We had stayed at this hotel three years ago. We returned because we considered this Embassy Suites to be one of the best we'd experienced. We frequent this chain because of its ability to accommodate couples with children. This time was very different. The property in and of itself is well maintained, and staff are friendly and helpful. The disappointments were the manager's reception, the breakfast, and housekeeping. During our previous trip, we experienced unlimited alcoholic drinks and an appetizer spread so extensive that it passed as a meal. This time we were limited to two complimentary drinks, and appetizers were a variety of Chex mixes. Some cheese and crackers were available, a few vegetables, but not every evening and not replenished to keep up with the crowd. Breakfast foods were mostly cold. Perhaps the buffet steam table is not used or just not working, but the food was cold. The second and third day I went to the omelet bar. I knew it would be hot because I watched the chef make it. It was delicious! But everything else was cold. Our first night we found no linens for the pullout couch. It took over 30 minutes to get them to us. I had to ask for more glasses in our room, and these were not supplied on a daily basis without my asking. We ran out of soft soap in the shower on the second day, the third day it was still empty. Worst was finding ants in the room, which I reported. Things happen, places change. It's just not the excellent hotel it was. It's average.
