When walking in, even smell of even the lobby was horrible and it got worse when entering the room. Even the pillows smelled of mold and mildew. There was a huge water puddle under the ac unit. When talking to the staff they said “you are welcome to leave.” as a solution.

This property should be torn down. The first red flag was the handicap door was inoperable, my room key didn't work at all and the second room had similar issues. The carpet looked like ig haven't been cleaned in years. I checked out and left after the first night. The worst experience in my life. Had to check in to another hotel.

Front desk staff were careless and showed no concern for our issues. The halls smelled of smoke even though it is a non-smoking facility. The first room that was issued smelled of urine and the second room had false eyelashes on the carpet telling us the room wasn't vacuumed thoroughly. We will never stay here again.

The shower/bathtub needed to be replaced. It was in terrible condition. The room was fairly clean but corners were dusty and it definitely needed to be renovated. The building needs a complete overhaul.

The bed was filthy, stains to include blood on the mattress. I do not believe the bed linen was changed but rather just made up again. In addition, the room smelled of cigarettes as well as the hallway near the electrical room. It was most obvious someone was just spraying a deodorant spray to attempt to cover up the smoke smell. Monday morning I im calling wake county health dept for these issues as well as others. I took pictures.. Also, usual the room key/lock usually did not work and that’s a possible fire hazard/safety issue if their is a fire.

Entrance doors did not work properly. Elevator did no work and the one that did was questionable. Bsck door didnt lock. Stairwell smell like urine. The bathroom doors would not close. Toilet paper holder broken. I have never stayed in hotel this bad of shape.

Hotel was trash nothing compared to the pictures on the website. Customer service was horrible everybody at the front desk had an attitude expect for one older lady. Would not recommend!!

Rooms and bathroom are large and roomy. The elevator needs a complete replacement. Second elevator inoperable. I understand this facility will undergo an overhaul starting in February. I hope they do a good job as I feel this location has a lot of good possibilities.

We have stayed at this property many times for years and have always enjoyed it. NO MORE-WILL NEVER stay there again. Staff dressed in hoodies/sweatpants, congregated in corner behind counter on cell phones. I felt it was a major interruption for them to get me checked in mid-afternoon. The 1 elevator worked 'sometimes'. Often had to wait up to 10 minutes--the hotel was NOT busy and no one was in the elevator--it was just not working correctly. We questioned whether it was safe to ride and whether we'd get stuck in it. Saturday evening about 9:30 there was a guy wrapped up in a blanket, curled up on the floor in the hall on the side of the check-in desk. Several people hanging out for hours in the laundry room (which was directly across from our room), doing who knows what. We felt very unsafe coming/going from our room. Although the room appeared acceptably clean, the toilet and tub pipes continually leaked water-- there were several 1/2" long bugs crawling on the floor (I might understand that in the summer, but this is in the cold in January). The hallways/elevator were dirty, needed cleaning, chipped/broken areas on walls/doors/elevator. One (of the two) of the sets of front entry doors into the lobby did not automatically open, making it very difficult to juggle luggage carts in/out. AND THE ICING ON THE CAKE was our very close friend was staying in Room 222 and there was a live mouse running around her room. EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY DISPOINTED in our stay. :(

We picked this room geographically close to the arena we were staying at for New Year's. After the third attempt to get into room 317 we were given a new room after an hour and some has passed. After much time room number 117 was assigned to take the place of 317. After entering the room discovering water bugs all over the bathroom floor in a bed that was not freshly made found sex devices under the bed. Yes sex devices under the bed that I have pictures of the have not been moved and quite some time with the amount of dust surrounding sex devices. I did not stay at this hotel I did not get my money back at this hotel I will not be using you again in the future. I did not get insurance I did not think I would need insurance on a three-star ranking hotel not satisfied

Staff very rude, aloud a young man to run around the hall and yell all night long. Did not work with Police when they arrive about this young man. Told me to go back to my room when I complained about the noise and the lack of sleep that occurred during the night. Not only myself but other guest at the hotel. Also went to have breakfast and not much left noticed a number of people off the street enjoying the breakfast the staff put out.

Not the same
The property could use some remodeling from the carpet, paint on the walls to condition of the elevators. Been visiting here for last 5 years and seems the area is going downhill. Stayed for 5 days for business and witnessed a domestic quarrel and even Raleigh PD had to come here twice during my stay.

There was no heat in the lobby. Staff had to wear parkas. Couldn’t eat a very limited breakfast due to the lack of heat. The bedroom lamp had no bulb and they wouldn’t exchange it with another lamp. There was trash throughout the hallways. The elevator’s down button didn’t work. The hotel was sold in October but won’t start desperately needed renovation February.

Don’t stay Here
Door from parking lot To our room was supposed to be locked 24/7. We reported it and it never was locked. It Was supposed to be non-smoking and the place smelled like marijuana at all times day/night. It Was run down and dirty. I would not recommend staying there. Breakfast was minimum and people would go to lobby or send kids and there was always cereal and milk spilled in hallways and elevator WHEN the elevator was working. Pictures on website look great but they are very deceiving. We booked because we have a dog but wasn’t fit for our dog.

Honestly, it was an average trip. We unfortunately got a poor impression because we called the hotel to inquire if they had a printer, and were rudely told no before the lady on the phone hung up. The guy who checked us in was nice though, and breakfast was simple but not bad. Half of the lights in our room (311) did not work including the light over the bathroom mirror, which was inconvenient when trying to get ready because of the lack of appropriate lighting. We found an old toy behind the bed and it was pretty dirty back there as well. Also the down elevator button on the third floor did not work, and the back door didn’t actually lock properly when we went in after hours. We were going to use our keycard, but the door opened without it, which made us feel like it was not very secure. We were only staying for one night, and it was decent enough for the price we paid though.

Disappointed in Raleigh
We’ve stayed here probably 15 times over the past 20 years. This was always a decent hotel for a value price. Though the room was clean and the necessities met, everything was aged and in need of updating. There were rain pails placed in the hallways to catch leaks. The elevators were rough looking inside. The exterior side and back entrances were in terrible condition needing cleaning, power washing and paint. There was trash in the parking lot. It was obvious there was no routine maintenance being performed and the owners have stopped investing in the property. Very disappointing. We are not returning. There’s too many other good choices in this Crabtree location.
