Okay
Everything was okay. We arrived early and they were very nice to give us a vacant room while we waited for ours to be available. It had a funny “Old” smell - but seemed cleen. And the cleaning-lady was very nice. The people in the reception didn’t say Hello when we came og went.

Es un lugar muy bonito, céntrico y cerca de todo, el personal muy amable y las habitaciones muy limpias, en general le doy una excelente calificación. El único pero que le pongo; y se ve que han tratado de arreglarlo con ventanales de Aluminio adicionales, es que el ruido de afuera se oye mucho. Pero como uno se cansa durante el día de tanto caminar, es por las mañanas que se incrementa. Ese sería el único pero. Pero reiteró el hotel esta excelente y cuidan hasta el último detalle, fue nuestro aniversario y arreglaron el cuarto muy bonito con pétalos de rosa, en verdad se esmeraron, y estoy muy agradecido.!!!! Gracias a todo el personal!!!

The hotel was very close to the town zocalo, location was perfect. It was very clean, cozy, minimal, and nice. The customer service wasn't that great but I'm not sure if that was a communication breakdown issue because my spanish is not the best. I was happy with the stay but I would try another hotel if I go back to San Cristobal.

Agradable lugar aunque podría mejorar limpieza.
Agradable aunque encontramos sucia de polvo algunos ambientes en la habitación. La habitación es amplia y las camas cómodas. Lamentablemente por estar en esquina de calle en la noche hay personas externas que hacen mucho ruido y no se logra descansar como quisiéramos.

This hotel is very noisy. From our room you could hear every conversation going on in the lobby/entrance. Our room also shared a concrete wall with an adjacent store or shop and there was constant noise transmitting through the wall until 8 or 9 at night. I have stayed in many hotels in San Cristobal over the last 14 years and this was probably my least favorite. The rooms were good and the staff was friendly and helpful but the noise was excessive.

Disappointing
Our stay at the Docecuartos was very disappointing. When we arrived we got a dark room with no air and wifi reception. We asked to change and after almost bagging (not to mention the staff didnt even speak English). The new room was dark as well with a very non comfortable bad (the double room). We were granted with later honeymoon decoration which was nice but we were still disappointed. When we booked the hotel we imagined it as a boutique cool hotel based on the photos. It is far from that, just a very basic and old fashioned hotel. Another thing that bithered us is that when we asked for attractions help we were offered double prices for taxis. We had to find out from our friends hotel that a taxi to Chamula is actually half the price.
