It was a good stay. We had a good time, but there were a few miscomunications among the staff when we were reserving things and trying to pay. Cash is not always accepted. The spa wouldnt let me pay in cash, when I had called ahead of time to ask, and they said they did. Then we called the front desk for an extra blanket, they forgot about us, and we had to call again. Otherwise, we had a good time.

Heavy security - metal detectors and rfid scanner? Made you worry about security, and a small 3 blade pocket knife is now considered a weapon. No bell hop or cart available. Clean room. Lots and lots of penny slots, did find some quarter and dollar machines.

Having the small refrigerators sitting on the floor made it extremely difficult to put things in and take out.

I visited Gold Strike back in 2015. It was a guys trip. Had a fabulous time and it felt like the hotel and atmosphere was great. So great that I said that I would come back a second time and enjoy it with my wife. Well, finally made it back. I'm not sure if the hotel has changed since I was last there or if I just didn't realize it last time around. But the hotel was extremely smoky. Even though they have signs advising people that there is not smoking in the lobby, people were still doing it without anyone enforcing the rule. One particular night, there was vomit on the floor of one of the elevators that stayed there for hours. We ordered pizza from one of the dining places (I think Sweet Tea) and it was absolutely terrible. The cheese and dough was horrendous. My wife and I ate one slice a piece and threw the rest away. There was a stench in our room. I later learned that the carpet was wet by the fridge as it was leaking water. I learned this near the end of our stay so no sense in complaining. All in all, the hotel wasn't the best. But because we came to watch a show that was being held at the Horseshoe that we enjoyed, as well as enjoying the casino entertainment, the trip was worth it. So I can understand it if others go and would not recommend against it. But I won't be going back... ever!

My wife had a health problem while in the resort and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and concerned for her welfare. We were very impressed.

We didnt like the fact that the "Sweet Tea" (I believe that was the name of it) was suppose to open at 6:00, but they didnt get set up until way after. We left without ordering.

I booked a room for Jan. 14th and due to the weather had to leave on the morning of the 14th to Nashville. So glad I did! Mucho snow!!!! However after much searching for a way to cancel the room I learned that I couldn't cancel the room that late (had to be before 12:01 AM) and then I would be charged fees up to the price of the room. I just wish that there could have been some way to be forgiven the room cost (or at least some of it), however I was not able to do that. Had to eat the cost.

This place was very nice, comfortable, quiet although we didn’t go up to our rooms until 4:30-5am. Long night.. room was great. Beds are comfy and was really quiet for being in a casino

Property was clean, staff was friendly. They did try to charge me more than they were supposed to, will see if that comes in on credit card. Also had called several days before arrival for a room on lower floor and near elevator, was told it was noted, got there and it did not happen.

Rooms felt like a roadside motel—dirty and everything in the hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. If you aren’t a smoker, don’t stay here. The worst part about this hotel was the towels. Every single towel in both rooms had poop streak stains on them. I am not kidding—it was awful.

Very clean, awesome staff, and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Plenty of free parking. Nice casino in the hotel.Will definitely stay here again.

Lack of Amnemities
They dont allow people to get in pool/hot tub that dont spend a lot of money gambling. We will find a room in Memphis/Hollywood next time.
