This was our second stay at the Rangeley Lake Resort, both in a three bedroom cabin. The main lodge is very lovely, with great views of the lake and distant mountains. The pool and hot tub area are very nicely maintained. The service from the front desk, especially Steve, was amazing. He went out of his way to help us with every request, even fixing my sons' fishing rod and giving him a few pointers on how to use it properly. The cabins are all have a level of privacy from the other cabins. The front porch is a wonderful spot to spend time with the family. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room is very cozy, with lovely decor and a fireplace.
Perhaps since it was the very end of a busy season, our cabin had several issues. First, there was dog hair on the coffee table and rug, we found dog poop in the front lawn and glass in our driveway. Also, the dryer stopped working on the second day and the rug directly outside of the downstairs bathroom was damp the entire time (possibly due to a leak in the bathroom). Had we been staying longer, we would have needed to change cabins due to the issues within ours. I hate to complain, but I don't expect those types of issues with the cost of the cabins. Having said that, we love the area and find the Rangeley Lakes Resort to be a wonderful place to enjoy the last moments of summer. It is a nostalgic throw-back that all should experience.
