My wife and I stayed at the Masseria Palombara Grande for 2 nights while we visited Ostuni area for a friend's wedding. Our host Angelo was great! He is very friendly and accomodating to your needs. He also gave us excellent recommendations on beaches and restaurants in the area. When you are staying in the Palombara Grande, you almost feel like a local in the area with your own little room hidden away in the olive fields. They have excellent breakfast service with fresh brewed coffee, fresh fruit, toast & jam and daily homemade cake surprises :)
There is a small organic orchard with apple, orange, plum, fig trees and you're surrounded by the olive trees all across as far as you can see. We learned that Masseria essentially means a farm, so most of the accomodations in these areas used to be primarily farms, and now they've expended to also include rooms for visitors. So it's great for escaping your standard hotel room experience in a big building.
The area is very quiet at night and the unique architecture of the rooms make it cool to sleep in the hot summer nights. The location is between the beaches, other small towns along the coast and only 10 minute drive to the center of Ostuni. We used our spot as a hopping point for all the activities we planned for our busy schedule and it worked out great!
If you like to stay in a low-key, quiet and nicely maintained b&b I would highly recommend staying here during your stay in Ostuni.
