For an older property with an authentic feel the property was good. For check in helpfulness Monica was excellent. However.....This property does not have an elevator to reach the rooms which are all at least 1 floor of steps up from the street. In addition they do not employ anyone to help the guests with luggage. We were 2 65 year old women with 2 heavy bags each after 2 1/2 weeks in Europe. When asked for help with the bags to check out the day before our morning to leave, we were told there was no one to help us and they could not risk their staff being injured helping us with our suitcases to go down the flight of stone steps. When I said - you don't want to see us get injured either, I was met with attitude. I feel there should be a disclaimer on when booking this hotel to let older people know about this issue. I was very disappointed with their lack of care. I have had 2 back surgeries and have never stayed at a hotel that didn't either have a elevator and/or someone to help with luggage. Also, somewhere between putting my suitcases out in the hall on the cruise ship the night before we left, staying at this hotel, and flying home, I am missing $640.00 of souvenirs that I am positive I packed. Can't say it happened at this hotel, but I have cruised and flown many, many times and I have never had this happen either.
