Friendly staff, nice rooftop....Markus is great up there. great food at Nonna's, quiet strip of downtown. Rooms are clean and very nice.

Location was great. Bed and shower were fantastic. Room itself was just fine. Check in experience was odd. Lobby was often left unstaffed. Floors in the lobby were filthy - probably because of construction outside, but was noticeably dirty. Hotel feels a bit tired. Lobby is in need of a deep clean and should be revisited to be more welcoming. What even is that dead area to the left of entry?

Fantastic hotel and gorgeous room - really it is a suite with a beautiful living room, washroom and separate bedroom! Excellent service and even though there is construction nearby the valet took care of our car and it was an easy registration!

Hotel desk and bar staff were friendly. Not hotel fault, but surrounding area had major construction going on, not too much noise, but certainly not attractive. Room was dirty. Stuff on the floor, hair, a button, hair, bobby pin, hair band, coffee pod still in maker and used pod in new coffee rack, half bag of chips in dresser. When I stepped in shower I noticed half used soap bar and empty liquid soap. Stepped out to get soap from vanity and left nasty, wet, dirty footprint on shower mat. Shower floor was filthy. Spent a few minutes hosing it with shower wand. Then the best part, swung the bathroom door to look for a towel hook and was rewarded with a pair of panties on the door handle (well used). Assume housekeeping had a bad day or didn’t show up. One or two of those things I’d ignore, in total, worthy of a bad review.

The bed was amazing the best night sleep I have had in a while . Very comfortable. The staff was awesome even though they work more than they should they never fell short. Definitely plan on staying again.

Lovely hotel in perfect location with an excellent roof top bar. Jennifer and her staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. If you are planning a stay in San Antonio look no further than the Fairmount hotel.

This hotel isn't going to wow you, but the price for the location delivers a solid 4 star value. The room updates are nice and I can appreciate the historic nature of the hotel, but the common areas are due for upgrade... specifically the lobby. It's walkable to the Riverwalk and felt clean and safe. The rooftop terrace is a nice touch to enjoy a sunset in the evening.

This is such a unique and very nice hotel. There is a lot of history that makes this a wonderful destination. Convenient location, and nice bar and restaurant. Try it, you'll love it!

The hotel was an historical landmark to stay. Enjoyed the upgraded given, but still kept the rustc look. If visiting the city again would stay & hopefully most of the construction would be completed.

Rooms are beautiful and clean. Small staff so it can be difficult to reach front desk. Did not have hot water for the entirety of my stay. Was told I would be compensated and never was. If the service to manage that situation were better I would stay again.

Street construction going on in front of the hotel, the noise level is horrible all day with heavy machinery and loud noises, the hotel staff is friendly and the room was very nice but I would not stay here again until the finish the road construction

Great Location!
The Fairmount hotel was great. We enjoyed the location and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and uniquely decorated. The River Walk, Alamo, Tower of the Americas, and many great restaurants were all within easy walking distance.

We had wonderful experience, Hotel management is so polite. Loving and helpful. The best Part is, there is only 3 mints walk to river walk, anyone can go any time to enjoy weather. Even all attractions were so closed.

I didn’t like that there was no continental breakfast, you had to pay for valet parking, there is no pool, the shower only has half a wall, you can not use the sink if someone is in the bathroom taking a shower if you travel with someone that is not a romantic relationship, the living room is not set up facing the tv, the bathroom is in a closet, and our door was breaking, and hard to get into twice. Overall the people were nice, and the beds were cozy. We had asked about the $50 voucher for the restaurant deck and they said it was no longer happening. Brandon told us he would make sure to put a menu in our room when we asked, and I had asked about having dessert and coffee up on the upper deck. He said he is sure they could work something out, but he never let us know.

Refreshing and Charming
My wife and I came here for a weekend getaway and it was our first time at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though the building is under some renovation, it was very charming and nice. My wife walked around looking at the architecture, fixtures, etc and really loved it. It was centrally located in the downtown area and we walked to the Riverwalk, shopping, etc. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return again in the future and bring some friends.

Almost perfect
It’s an wonderful little place, such great details in the decor. The rooms are so clean, with a great flow. The beds are amazingly comfortable. We ate at one of their adjoining restaurant, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had a pizza (with Jalapeños) l, that my husband loved, a caprese salad that was Devine with fried mozzarella cheese and a basil pesto and just a side of their butter spinach that I inhaled. Needless to say we enjoyed it. The only downside, is they really don’t have a lot of staff. There’s one person checking you in at the hotel and the same person playing hostess for the restaurants. We had to leave early to get to our next destination and there was no one to be found for about 10 minutes, to check us out and get our car (same person again).

Shower drain was so slow, i was quite literally ankle deep in water by the end of my shower. We set the thermastat at 63 like at home(Alaska) and still woke up in a pool of sweat at 0430.

I hardly leave bad reviews.. I like to give the benefit of the doubt but this is way overpriced for what my husband and I experienced. For starters, the “valet” is a total scam. They park your car in front of the hotel in a construction zone and bang on your door at 2am because a cop tells them it has to be moved and they can’t figure out your car keys (it’s a key inside the fob which we had already explained). My husband had to move it himself. We’d been back since 10pm and were not told the issue until 2am when they came banging on our door. They moved every car except for my husbands by the time we were back. So obviously, they knew it was an issue but chose not to tell us until they had to. Also, it’s an obvious construction zone they’re trying to use as a parking lot. The 2nd night the valet driver “just left” (when it’s 24/7 service) according to the bartender who then offered to park the car for us… uh no thanks. Our bathroom window shutters were broken so the construction workers right beside the hotel could see into the entire bathroom. I had to put a towel over the window to cover it. When I brought this up to reception because I wanted my reimbursement for the incidental hold charge he said “I’m not surprised”. There’s more but you get it. Sadly I didn’t take pics for proof, but seriously don’t book here unless you want to be inconvenienced and ripped off.
