We three ladies had a lovely peaceful stay at Sunset Resort. Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious, clean and well-equipped, with great air-con. Two pools, always sparkling clean, and wow what a stunning beach/lagoon area (plenty of sun-loungers scattered amongst the palm trees). Convenient location for car hire, a few restaurants nearby, bus stop outside, 10 minutes from airport. All staff we met were super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was simple but more than enough (fruits, cereals, toast, juice, tea, coffee).. If I return to Rarotonga, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. West Coast location gives the best sunsets!

Business in Cook Islands
The resort is nice and clean with a very good location. The people are very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. My only suggestion is that their hours at the front desk to be longer. The front desk didn't open up until 8:30 AM which was a problem for me because I was there on business and would leave every morning at 7:30 AM and not return until the front desk was closed again.

We'll be back!!
Fantastic place to stay. Great location being only a few minutes to town, and with a very good bakery right across the road, but the big bonus is the staff - super-friendly, helpful and professional. Hailey at Reception recommended a restaurant to us (Vaima) which was outstanding, and Josie makes the best Mai Tais on the island - she is an artist! Some other folks commented that the suites at the front of the property were a bit noisy because of traffic, but the suites we stayed in by the main pool didn't have that issue. 2 Swimming pools is definitely an extra attraction, and they never seemed overcrowded. Add in the hammocks and recliners on the beachfront and this is a great place to relax and enjoy the service.

Super friendly staff
Beautiful property with super friendly staff. The only draw back was the internet signal was not good at all in the villas. We had to either sot by the pool or got to the provate beach and use 3G/4G. Also could have a bit more variety in breakfast.

Small, friendly and beachfront
Really plesant resort, small and friendly, right on the beach. Our studio unit was very well equipped with plenty of crockery and glassware. The beach is best for swimming mid-tide but there's 2 pools for the rest of the time. The pool bar and Anchorage restaurant on site are great. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Loved the hotel, such a pleasant place to stay. Staff were so helpful, they answered all our questions and helped us out with a trip we had booked that we were having issues with. Can not praise the staff enough and the room was lovely although I have to say the rooms on the roadside are very noisy with the traffic (its the main road around the island) but after the first night we got used to it. Loved the beach.. the pool by the bar.. the onsite restaraunt. The bakery across the road was so handy, we used to go to breakfast in the hotel then across to the bakery to pick up lunch to have on the beach lol.

We had a fabulous 5 days at the Sunset Resort. The facilities are brilliant, the pools and sitting areas beautiful. The staff are so friendly and kind. The tropical breakfast was fresh and delicious each morning. The beach is spectacular. The accommodation is clean, perfectly furnished and the beds very comfortable. Air conditioning is much needed and effective. The grounds are beautiful Would recommend

Our special week at Su set Resort
Our stay at Sunset Resort was amazing. Fabulous grounds , accommodation, locality, snorkelling, wonderful friendly and efficient staff, excellent service and attention to detail, kitchens with everything you need if you wish to self cater, happy hour 6 days a week at the Birdcage was a great way to mix and mingle and get to know other guests at the Resort, owners Kevin and Cathy so welcoming and engaging . Tina and Robyn were amazing at reception. We just loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to return to Sunset Resort. It is a secret gem and real value for money. We highly recommend. Could not fault this beautiful resort, the facility was immaculate for cleaniness, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The food was so fresh and yummy. Would highly recommend this to anyone. Some Kayaks for use in the lagoon would be really lovely if available.

Enjoyed the quiet environment, access to 2 pools, an area off the beach to snorkel and view the sea life. Friendly helpful staff especially Heleana. Food options very limited with access to a cooked breakfast inconsistent. Lunch menu very limited. Loved the cocktails. Easy access to other resorts, town and activities with a hire car.

Look nowhere else
Lovely small resort, great location and friendly staff. Pools are fantastic, great reef outside to snorkel. Rooms were a good size, comfy. This resort has a lot of repeat and loyal business, which says a lot. Food at the Anchorage was ok, not great, not terrible but staff are awesome. Birdcage bar is awesome and cocktails were on point. The wifi is useless and I seemed to spend more time trying to get online than being online. All in all a great place to stay for couples, highly recommended.

Sunset was a very pleasant place to stay, the restaurant was very good and staff there were amazing. My criticism would be the beach needs to be cleared of rocks and coral to make it easier to walk on.

We loved the beachfront area with the gazebo and hammocks… it was like paradise down there… next time we’d definitely book one of those apartments. The Birdcage Bar was great too, awesome cocktails!! Thanks we had a lovely relaxing time👍

Great quiet resort. Well maintained and looked after. Pools are clean and quiet. Staff were awesome. Rooms are great. We stayed in 2 bed room 32, which was a good size and aircon in all rooms. Road is a bit busy over Xmas period. We like this part of the island best and snorkelling equipment is free. Free tropical breakfast and filtered water in the rooms is a big bonus. Would definitely recommend. We will stay here again. Enjoy the early morning rooster wake up call. At least you get lots of day to chill out in the sun.
