rooms key ws on a hook in an envelope with each occupants name on it. Room was very good clean and well appointed Letter in with key instructed us that we had to pre book dinner. This turned out incorrect as when the pub opened at 1830 we were able to book a very pleasing and tasty dinner although with a limited menu. Staff ( landlady/owner) clod not have been more friendly or helpful. Breakfast was pre booked and again was delightful and filling. Would use this pub again. Great

Great hosts, lovely welcome. Accommodation at rear of Inn, overlooking garden. Very comfy bed and facilities. Ate in the bar in evening and had super meal prepared by Spanish chef. Breakfast served in bar, good choice, menu given night before so everything ready at your chosen time. Unfortunately tables were very sticky! Very quiet location.

An absolute gem
If you don’t like tranquility, this is not the place for you! Country location about 4 miles from Radstock. Owners were great, very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return whether for business of leisure.

Quiet, clean rooms. Friendly, accommodating staff.
We arrived in the dark and as it was raining heavily we dashed inside hoping to find someone around to be able to check us in. Initially there wasn’t a soul to be seen so after waiting a while we called through a door signed ‘private’. Fortunately a lovely lady came and dealt with us but apparently there is a bell to press on the outside door to alert staff that guests had arrived. In the pitch black and driving rain sadly we missed this. We were shown to our room which was clean and had everything we needed. Shower with en suite facilities, tv and tea / coffee. Perfectly adequate, warm and clean. Although breakfast on Sundays is at 9am we asked if we could have ours at 7.30am as we had to leave early. Being more than accommodating we we’re offered cereal, toast, warm croissants, muffins, fresh juice and tea/coffee at 7.30am which was absolutely perfect for us and we were very grateful. Breakfast was delicious was our evening meal on the Saturday night. Highly recommended for a stop over. Large car park on the premises. Initially a bit worried that being a pub it might be a bit noisy to sleep but we needn’t have worried. Rooms are situated at the back of the pub with their own entrance. Not really a ‘rowdy’ type of pub anyway, more of a friendly country local. Thank you for your hospitality and being so accommodating. Hope to visit again soon.

Lovely setting, lovely people, lovely room, dinner was brilliant. Fantastic scrambled eggs with breakfast. We stayed in the small en-suite twin (Tor Room). Would recommend to anyone.

Certainly be back!
Only stayed for one night and didn’t have chance to sample the food or bar.....unfortunately, as they had some good ale on tap and the wines and menu looked interesting. Room was very spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. Only met the landlord who was very accommodating. We had to be in Bath very early the next morning and he got up early too to serve us a delicious continental breakfast! 1000 thanks for that Raf! We will definitely be back and may even try the glamping huts and yurts they have ! 👍👍

Probably great in summer
Accommodation was fine, but we visited mid-week at the end of January and the place was empty: literally just one other person in the bar and restaurant area the whole evening. And it was cold in the restaurant area - we sat there with our coats on. Understandably the dinner menu was very restricted, but well cooked.

Stayed at the Vobster Inn as my son had an interview at Bath Spa university. Absolutely lovely Inn. The room was warm, clean and spacious. The food was first class and the landlady Peta was a great host, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Proper country pub
Nice country pub with a variety of rooms, yurts and Shepherds huts available. I stayed in one of the rooms which was perfectly adequate for a night or two. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. The only problem I had was that I couldn't get any hot water from the washbasin but it wasn't a big enough deal to even make me remember to ask the owners about it. The owners keep free-range chickens and bantams as well as Bee's so if it's a country vibe you're after, this will fit the bill. I only had one meal in the restarant which was OK. Quality was good but in my opinion the price could have been less or the portion size more. Still, nothing to complain about. I'd certainly stay again if back in the area.

This is the second time we have stayed here and will most definitely return. The owners are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help. Food is great, after a full English breakfast I didn't need to eat again until late afternoon!

Our room was immaculately clean and cosy with a very comfortable bed and we felt truly at home. Dinner and breakfasts were excellent, exactly what we expect of an English coutry inn. Peta is lovely to talk to talk with, has loads of info for you about the area and made sure everything was perfec for us. Would love to try glamping in their yurts next time. We highly recommend the Vobster Inn.

Alternative to high priced Hotels in Bath.
Hotels .com had fewer hotels in Bath so chose one 12 miles away. Turned out to be a charming Inn with great food and large room with a great kingsize bed. Slept well in this country setting. Drive into Bath was easy finding parking was stressful as the GPS didn't seem to know where the parking was. All in all a good place to stay for a trip to Bath.

Kleine Pension, sehr ruhig gelegen
Das B&B ist sehr ruhig gelegen (Lower Vobster) und Sehenswürdigkeiten sind am besten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Es liegt perfekt, um sich z.B. Stonehenge, Bristol, Bath, Salisbury etc. anzusehen. Das Zimmer ist modern eingerichtet und alles was man benötigt ist vorhanden. Das Servicepersonal ist super nett und freundlich und sehr bemüht. Die Atmosphäre ist relaxt und man hat das Gefühl, zu entschleunigen (Hühner laufen frei rum, man kann Boule spielen, draußen im Garten sitzen, Wandern, Spazieren gehen, W-LAN funktioniert, aber sonst kein Handynetz etc.). Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Eine klare Empfehlung, wenn man ein ruhiges Plätzchen zum Übernachen sucht.

A gem in the middle of the countryside
Great staff. Breakfast excellent. Purchased dinner at hotel great meals. Hidden away in the true countryside. Beautiful walks around the village. Need the car as it’s in the middle of nowhere but that’s what we wanted. Brilliant stay.

The draw back is if you need mobile reception and good Internet. This was bad and I needed to phone to make plan to visit relative. Had to drive up to nearest village. Very pretty around there but nothing in Vobster.
