Stayed overnight Fri Nov 29, 2019. Stayed in the original building, 4th floor. The hotel itself, Hotel tour by Cody, property, restaurant Cascades and staff was everything I wanted since seeing The Shining TV movie in 97. One, and ONLY one, flaw...it was snow season and there was no hot water for my stay. I was told by front desk to let the water run to heat up pipes. I never got hot water and used hand towels to rinse myself off with Colorado cold water. Regardless, it was worth it. If you like paranormal, we did hear children running in the hall at 2am. If you're even thinking of eating at restaurant, call and make a reservation immediately. To have a hotel reservation is worth it because we did notice due to the famous hotel tour and restaurant, A LOT of locals and tourists come to property until the last tour and Cascades closes. We felt we didn't have the hotel lobby to ourselves until after 11pm, which was fine with us. And if you're not into paranormal but can appreciate the charm of this early 1900's hotel, it's still worth it.
